anything on calve, chrieten, soterietes (sp) and the other player we were watching in spain?

Calve is here...don't know if Chretien was watched at the weekend...Seitaridis was only a rub-a-dub...keeping the other Spaniard quiet until I know more.

ROQUE - The timing of the Man City offer is sadly down to them.

The timing of our refusal isn't.

We could do with the money without a doubt and his wages are high but the cost of relegation would staggeringly outweigh the profit of sellling him now or biding our time.

Oh and who tf wants to be beholding to a bunch of Arabs? History tells us that we shouldn't trust those bguggers further than we could throw em.

There you go. Hundreds of millions of people written off as untrustworthy.

I've missed this other Spaniard thing - what position?

The bad news is that this could run until the window is about to shut...which is the nightmare scenario.

Selling Roque at 23:59 on deadline day is no good to man nor beast. We should have set a deadline of today otherwise it's up yours. I'd still rather have roque than the cash for Sam to blow on some potential waster

Unless City's bid is £25m :rover:

You can trust em if you want creosote.

Personally I'm just bloody glad that I am not a Man City supporter. All fine and dandy now BUT mark my words it'll end in tears. They might well be competeing with FC Utd rather than Man Utd before you know it.

City are a financial behemoth. They seem intent on throwing their weight about and I'm not certain that I like the cut of Gary Cook's gib. They are on the verge of forcing Milan into selling a player they didn't want to lose. We can't stand up to them and it would seem that RSC is off to Beswick  whether we like it or not and at a time of Ci'eh's choosing.

I'm not sure untrustworthy is the word I'd use but they are notoriously difficult to deal with in a business sense. Their culture means that often they tell you what you want to hear and then when it comes down to it, what you think has been agreed is not what they think has been agreed. Whatever City do ends in tears anyway so why it should be any different with arab owners than it's been with every other owner/management team they've had since the days of Joe Mercer, I do not know.

Bent is very very average - no wonder Spuds would sell at £10M

I would rather pay the £1.2M for Lita that QPR have offered and trouser the change for another player.

Bent is definately one of those players that I think a team like Rovers could get a lot more out of than Spurs. With a stable place in the side, encouragement, freedom and support he would do well. Also I think he would be an ideal parter for McCarthy, and also he has a proven premiership scoring record.

On the other hand 10m is far too high for him. 6m would be more realistic, but unlikely due to his nationality. Don't think it will happen unless Spurs join the race for Cruz or they decide they desperately need the cash.

I agree. Bent just needs a change of scenery. His confidence appears to be shot to bits. No surprise in that hell hole. He'll score goals in the PL.

Spurs back in for Palacios in a big way...interesting test for Man City.

Slight Rovers relevance [because of Roque and how City do business].

Apologies if not.

Hope Spurs dont get him. He's just what they need. Is he not happy and settled here in the NW?

He is exactly hat Spurs need, that's why they are offering big money to him now.

The lad was genuinely unimpressed by them at first - or the thought of London.

Money talks and he may be easily led by his agents.

Spurs have a big argument in their favour. They can guarantee him a game.

Man City is a bit mad...nobody knows who is going to play there.

you're missing a trick here. city's owners want kaka. hughes wants roque. sparky is no financial behemoth

im sure he wouldnt grumble at kaka though

Might start though if he tries to drop him for some reason and the owners want to know why. he's ahd a little taste of that already with his current brazilin players. Imagine the uproar in Abu Dhabi if they buy Kaka and Hughes just thinks the game is not for him and benches him occasionally.
