I'm of the opinion that Lita would be good. Bring him in on a 2-3 year deal.

Build up his confidence again. Play him in the cup comps and a couple of Premier League games.

If he scores a goal or 2, we will make a 1-2 million pound profit on him in a years time selling him to a Championship team... Worse comes to worse, we release him at the end of his contract. I would view Lita as a Kuqi style signing... Can't really lose...

I seriously think Lita is worth looking at for a trial. I don't think anyone is suggesting he will replace Roque, but he could be a decent squad player without dipping into the coffers.

I'm suprised that he has been released by Reading although I have not followed his career over the last few seasons. Used to be very fast and strong AFAIK

He would give us some much needed pace up front.

I always thought that he looked a tremendous prospect.

I think he got a bit big headed, and may have had a few incidents at nightclubs. I was more surprised that Hanemann had been released. They may have got some money had they put him up for sale, but I guess the parachute payments will be drying up soon.

Lita is worth a trial, and Sam may be able to fire him up again. He can't be as bad as Roberts anyway.

Exactly and we sold Kuqi for almost £3m

Reading have only released him because they need to cut wages

I'd give Lita a go.

Like Roberts in the sense he often does the hard bit but so often fluffs a near open goal.

He's free and quick - let's have him. He can be the Matty D replacement - approx £3m profit to use elsewhere.

Lita for me was a better player than Derbyshire at his best so if we could get him on a free and get anything over £3 million for Derbyshire it would be inspired business.

Remember this is likely a 4th choice striker and that sort of money may allow us to sign Givet and keep Warnock

Everton's Andy van der Meyde has trained all week with Rovers.

Deal should be sorted next week.

Not sure where he'll fit in, maybe a squad player or Sam see something in him that Moyes doesn't. Sam's done it before with other teams rejects.

Not heard anything about this, and can't say i'd be overjoyed if we signed him. He's a very average player. His motto (tatoo on his arm) is 'The Sniper'... Find this highly amusing for a footballer who hasn't hit the target in 20 games. Also 20 games in 3 years??

If he is one of the 4 or 5 players Sam was speaking off, i would not be happy...

His contract expires in 3 weeks. Guessing thats why were looking at him...

Where've you got this from?

The bloke next door heard a woman at the butchers who knows the woman at the Launderette who washes the team kit. :-)

Can't say till he signs. Sorry, saving it for the day job as Nicko would say!

If Van Der Meyde signs we can be happy we don't have Dick Advocaat as manager. Andy would try to drink him.

We should be looking for better than some alky washout who has hardly played for years.

Marcus Hahnemann also released by readng , if, we are in the market for a back-up keeper . we could do worse

not a spring chicken anymore , but has got PL experience

No... Just no....

Van de meyde on a free is not a bad signing. Has pace, skill and a decent cross, does come with a lot of baggage though.

Please god no, he's average at the very, VERY best. I'd rather stick with one of the backups we've got.

I don't really want us to sign VDM either, he's been out of the game for way too long now. If it is true that he's an alcoholic, he's probably lost his game and focus aswell.

We need quality players not just keep adding average ones to the team.

I dont rate Treacy at all but id rather keep him than wasteing wages on van der meyde.

The money we would be paying him should be going towards quality midfielders

I don't for one minute believe Tugay would be a Rover if he was 10 years younger.

Totally overused and incorrect statement. Circa ten years ago Tugay played for Rangers.

I can only assume people are remembering Lita from a few seasons ago, rather than now. Stay clear.
