mark
both were out of favour under ince, anyone else have the feeling we're gonna see them playing and back in form under sam? we could maybe add zurab that list too? for me, those three will be a real boost to the first team.. RibbleValleyRover
We will have to wait and see. I think Sam will go to the players and say new manager=clean slate. Its then up the players to prove their worth to the team.
John
Ince never actually commented on Vogel and his situation? We only heard from JW saying he was free to talk to other clubs. He has not even been involved in any reserve team games, so he cannot be that fit currently.
philipl
Agreed RvR Add Zura, Peters and Gallagher to that list (Sturrock is desperate to talk to Sam about Plymouth's leading scorer staying there). Both Vogel and Benni are archetypal Sam players- old, top drawer in their prime but young enough to get fantastic performances out of still. A cup of beans
Ince never actually commented on Vogel and his situation? We only heard from JW saying he was free to talk to other clubs. He has not even been involved in any reserve team games, so he cannot be that fit currently. ince previously spoke to radio lancs, regarding vogel, probably around the middle of october. to paraphrase, and from memory - "vogel is a good player, but he isnt as good as the other midfielders we have at the club." i will try and find aecord of it somewhere, john. i think sam will def get the best out of mccarthy. But if he cant, benni will be the 1st out of the door.
scotchrover
Benni will have a rocket up his backside by the time satuarday comes round. Vogel plays the ball round in the middle for Sam's likeing.

den
On Radio Rovers after the game, Sam was talking about Benni. He remembers how good a player Benni was, when Sam was at Bolton. He said he's going to do all in his power to get him back to where he was. Hopefully we can get Benni back to being a 20 goal a season man. If we can do that our chances of surviving this season will increase immeasurably. Early days though, so we will see. I reckon if Sam can't get the best out of benni, then no-one can
1864roverite
I think the evidence was there for all to see. A rejuvenated McCarthy is everything that Rovers can wish for. You could see what the goals meant to him and he wears his heart on his sleeve. If anyone can get him going then its Sam.

joey_big_nose
I thought Benni might not be Sam's cup of tea but he played brilliantly today with a real work ethic. Roberts and him make a great partnership as they seem to know each others strengths and fully use the attacking areas of the pitch. Cruz and Benni on the other hand drift into the same areas. It will be interesting to see how our forward line shapes up over the next four matches or so.
dingles staying down 4ever
Interestingly according to the Mail, Benni would not have started in RSC would have been fit. Doe that mean Roberts would have started ahead of Benni if RSC was fit http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...arts-style.html
Bobby G
Great work ethic by Benni and I hope it wasnt a case of first match for the new man, then Im back to my old lazy self.

Benni seems to not liking playing second fiddle and had his nose put of joint by RSC. Is it coincidence that Benni's best game for Rovers appears to be when RSC is heading out of the door?
