Rocket up his arse. Akin to kick up the arse. In other words, he needs to pull himself together and get back to his best, or do one.

Nope, you're wrong.

Sam isn't happy with Morten's diet, in particular his choice of lettuce. If he wants to stay, he's having to change from iceberg to rocket.

Its easier guys, girls and so on of you pm me then I can respond to each one. If anyone feels the need to pass it on to other people then its fine by me, I dont think so far it has gone beyond that. And like I have reiterated, unless it is formally announced I dont and wont believe it.

Feel free to contact mPS Vinjay, I have no gripe with you so why wouldnt I include you ? Its all free.

Don't like the sound of that squad matey- Reid and Emmo ? I'd love to have them both back but we can't rely on either especially Reid. With two other crocks in Dunn and Grella we need guys who can play 30-35 games a season. Anything we get from Reid and Emmo will be a bonus. MGP I'd move on if we can, ditto Dunny. Nolan is a replacement for Tugay ? That's a laugh, Nolan can't pass it accurately further than about 10 yards.

Holding on to Givet and Samba will be a major achievment in the close season, I'd be amazed if they're both still at Rovers next August. Given the chances that Ooijer is also likely to be going home we're gonna be short at centre back.

On the striking front it's even worse, Santa will probably be off and Roberts and Benni aren't getting any younger or quicker. In fact our current squad must be the oldest and slowest in the Premier League.

Who'd be a Rovers fan ! I'm not sure I could stand another season like this one but that's what we're looking out without some dosh being put into the club.

Tyrone

Lets be clear, there will never be a player like Tugay gracing our clubs shirts in the near future, unless of course we unearth a diamond among diamonds. The point is, considering our finances and status, Nolan is the type of player that would flourish at Ewood Park.

He can run, he can defend, he is box to box, he can score and create. All attributes of a much younger Tugay. Nolan is definately in our price range. There are not too many around that are. Another similar player is Sean Davis at Pompy. The question is would he move North ?

Rovers will have to cut their cloth at this price range. For me there are 3 English based players that would fit Rovers style. Davis, Nolan and Joey Barton and we all know what we think about that little chappie dont we ?

I would be very surprised if Sean Davis ever played for Rovers. According to many Fulham fans he has a distinct dislike of the club.

I think Sean Davis bossed the midfield yesterday for Pompey. Isn´t he out of contract in the summer? Ideal signing. Aggressive, great tackler/ball winner and he has a range of clever passing aswell.

Top class player. He might be getting on a bit - I remember him scoring for Fulham when we got promoted. They had 10 men and he must have covered 15-20 kilometers that night.

According to 'the fiver' from the guardian:

Blackeye Rovers are interested in taking Barry Ferguson back off the red hands of Pope's O'Rangers.

As Jimmy Greaves once said "it's a funny old game" but I'd fall of my chair if there's any substance in that whatsoever! Perhaps Lee Carsley's coming back too. I fact, why not Ronnie Hildersley whilst were at it!

Stick your hand in the fire and get it burnt and you dont do it again. Ferguson scammed money out of us once so thats his fault........... if he's allowed to do it again it's ours!

Nolan was dropped as a result of a tactical switch by big Al Shearer, he certainly isnt inured.

Nolan for Rovers ? Its not a bad shout and I am certain that he would flourish under Sams leadership. He has many positives, he can pass, run all day, defend and score goals. On the downside he has previously slated BRFC.

He could be the ready made Tugay replacement.

What is certain that of this seasons midfield combination, it wont be the same when we kick off next season.

Outgoing = Tugay and the Axe (freebies), Treacy, Dunny and potentially Andrews. MGP will have the proverbial rocket if he wants to stay, Carlos wont be signed whilst Warnock will return to left back.

I reckon we will have Emerton, Reid, Grella, Diouf PLUS 1 major signing and MGP. Thats 6 midfielders with the likes of Doran and Judge on the fringes. We will probably have a loanee signing for this area or I fancy a bid for Pennant to take the right side leaving Emerton to take the right back slot.

I dont see the squad going over 22/23 players and would expect a good cup run in with a top 10 finish.

Not meaning to be contentious but:

Some odditys here.

Can't see Dunn going. Who'd have him and how would you get him to leave!

Nolan - Top wages, long contract - Barcodes will have to loan him out on a partial salary if he does leave which I doubt. No Chance.

Will Reid play again?

Tugay will retire won't he rather than go on a free.

Givet - Is he not £5m - would we pay it/do we have it?

Judge - just isn't ready - looks a long way off to me.

Zurab - has he gone already?

We would be short of 1 right back (presuming we can afford cover) but Emerton is in the midfield 6 and at right back, he's not good enough to do both at once - not after a cruciate.

Pennant - no chance - he won't come.

Also on The Rumor: If you don't believe it yourself why are you PMing it to people?

there maybe 1 player keen to move north , english , very good paser of the ball (almost as good as tugay) , scores a few too , would cost under £2m , and a little bit younger and more mobile than tugay.........Danny Murphy........depending on what kind of playing style BFS finally decides on , Murphy could be a realistic target

Some will argue he is now too old so there wouldn't really be a resale value, but personally i'd take him if the transfer budget is as small as i think it will be.

Oh Uh. How small are we looking RVR?

That depends on the board and how much funds they give him. I don’t buy into this Roque sale guarantees £15-20 million to spend in the window. I can see the board giving around half of the Roque money and when you consider we will need to bring in a new striker if Roque goes and buying Givet there won’t be much left to strengthen the midfield.

I hope I’m wrong but I have no confidence in the trust/board releasing the funds necessary to rebuild the squad.

i understand , but he's just turned 32, tugay was about same age when we bought him , the point was you can still buy english quality players without spending a kings ransom, nolan, for example would command a transfer fee of £4m , possibly more and want wages of what? 30 , 40 , 50k a week?

i know there can be some gems to be found abroad for very little , but there is also a huge risk , someone like Danny Murphy would , in my opinion, represent little risk

1864 Roverite, I used to rate Nolan as a good all action up and down midfielder. Trouble is as he's gotten older his game has become more limited, he's just not developed. The Squanderers reckoned he'd gone as far as he could with them and nothing he's done with Newcastle leads me to think Megson has dropped a clanger. If I had to stick my neck out on any of those three it would be Barton.
