nicko Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 You also mentioned a while back that Chelsea were sniffing, I really find it hard to see him coming here. Only way would be because no other team would give him a first team slot at this moment. Chelsea are sniffing, but the kid genuinely wants to play...big advantage in any talks. They resisted trying to take him in a swap for Bridge because his price would have been inflated in the deal. They could take him in the summer if they like...and do the tribunal thing. That last part was just for our muddled friend at the top of the page.

benlloninho Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 We should do a straight swap: RSC for Sturridge
The Prof. Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 We should do a straight swap: RSC for Sturridge I think Sturridge probably has a little less to offer just now than an on form RSC but In a few years I would think Sturridge will be a great player.
socngill Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Nicko, seen a few reports today that Cruz is surprised that we turned down a £16m bid (or reportedly £16m). Is that an accurate figure???

I think the numbers are lost in translation...I think a guaranteed and 'clear' £15 million gets him...maybe soon. I think Sturridge probably has a little less to offer just now than an on form RSC but In a few years I would think Sturridge will be a great player. An interesting stat on that... Roque has scored two goals in 10 Premier League games since he signed that new contract. Sturridge has scored three goals in 13 Premier League games [some as sub] since the start of the season.
MeanGreenMachine Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Is there any actual genuine interest in sturridge?
walk down bolton road Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Nicko sorry if i missed anything but any news on the spanish winger you hinted at a day or so ago ?.
nicko Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Nicko sorry if i missed anything but any news on the spanish winger you hinted at a day or so ago ?. There are two Spanish-based players on the radar right now. Seitaridis at Atletico Madrid - who shoud be watched tonight. And another right back who is going elsewhere I believe...
Presty On Tour Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 For those of you wanting to do your own scouting report on the Greek right back, the Barca game is on sp1 tonight @9pm.
Mc Love Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Facebook is fecked now, trying to see if this will submit Guess it worked then! Joy to the world
thenodrog Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Better to get the money and pick the ones you want. And bid for Sturridge AFTER you trouser the City dough. Can you put that in bold Alan? I can get lots of daft sods on here to comprehend, maybe they'll listen to you better. This swap / part ex stuff is plain stupid.
AggyBlue Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Aha, we're back up. So Givet is in on loan with an option to buy. What's the situation with Zoro? I've been told Janko is the striker option if Santa leaves, is this right?

I've been told Janko is the striker option if Santa leaves, is this right? I guess he is. Mr. Nixon did a piece in the mirror on that today. Seen it on the website. So he must be the target he was refering too if Roque leaves. Seeing as it's been two days without an update, things may have got hectic, and we just don't know.
TugaysMarlboro Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Dont hold your breath Dr! I have been doing and it's starting to hurt.

Plus we may need a striker now not in a few months time. We dont have a fraction of the sort of money required to twist City's arm, our only leverage is RSC and if we dont use that then surely we can forget Sturridge?

Apply that logic and it'll be Santa Cruz being used as make weight for Sturridge! If it appears that Sturridge is the key to the deal then City will value him at £15mill and not budge forcing Rovers to take little cash from the deal. If we are to sell RSC then straight cash is the answer not a player swap
alexanders Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Did anybody watch Seitaridis against Barca? Apparently JW was present to watch him in action.
