If someone want's to pay 20m for RSC, they obviously see him as an improvement on what they already have and stacks of potential.

Fools. Who are we to question there wisdom.

As they say, We'll be laughing all the way to the bank. ;)

Have you seen his performances for Paraquay (when fit obviously) - his performance for Rovers (again when fit) - haven't been too shabby.

His injury record is awful - but on his day he is one of the best centre forwards around.

At the end of the day City paid a small fortune for Bellamy - who has a similar horrendous injury record - but also has off-field problems as well. Though Bellamy wasn't £20m - why shouldn't Rovers ask top $ ?

It would appear that club can't win - surely it is refreshing to see them playing hard-ball for once - rather than falling over when another club flashes its small change ?

If anyone pays 20M for Roque they are idiots.

If we reject a bid 15M or above for Roque WE are idiots.

and would we be likely to turn down that size of bid? You say you want 20 to set the mark, knowing that everyone always comes in lower. You have that as the public price and in your own minds you have what would actually be accepted. you don't communicate that to anyone else. We all know enough about bargaining to know how it works and so do all football clubs. If 15 is bid in an acceptable paying format and the player fancies the buying club, then the deal gets done. If not then you have to think again.

Nobodys gonna pay 20m for Santa Cruz, his sale value was last season and the club chose to fight it off and now his values gone way down after a nothing season. I'd say 15m tops.

Nobody was going to pay £12m for Bridge, £14m for Bellamy, £16m for Bent, offer £35m for Berbatov.. and so on and so on...

I disagree, the club can win by sticking by there guns and playing hard ball, good on um, if it comes off, if not we get as much as is humanly possible, milk it for all it's worth and we'll still be laughing all the way to the bank.

I wonder how much of Roque's injuries this season have been down to the tender mercies of Meester Ince?

If you don't get properly fit pre-season then get injured, I should imagine it's a proper sod to get injury-free again, even if the manager improves.

Hughes will look at what cruz did for him when he was at Rovers and was able to keep him fairly injury-free.

No more Mr nicey, nicey pushover Rovers.

:tu: Great aint it!! You want him, you pay up - simple!

Apologies if i have missed something but wasnt there talk of an 18M buy out clause that comes into place this summer?

£20m - £15m to us, £5m to the player for 'loyalty'.

Personally I think the £20m price tag is a good move. Clubs now know not to come with an £8m offer - offer us alot higher and then we start talking. I dont think we will hold out for the full £20M, but we may aswell screw them for what we can.

Also on a side note - Bentley Transfer was payable over a few installments, therefore im assuming we will pay Arse over the same breakdown? If so, flog him to them and get them to clear that money we owe them for that.

Lets not be naive - we will sell for anything close to £15m. JW is making the right noises to ensure we get as close to that mark as possible.

Worst case scenario is RSC still being a Rovers player in Sept 1st.

Yes - but do you really think that if we sold him for £19,999,999 he would accept that we owe him nothing? Not a chance, he probably has some sort of agreement wrote into his contract.

Nicko can you clear it up??

Bridge has only played 12 games for Chelsea in the first half of the season, only 6 of which were in the league.

Bellamy had managed 17 games for West Ham, but had only scored 5 goals. He spent most of August and September out injured.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we get a similarly good price out of City.

I think it's the right move for JW to state that the price is £20m. We won't get that much for him, but better to go out too high than too low. If taking this hardline approach results in £15m instead of £14m, it's been well worth it. I just hope that the situation will be settled either way soon after the window opens.

I'm sure that they've got an ex-estate agent frantically spining down at Ewood right now:

"Yes, well, we've had plenty of interest and several offers.

They just keep coming in.

You'd better sign up now to avoid being gazumped".

We've knocked up a summer shopping list for Blackburn. Note that this is who Rovers SHOULD buy, not necessarily who they'll end up with!!

Blackburn's summer shopping list

I agree with the comments about midfield and Huddlestone, he is a top player. Maybe Harry would be prepared to let him go in a swap deal with RSC ?

Not sure about Gudjohnsen, I think i would prefer crouch.

Neither is very impressive though. Crouch does not produce enough at club level and Gudjohnsen, whilst class a few years back is, like the rest of us, not getting any younger. Whilst we need experience, we also need some potential continuity and could do with someone a couple of years younger if that proves possible.

Crouch would be a fantastic signing for us, he's a very very good player. Can't believe anyone would think he's not good enough for us.

For a guy his size he does not dominate in the air as much as he should and, although his goal scoring record for england is impressive, he's never done as well as that for his clubs, has he? Good he may be - impressed I'm not. That's not to say if he came here I wouldn't be behind the signing but watching him the other day (albeit in a poor team) there was nothing better than ok about him.

jerome rothen would be a good signing for free..

would provide pedersen good solid competition for the left wing spot instead of keith treacy who is useless..

peter crouch is an ok player-but i wouldnt pay more then 10million for him-no doubt pompey would want that much-sam allardyce seems to be a big fan of his though..

we might aswell go for papa bouba diop aswell lol.. with samba , crouch and him in the box for set pieces we would score plenty lol..
