The Independent do a list of the 10 players likely to be on the move this summer.

With Tevez, Ribery, Drogba, Villa up there, RSC only makes 10th place and significantly Citeh are linked to all four of those as well as Spurs to Tevez further re-enfrcing my view that we are going to be in for a very long and uncertain summer so far as our Roque is concerned.

I still don't see how amyone will sanction the 15m we need for Cruz due to his recent injury record and loss of form - not even Citeh. No one has ever paid that sort of money when the player involved has only managged 50% of games and scored 4 goals..... pretty terrible. A non starter.

Roque will be a Rovers player next season, it's McCarthy all over again. I just hope Cruz doesn't pull a similar sulk.

I think RSC will go for between £12-15m, I think spurs are a more likely team to sign him and maybe with somelike Bent in part ex which will make sure they dont have to pay over £10m.

Anything up to £18m is entirely Rovers' decision.

A buying club will also look at his Paraguay form this year which has been stunning when not injured.

He will go for very close to £18m or not at all- remember that anything over £15m gets paid to Roque under the deal which gives him the right to talk to anyone offering over £18m this summer so the player himself is not going to be all that enthused by a move for less than £15m.

That complicating factor means that there is virtually no way that Santa will be involved in a swap deal. In fact I cannot remember the last time a swap or part exchange deal was done in the Premier League (swap as opposed to debt cancellation). They have simply ceased to exist.

The Boja move is exciting- it also points to Rovers moving to a new way of conducting business with star players coming in for short spells on a planned rather than poached basis!

If we can get £12M-£15M then just get rid of him. He's a rotten apple than needs chucking out! No room for his sort anymore!

 Look lets stop being the nice club and fannying about with him - he wants to go and has said so all season, he has also been injured. IF he REALLY wants out then he can go for £15m, with no cash going to him, its that simple. If he wants cash, he can negotiate a signing on fee at his next club. Otherwise he stays put and shuts the fk up and plays for Rovers.

Cant fault big Sam's thinking on this move. Im sure it will alert people like Everton though to make a similar enquiry.

The summer is going to be very interesting anyway....

Funny - I thought that too but I think this season is going to be quiet on the transfer front, some clubs are not interested in our targets (Top 4 for starters) the

The Second tier

Newcastle - Well we'll have to see about them

Spurs will be looking at similar to the top four with Redknapp sorting them out.

Everton - Surely surely they will finally admit to poverty or stick with what they have.

Villa - Stick

City - Top 4 type targets (and beyond)

Middle group -including us

Rovers - will spend on wages or fee (not sure how much) on the likes of Boban (Three below don't have an asset like RSC to raise substantial funds though)

Fulham - Same

Wigan - Same

Bolton - Same

WHU - Will rely on kids in a no expense this summer (Oh for their Academy Director!)

Stoke - Sell to buy

Rest will struggle and not attract players like Boban - so I think we're in with a shout this year given Sams silky tongued ways.

Who says Stoke have to sell to buy? Here's an interview with their chairman (by my daughter) talking about their plans for next season.

Good interview and he seems a genuine sort.

I based that on the size of the ground - it's only 25,000 isn't it, so they won't be in the 'bigger gated' clubs category will they? Unless they have a benefactor. They already have 4 sound forwards so will sell one of them if they bring someone in I think.

They won't be spending much more than us.

He surely doesn`t pull a similar sulk because he needs to play next season!

Bojan would be an awesome signing! May not necessarily be banging in the goals week in week out but he will be a big name to boost the team and us fans and also show the rest of the league that we are not messing about anymore. Sam would be a hero if he pulled this off.

Another name that came to my head as a Sam signing, and has already been mentioned in this thread, is Saviola. Not much has been heard of him recently but if we could get him on loan he would be a quality signing IMO. Sam has brought in big name players and helped their careers before so there is no reason why he can't do it again.

To quote a senior Rovers source from the Sun: “Sam has worked with big-name stars before and would like to do so again with Rovers.” Sounds promising!

Villa will spend big, as will City and probably Tottenham. City wont only go for top 4 and above type players, you have to walk before you can run!!

Fulham have had their best season for a long time so will strengthen further, as will wigan once they lose Valencia & Zaki. Stoke will also spend good money, considering they didnt spend much last summer they must have a decent pot to spend now.

Where the hell was that filmed, how non-descript is that background?!

Oh and Wigan have Valencia to sell if things go pear shaped. He's worth a fair few bob.

Talking about Bojan, does anyone know what is happening with the guy Spurs bought? Dos Santos or something like that. If RSC and derbs are both moving, we're down to 2 strikers only and 1 of which can't shoot to save his life, while the other can't run. We're probably need 2 more strikers and since this spurs guy played with Bojan, might make for an interesting frontline...

Of course, this might sound more like football manager

Do you mean the man at Ipswich?? yes he's on loan at Ipswich. He's scored against burnley so would be welcome here. He still is a highly rated kid his best mate is Bojan and he's a more than capable winger. Trouble is he's on mega money, but if we could help him get used to physical side of the game, then he'd be worth a penny or two.

Huddlestone, Dos Santos plus 8M and spurs can have RSC.

4 in 8 at ipswich.

Just read the bojan report in bbc gossip. IF that happens ill eat my rovers shirt.

As for Dos Santos, I remember watching him playing for barca before he moved to spurs. Looked a quality player and was only 17 or so at the time. Scored a hat trick in the last game I saw him in. He was regarded highly i seem to remember along with Messi and Bojan. Yet spurs somehow seemed to wreck him. Id have him at rovers though.

A lot of guess work going on here which I think will be proved very wrong.

This is how I see it:

Net sellers unless new ownership:

West Ham

Portsmouth

Liverpool

Limited funds:

Rovers

Brum

Burnley/Sheff U

Everton

Could spend £20m net

Sunderland

Newcastle

Bolton (guy in the Isle of Man)

Wigan (depends on Whelan fancying it or not)

Stoke (Bet365 guy- biggest upward mover in Rich List)

Fulham (depends on Al Fayed wanting to kick on or not)

Wolves

Man U (probably just one player)

Spurs (will sell a lot first then buy a lot)

Will spend over £20m net

Chelsea (Ancelotti's dowry)

Villa (will look outside the UK this time)

Arsenal (can do- doesn't mean Arsene will do)

Loony bin on speed

Citeh

hopefully allardyce will be looking at the loan market and players who are free at the end of the season..jermaine pennant , sean davis and joey barton spring to mind about the players who are free at the end of the season..and for loan-lucas from liverpool who doesnt get alot of games-in the papers today bojan..

we could still have a decent enough squad without spending alot of money..
