T4E Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Nicko said last night that the FSP thing is guess work as we were at the Atletico game trying to scout Seitaridis.

Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Ya I cant see signing Gueye, and another striker. Unless Roque goes, there is no need for another striker if we are getting the Senegalese boy.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Sturridge fails the acid test: if the Express is the only paper reporting it, it's not true. That paper's track record is hilariously bad when it comes to gossip and rumours.
nicko Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Sturridge is going to sit out the season, see what happens at Man City and then decide whether to sign a contract or not. That is from about as close to the horse's mouth as you can get - without getting drool on you.
imy9 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Nicko- do you think that we will sign a right sided midfield player in the window or is that still not a priority position for managment?
alexanders Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I know Nicko said that we were watching Seitaridis, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that we were watching FSP as well.
Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 It doesnt. But nicko seems certain we are signing Gueye, so I cant see how we are signing another striker too.
nicko Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 RIGHT WINGER - Looking around for one, but no-one specific getting mentioned...that I have heard about. ATLETICO MADRID TRIP - Seitaridis was the one to be watched, Sinama is a bit too expensive for the current budget.
rovers1993 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 nancy played last night. nicko, was there any rovers scout watching chrieten? he played last night although they did lose 3-0...
vyeo Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Nicko - Thanks for the excellent reporting. Noticed that your latest article in People states that Moyes is considering Bentley, and that Bentley and Spurs are open to offers. Any idea who else is sniffing and whether we're in the running? Thanks.
Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 For those who have watched both Calve and Chretien, how do they compare? How have they both been playing? Calve has started 7 times with 10 games in total, and Chretien has started 12 matches this season. The People also says we are keen on Sinama, so thats two papers. Mirror says we want Sturridge for Roque as well. One of the other papers says that we have told Gallagher he can leave us.

Noticed that your latest article in People states that Moyes is considering Bentley, and that Bentley and Spurs are open to offers. Any idea who else is sniffing and whether we're in the running? Thanks. Bentley to Everton isn't mine. Total tosh. nancy played last night. nicko, was there any rovers scout watching chrieten? he played last night although they did lose 3-0... I think Rovers are in Spain today...know more later.
Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Bentley to Everton isn't mine. Total tosh. I think Rovers are in Spain today...know more later. We are in Spain to watch a right back who we know wont start?
nicko Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 We are in Spain to watch a right back who we know wont start? Different match.
tony gale's mic Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ja...ster-city-milan Any truth in this story nicko? It seems totally, totally at odds with evrything every paper has been reporting.
Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Interesting. Are we still interested in Seitaridis or is that one definitely off? I rate him as one of the best right backs in Europe but that was before his injuries. Niggling injuries have affected him alot.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Almeria v Atletico Madrid Athletic Bilbao v Valencia Getafe v Racing Santander Malaga v Espanyol Real Madrid v Osasuna Recreativo Huelva v Sporting Gijon Valladolid v Real Betis Villarreal v Mallorca SOme (wishful) guesswork. Espanyol - Finnan. Athletico - Sinama, Seitaridis. Villareal - Mati Fernadez, Cazorla, Nihat, Altidore. Real Madrid - Saviola.
thenodrog Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Bentley to Everton isn't mine. Total tosh. Would it still be tosh if Arteta were to be sold? Similar players imo.
Bobby G Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Almeria v Atletico Madrid Athletic Bilbao v Valencia Getafe v Racing Santander Malaga v Espanyol Real Madrid v Osasuna Recreativo Huelva v Sporting Gijon Valladolid v Real Betis Villarreal v Mallorca SOme (wishful) guesswork. Espanyol - Finnan. Athletico - Sinama, Seitaridis. Villareal - Mati Fernadez, Cazorla, Nihat, Altidore. Real Madrid - Saviola. Wishful Finnan??? He just came back from injury so wont play. We arent at the Atletico game according to nicko so it wont be either, and anyway neither would start, especially Seitaridis. Mati Fernandez doesnt start for them. Cazorla would cost 15-20 million, and so would Nihat. Altidore is very young and on the bench. I am thinking it will be a right back whoever it is...
nicko Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ja...ster-city-milan Any truth in this story nicko? It seems totally, totally at odds with evrything every paper has been reporting. Man City have bid - the player said his goodbyes last night - Dada Kaka is in Milan tomorrow - the agents are due in Manchester with the player after that. That sounds like City have a good chance to me. Milan want to sell, which is the key point. I'm sure the player is happy where he is but there is so much money to be made on the back of him that it should happen for those financial reasons. Are we still interested in Seitaridis or is that one definitely off? I rate him as one of the best right backs in Europe but that was before his injuries. Niggling injuries have affected him alot. I like Seitaridis a lot, but he may be expensive - even on loan - and there are doubts about his fitness. Those doubts only increased when the manager went to see him and he cried off. Others are being considered. Most decent quality. And one is in this week for a trial. Would it still be tosh if Arteta were to be sold? Similar players imo. Man City like Arteta, but he is £20 million. And they seem to have moved on to other players they can get their hands on fast like Palacios, maybe even De Jong and the boy Kaka.
alexanders Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Have the player we are watching tonight been linKED before? Can you tell us the position he is playing?
nicko Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Is the player we are watching tonight been watched before? Can you tell us position he is playing? He has been watched. He is a bit of an in-betweenie who can play a couple of roles. Don't want to go into any more detail until I know the reaction to his performance.
alexanders Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Thank you a lot for the information you give us
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 SOme (wishful) guesswork. Espanyol - Finnan. Finnan failed a medical during the week with a premier league club, think it was Fulham? So that means stay will clear!! We have enough injury prone players as it is. Valenica at Wigan would be nice but the prices being put on his head are unrealistic.
The Rover of Finland Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 He has been watched. He is a bit of an in-betweenie who can play a couple of roles. Don't want to go into any more detail until I know the reaction to his performance. Ex-Pool Garcia?
