Have to say that all 4 English clubs have glamour ties in which individually I would rate the English side marginally the stronger and therefore favourite to win each of their ties. Arsenal have the one Italian opponents their wonky form should still overcome, Chelsea have the Ranieri factor to contend with but should be too strong with Essien back by then, Liverpool and Man U get the benefit of 2nd legs at home and unless the credit crisis forces them to offload players in the January window should be too strong for their illustrious opponents.

So a real chance for all the Big four to get through and wipe out three of the non-English favourites in the process.

Barca could find Lyon a handful if the French side don't have to sell in January. Henk Ten Cate has a fantastic chance of making it into the last 8 with Panathanaikos.

Wouldn't be surprised if all the English teams got knocked out really. That would be hilarious. I use the word English only in the sense of where their grounds are though of course.

Some cracking ties there! IF the English clubs all go through then I can see a change in future Champions League draws where teams will be allowed to play against teams from the same country as soon as the group stages are complete.
