this summer is going to be very intresting i am sure Sam is going to suprise us all and pull of some great signings. The players he is being linked with at the moment are very promising. It makes a change with us being linked with average 1st div players!!!

I really like Doyle, I wouldn't mind him here at all. He's no RSC replacement but he's step up from both McCarthy and Roberts. Whether he's enough of an improvement to make it worthwhile doing that is questionable though.

Informed guesswork based on what I've been reading about the clubs likely to be in the Prem next season.

Also these things change- I would have had Spurs net nil before they received the tenders for the new stadium.

Doyle is a step up from McCarthy and Roberts? Really?

I think he'd score considerably more than Roberts, and probably the same as McCarthy whilst offering more in terms of pace and work rate. At 6'1 I think he'd be a good balance of physical presence whilst still being a good goal scorer. Plus he's only 25, McCarthy and Roberts are both into their 30s now aren't they?

Don't ask! I asked my daughter about it today and she said there was nowhere to film it in the room they were given. She'd asked the girl on the camera to make sure you couldn't see the whiteboard/blackboard thing in the corner and she had ignored that and then had seen the mess she made when she filmed the microphone. However, to put the interview on youtube it has to go out uncut. They are students at Staffs Uni and therefore very lucky to get an interview like that anyway and the girl operating the camera is one of the worst students. The interview came about by chance because they had gone down to do some vox pop stuff outside the Brit about the impact of staying in the league on the town or something like that and quite by chance had been offered the interview so had to go with what they had.

If Barca really loan this kind of wonderkid they won´t loan him club like Spurs thats´s for sure! Dos Santos is great example for them. He has to play regulary and we would offer that. Bojan has played left winger and striker at Barca. Givet and Bojan our left side..

He's a VERY exciting prospect, but is still only 18 and has only scored a couple of La Liga goals so even if we do get him in for a season, he probably won't be an amazing addition, just a good addition with bags of promise that we'd never have a hope of signing. Still would really like to see him here though.

Agreed. He's a great talent, but at this moment in time I'm not sure he's actually in a position to dominate in this league. He'd certainly be a good option in our side, but we'd still need to make better signings to go along with him. Biglia is a good one to be looking at, I've seen him play quite a bit since he's been at Anderlecht and he's good, even if he is tiny. I had a friend of mine who was in their under 18 squad up until last year and he always said that he was amazing to watch in training.

I'm not sure. According to soccerbase he's scored 18 goals for Reading this season, however he had two hattricks early in the season and only has 3 in his last 25 games. He wins on age but McCarthy is surely the better finisher and Roberts brings things to the table that under Sam will likely be very important to us.

I'd like us to see Roberts and McCarthy as often as possible next season unless we make a huge signing.

Much better than Davies but in terms of workrate, i can see similarities

Noel Hunt is an excellent player, plenty of skill still only 26 and has a decent left foot.

McCarthy id like to see, not really Roberts though (he should be 3rd or 4th choice) as he misses too many chances, if he has took them this season we would currently be around 9th right now!!

I agree with the rest of it though. Doyle isnt in the same class as Benni, 3 goals in 25 CHAMPIONSHIP games, compared with Benni 19 starts (11 as sub) with a return of 13 goals, despite being in and out of the team like a yo-yo.

It's unlikely we will get him. But it's nice to see us linked to players of the right age. Ie. 18-25... I'd hate it if we went into the transfer market this summer looking for more 30-somethings...

We have experience in our squad, we now need pace, youth and creativity...

actually I've just read it and it's an agent being very careful to avoid allegations of tapping up. He says there will be talks at the end of the season about his future and obviously the lad will be hoping Barcelona still want him to stay there and have him in their plans for next season.
