roversmum Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 In the words of my grandmother (God rest her soul) Kameni can want on.

Clitherover Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Paul Robinson will be offloaded by Blackburn after only one season at the club. (News Of The World - I'd only offload him if the money is right and Kameni from Espanyol signs on a free. The Robinson money can then be spent on a central midfielder who has the ability to pass a football. Can't see this happening myself.
Hughesy Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 The People (Nixon stories I believe) says Cruz is being linked to a 12 million deal plus players in exchange. Kameni apparently would want 50,000 a week. Kameni wont be getting 50k anywhere so im sure that will be rubbish. 30k per week for a good goalkeeper seems fair. £12m + players? Huddlestone, Bent, Jenas? Id take any of them.
EwoodGlory Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Kameni on a free would probably be good value for £50k a week, especially if we get near to £3.5m back from Robinson. Ship Gallagher off and use his wages as the extra.
Majiball Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Majiball, what is it that you are proposing to help the club? It seems that you have been at the training ground and you obviously know more than a bit about fitness an other aspects of sport/football. Maybe you don't want to go into details over the internet but it would be interesting to hear what ideas you have and if you have or plan to present them to the club... I only want to go to rovers when I can have a position where I make the decisions (if I'm ever deemed good enough), my current club give me that Rovers would not. I also have a lot of work on I research for two clubs in spain now but my work would be of serious benefit to Rovers, especially with this 18 players and no injuries. I must have made a good impression with Williams as he put me in touch with Howard and we've chatted and met up a few times since and I've been asked to stay in touch and I will. Sam's discussed mine and colleagues work publically so I've made a good impression, since its proper hush hush he can only have got it from me as I remember discussing it with Howard. Once the clubs future is decided we will meet up again and discuss things further, but it would have to include my colleague, not just me, we'll see. But youth is my main area of focus, not adults and I'm not sure I want to work at that level. Not sure he'd fetch as much as that. Although if city showed up at the auction it might bump it up a little. I know we are short on transfer funds, but i'm not sure that'll be so much of a problem this year. Too many clubs have too bigger squads and are carrying under performing players on too much money. I think this summer may see a lot of players moving to simply get them off payrolls. If this is the case then our usual £5m budget may stretch a little further. Don't get me wrong, if we could raise this kind of money for Warnock then it makes fantastic business sense. I don't have any issues regarding his ability at all, but at the right price he could go and i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Bidding wars!!! but even if it was only 6-7M I'd take it. I've said why and, after this season we cannot afford players who are here for themselves especially if we are only going to have 18 plus the kids.

Thanks for the reply, very interesting and I hope the club are receptive to your ideas as well as others. I have some doubts about Allardyce's football but he is known to be receptive to new ideas so I hope you get to discuss things with the club further. If the club is looking to downsize the playing squad then we must make the most of our coaching and medical staff throughout the club...
Backroom Tom Posted April 19, 2009 Backroom Posted April 19, 2009 I read the RSC bid as worth £12 including players not plus players

67splitscreen Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 No, No and NO. I really do not rate Tel Ben Haim. Sam targets.........
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Wouldn't mind him being signed personally.
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 As a 1.5 million or less signing to add cover? Sure. As anything more...no; if this is the case "Blackburn Rovers have targeted Tal Ben Haim as their main summer transfer target, according to The News of the World." then Allardyce is even more useless than I have feared.
broadsword Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 *If* that is true then it's a complete joke. Our main signing will be an outlay of 1.5 mill, oh god help us.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 *If* that is true then it's a complete joke. Our main signing will be an outlay of 1.5 mill, oh god help us. Sounds about right. Sell Roque for £12 million plus, spend £1.5 million on Ben Haim and we are ready to challenge for mid table or perhaps Europe at a push.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Highly doubt it will be the main signing just because the NOTW says so. I believe there might be some truth in the link but certainly not main signing.

I believe there might be some truth in the link but certainly not main signing. Going off recent history its probably true. I'm afraid selling Roque isn't going to fund this much needed investment in the squad, not after the owners have had their taste.
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 The owners aren't removing any money that we bring in.
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 He's a decent player, but certainly not a guarantee to make it at a higher level.
beerwins Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Rovers look FOR Fanni to boost attendances??? would work for me
Hughesy Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Some would say we already have a squad full of them!!
67splitscreen Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Some would say we already have a squad full of them!! Some would argue we don't have any, they would have to be useful for something,at least once a week or so, ours struggle to perform once a month.
RovertheHill Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Rovers look to Fanni to boost attendances??? Not the cheerleaders again - they were rubbish... Sorry
Backroom DE. Posted April 20, 2009 Backroom Posted April 20, 2009 I fear that the board will see the return of Emerton and Reid next season as like two "new signings" and then hope that Dunn and Grella can return to fitness for next season... which we all know is an extremely risky assumption. Hope I'm wrong there.
Guest Vinjay606 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Wouldn't be that surprised if Dunn was sold should the club preserve EPL status.
67splitscreen Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 And the chances of that............. we'll be luck if we can give him away, with his injury record.
