In order for us to have a respectable season next time a massive exodus of players needs to happen. A good deal are simply not good enough.

Allardyce begs to differ. He said after todays' game that the majority of our current squad are good enough.

Goalkeeper is not a priority. Robbo & Bunn are fine as 1st and 2nd choice... not sure why there's even any interest in us replacing either. There are other areas of our current squad that need tending to urgently, GK isn't one of them.

Quite agree. Robbo has been excellent recently and Bunn has impressed everyone at the club since he arrived. Spend what little money there is on outfield players!

He's got a point. I don't think we were that bad today we just lack pace and cutting edge in the final third. It doesn't take more than a couple of players to add that.

The defence is just lacking a specialist right back. We need another winger (with pace) to challenge Diouf and Pedersen. Grella is fine as the holding player but needs a couple creative players alongside him. Aside from replacing RSC when he leaves I don't think much else needs changing.

That's still 5 players, and it wouldn't surprise me to see McCarthy go and a more mobile striker brought in. Any more upheaval than that and we could be in trouble, teams that make massive changes in one summer tend to struggle (see: Spurs).

Doran is also a player i think has a very very bright future. He seems to have grasped 1st team football far more easily then Judge, bearing in mind Doran is only 18.

If we keep giving him 1st team chances, i think he could be superb for us...

I do think however that if this 25 players per team process is brought in, some of our injury-table regulars will need to have their futures reviewed. We can't afford to go into seasons with 4-5 out of 25 players as perminant injury worries... Taking this into consideration. We really do need to have a closer look at current and possible future players past history records as well...

What has he done to make you think that?

He is composed on the ball, bearing in mind he is not very experienced. He has a good range on the pitch. Granted his passing could do with some work, he has shown that he has a good eye so far. He has good pace, both coming back and going forward.

He has shown good crossing ability and goalscoring ability in the reserves, now all he needs to do is step that up a gear and transfer it into his first team play...

Forget the reserves Ben, what has he done in the first team to convince you he has what it takes ?

I actually like to hear what's going on at other clubs aswell, i know some don't like that but i think it's great.

I don't think most mind hearing about other clubs, it's when fans of other clubs find out about it, start joining and then start asking questions about their club - that's when it becomes very annoying. Just slightly less annoying than the '11 o'clocker' questions.

he's only had a few games, give the lad a chance, he showed some neat touches today against one of the best left backs in the game.

Some neat touches ? What were they ?

Rememeber him getting a corner when I thought it was foul, but after that i'm struggling to think of anything positive. There was a shot at goal he should have taken but dilly dallied and the opportunity went.

he got past ashley cole a few times as well if u think back. Yes he did do a few mistakes, but that is bound to happen to a kidd who has not played a lot premership football (due to nerves e.t.c). But he also showed me he has got a talent as well and with some game time under his belt, he might well be one for the future!

I too thought Doran didnt disgrace himself when he came on. I was sat watching it with 3 other people and we all felt that considering his age and size he did pretty well.

Ashley Cole tried to Bully him early on and he didnt take any of it and wasnt scared. He also tracked back Essien fairly well too and then won a free-kick. He seems to have decent pace and isnt afraid to take his man on. Considering his limited chances so far have included Liverpool & Chelsea away, I think he has showed abit of promise.

He turned the ball over and then ran like mad to get goalside of the Chelsea man and then drew the foul.Showed some speed in that little manouvre.

Kept up with Essien (who is no slouch) as well when the ref played on after a foul.

I think some people are being harsh on Doran, only just turned 18 years old and playing against probably the second best side in England and one of the best in Europe.

I agree this becomes irritating, a way round it would be disabling new accounts during the transfer windows but thats just me being grumpy.

Chelsea had Petr Cech and Cudicini (who could have walked into any Premiership side). Man. City have Shay Given and Joe Hart.

The same Cudicini that can't get ahead of a very dodgy Gomes at Spurs? I rate him as a keeper but theres something not right with him.

Joe Hart is young and not a number 1 imo, although Birmingham may disagree and take him on loan. He has a way to go before he should command a first team place, he got it by default.

Brunt is the only one from West Brom which I would consider.

Chris Brunt would be a superb addition to our squad. He would be the perfect player to give Morten a kick up the ass. Wouldn't be at all suprised if he took his starting XI place off him either...
