Mr Creosote Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 In reply to the Hughes hates us posters, that particular problem was started by Ince slagging off Hughes and Bowen when the players reacted badly to the first two training sessions under Ince and the pensioners. It got worse by Ince loudly blaming Hughes for leaving an inadequate playing squad when the results started slipping. The final words of that Sum article are worth repeating: But Allardyce hit back: “I don’t give two hoots if they decide to look elsewhere. The money is not important to me. “What is the money going to do for me? There are no players out there you can hang your hat on and go and buy. “Nobody as good as Roque Santa Cruz is, anyway. “Mark Hughes put pressure on me? I don’t think so.” Having not been an Allardyce fan I am warming to him. Not since Kenny have we had a manager who spoke like that.

DasGelb Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 A striker at 1 mill. sounds like someone based in South America with contract running out.
EwoodGlory Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 striker for £1m-------Trevor Francis? Wasn't he £999,999 according to Cloughy Didn't want him to get big headed becuase he was the first £1m player. I can't think of anyone yet.
Hi Mack Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 1Million? how much is Kaka going for? Could be him!
Backroom Tom Posted January 17, 2009 Backroom Posted January 17, 2009 It could be 1% of Kaka, oh how I'd love for this guy to score more than him.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Kaka's right nostril? Probably would get us a few goals. Has Lita gone anywhere yet? He is out of contract in the summer, I still think he would be a decent backup option and would pace off the bench, must be available for less than £1 million. As for the foreign striker who is relatively unproven... that could be anyone!! Maybe it is Grabbi??
mohelger Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Mark Bunn is on the bench today, more to suggest that Jason Brown is on his way out?
Balwer Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Mark Bunn is on the bench today, more to suggest that Jason Brown is on his way out? I noticed that too. Brown hasn't had a chance to play for Sam yet but Bunn impressed in the Blyth game and I think he will be the number 2 by the end of this window. Brown will likely go to a Championship team or maybe League One, best of luck to him but I prefer Bunn.
PAFELL Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 ROVERS STRIKER - Bit of experience, but a little untried. Sounds like a squad man to be honest. Name him tonight...but feel free to buy the Sunday People instead. Mellor of PNE PALACIOS - Man City are in hard, Man U not [yet]. Good player. Lots of other stuff flying around, have to go.
EwoodGlory Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Mark Bunn is on the bench today, more to suggest that Jason Brown is on his way out? He's been linked with Sheff Utd for a £1m move recently, I would have thought Kenny would have to leave first? After watching the Burnley games recently, Nicko should tell his mate to go for him
joey_big_nose Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 MELLOR?! Oh God.. Um, he is a bit like Kevin Davies....
PAFELL Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 MELLOR?! Oh God.. I am just - like others on here - guessing as to who Nicko is on about.
Captain Spaulding Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Unless 'Scouse' is considered abroad, then I think we're ok on the Mellor front!
PAFELL Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Unless 'Scouse' is considered abroad, then I think we're ok on the Mellor front! Thanks, just re - read Nicko's post where he said ' abroad'. That is a relef.
Majiball Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Janko Bid in progress £7M, who'd have thought it.
Mr. E Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Janko Bid in progress £7M, who'd have thought it. They're offering more money, we're offering him premier league football (hopefully)....let's hope he as a say in the matter.
Majiball Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 They're offering more money, we're offering him premier league football (hopefully)....let's hope he as a say in the matter. Salzburg are Rich they will hold out for what they want.
alexanders Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 €7 million. Which means approx 6,4 million pounds.
Rovers in America Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 €7 million. Which means approx 6,4 million pounds. The title says "over €7 million" but in the article itself it says €7.7 million (7 mil pounds)
alexanders Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 According to french canal+ we are going to sign Jean Calve - Nancy right fullback.
benhben Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Sounds a good player than Janko. 6 ft 5, 48 goals in 50 odd games. Are there no reports of a winger coming our way? Still cant believe we havent signed one.
Bobby G Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Really? What did it say exactly? Looks like we overlook Chretien for his understudy?
alexanders Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Translated from French: Broadcast on Canal +, one could hear that Jean Calvé could join Blackburn. After Gaël Givet, Blackburn is about to make a new loan French defender. This time, the right side of Nancy, Jean Calvé, who joined the club this summer, from Le Mans. Calve a Blackburn
