Gus Gus Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I am the worst kind of poster. I simply repeat what I read on football news websites and forums like this one. I have not researched the validity of Tugay->coach beyond the previously cited sources. As much as I love the guy, I hope he doesn't play for us next season.

nicko Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Nicko IF we were to stay up and sell RSC do you think Sam would be given a big chunk to spend on a striker or still bargain basement buys? All highly hypothetical of course. I think he would...but Roque won't be the only one going. Major changes needed.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 So who else is rumored to be leaving besides Roque and Robinson?
RoversSG Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Anyone else thinks andy van de meyde could be worth a try? He used to be very good before he went to Everton and considering our manager's reputation to resurect careers, he might be an alternative to Pedersen or Diouf next season. At very least, we will have an alternative to Pedersen.

Many rumours about him being trouble still float round everton (altough the club said they where false they still fly round) and at 25K a week I'd sooner stick with Bert. We have to sign players who will increase in value this summer, not has beens.
Amo Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Big Sam linked with Schalke 04's Kevin Kuranyi in the Summer.
Billy Castell Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Isn't Van Der Meyde rumoured to be an Alchoholic and a mean drunk? Nah, even Kiki/Kili Gonzalez would be a better option (as in the former Valencia and Inter winger). I think Kurayani is a tall, physical striker like Klose, but not as good. And actually might be German too. Worth a look. Out of the freebies Gibson (Man Utd), Hunt (Bolton), Sturridge (Man Citeh), Davis and Lauren (Portsmouth) would be worth a look in my opinion.
Gus Gus Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I think Kurayani is a tall, physical striker like Klose, but not as good. And actually might be German too. Worth a look. Is this a joke about Klose being Polish? Cos Kuranyi is from Portugal or Brasil, don't remember.
Billy Castell Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Couldn't remember where Mr. Kevin was from, but the Portugal/Brazil thing sounds familiar. That's why I added the word 'might'. He's a pretty good player anyway, and I wouldn't mind him.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Kuranyi is a tall strong lad with a decent scoring record. And for the record, he plays for Germany but I think he was born in South America.
Majiball Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Kuranyi was born in Brazil. He no longer plays for Germany since he walked out on the team. He was the subject of a rather funny hacker prank early this year when some hackers broke onto the schalke site and added a story saying the club had cancelled his contract, he's not very popular in germany. Anyways he scores goals and we need some could be a good move provided he's cheap of course.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 BRFC Linked To England Youth Star http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-21276169/ That final line dosen't make him look like an appealing prospect.

He sounds a bit of an Anelka/Van Hoojidonk type doesn't he? Not sure he's the type of person we need.
thenodrog Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 He sounds a bit of an Anelka/Van Hoojidonk type doesn't he? Not sure he's the type of person we need. Basing one's opinion on a tabloid newspaper report is not the wisest move Billy, ask Nicko. Anyway Brian Clough forged a European cup winning team out of managing bad boys and misfits through financial necessity.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 He sounds a bit of an Anelka/Van Hoojidonk type doesn't he? Not sure he's the type of person we need. Yeah, why would anyone ever want Anelka? Let's stick with Jason "back-o-the-net" Roberts.
nicko Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The Mirror story about the former Arsenal kid Nicholas is correct...if you check the excellent unleaded's research on another thread he is already playing for Rovers in a tournament. The lad sounds quite headstrong and wants to play. Not a bad thing. As long as he settles in the area he could be an asset.

Is he a free agent, and therefore potentially a player we could use before the end of the season - or simply "one for the future"?
nicko Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Cheers Nicko. Is he a free agent, and therefore potentially a player we could use before the end of the season - or simply "one for the future"? One for the future...he could play for the reserves or academy but not first team games. I don't think he is ready for that yet anyway.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Would that be a tournament recently or currently taking place in Washington? Saw something on google news about a BRFC v Real Madrid fixture which may or may not have taken place.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Not really sure what tournament it was supposed to be.
Mozzer Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 isnt sean davis out of contract in the summer?? could be worth a shout.... as for kevin kurayni-everytime ive seen him he looks really good..
EwoodGlory Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Not really sure what tournament it was supposed to be. http://www.internationalamateursports.com/

Lathund Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 SSN linking us with Ragnar Sigurdsson Quite possibly the best defender (Alongside his partner at the heart of IFKs defense, Mattias Bjärsmyr, also linked to Rovers some months ago IIRC) in the Swedish leagues. Whether he's Premiership-ready or not is hard to tell, but I see him as a complete centre half, no real weknesses. £1.5m for an unproven player, albeit an international, can be risky in our situation though. Can offer us something going forward as well
