Some two-bob site tonight has him claiming Villa have bid for him along with Bolton's loan offer - reckon Rovers might be in there? Don't mean to butt in but it is quotes from the player himself saying On 19 January 2009, in an interview with a Russian football website it was confirmed that Pogrebnyak was close to signing for Aston Villa FC for €9 million. Pogrebnyak said " Aston Villa have shown alot of interest and i know that they have made an offer, if all goes well i will soon be leaving for England
LessThanJake Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 you can butt in - Im of a Villa persuasion as well as Rovers and Carlisle. What a tangled web my family has weaved.

On 19 January 2009 23.40pm, in an interview with a Russian football website it was confirmed that Pogrebnyak was close to signing for Blackburn Rovers FC for £1 million. Pogrebnyak said " Blackburn have shown alot of interest and i know that they have made an offer, if all goes well i will soon be leaving for England"

mode_m Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Ahaha for what it is worth I think it is a load of rubbish Is this the sort of player you lot are looking at if you sell Roque? Yeah it is between him and Kaka, and doesn't look like Kaka wants to leave Seriously though if Roque leaves I would be more interested in the money being spent on other positions aside from Striker right now.
walk down bolton road Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 What a relief to not see the most ridiculous amount of money being spent on football Question who's going to be their next target... Messi? Ronaldo? Fowler? Paul Ince ?.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Looking like its got worse for Citeh according to the Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...s-training.html Robinho stormed out of a training camp? If true Sparky's days are numbered IMO and therefore the end of the interest in Roque. Heard anything about this Nicko?
thenodrog Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Can't get over the Kaka thing...some of the Man City people are just looking like complete fools...how does Gary Cook talk his way out of this one? Unbelievable. Even worse for Hughes cos he's been well overdoing the 'I am the driving force behind the Kaka deal' so much that now the Ayrabs have a self declared scapegoat for their humiliation...... and those buggers don't like being publically humiliated. I don't think he'll survive much longer now.
Ewood and I Would Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Every new bid for Santa Cruz from now on should be met simply with this being faxed back....

If true Sparky's days are numbered IMO and therefore the end of the interest in Roque. Heard anything about this Nicko? He must be the one that warned Kaka not to join City. It doesn't say in that report but it's believed he's fecked off back to Brazil. I'm convinced corries scriptwriters are involved in all this somewhere
tony gale's mic Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Earlier, Italian Premier and Milan president Berlusconi returned from a Gaza peace summit in Egypt and held a 90-minute meeting over Kaka with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. Let's not forget what a truly bizzare club AC Milan are too. But at least they're a club with pedigree and traditions.
philipl Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Every new bid for Santa Cruz from now on should be met simply with this being faxed back.... Nice except those are dollar bills! Sterling hasn't devalued that far yet.
Mr. E Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 So, Kaka proves that there are a few players out there who would not chose the bigger contract over the club they supposedly feel an obligation to. Unlike people like Duff, Bellamy, Bentley, Friedel...
thenodrog Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 So, Kaka proves that there are a few players out there who would not chose the bigger contract over the club they supposedly feel an obligation to. Unlike people like Duff, Bellamy, Bentley, Friedel... That list is endless and certainly not just from BRFC. How about adding billy big times like Zidane, Beckham, Rooney, Henry Berbatov, Keane etc etc and just about every player in every squad in the entire premier league.
AggyBlue Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 So, Kaka proves that there are a few players out there who would not chose the bigger contract over the club they supposedly feel an obligation to. It's been said on SSN that after waiting eight days for City to conclude the deal after the price had been agreed, Kaka felt that City were just using him for publicity and thus decided to call off the move.

That is even better. City have wrecked this transfer window by - talking high numbers and offering low deluding their own supporters - pushing wages up another stupid ratchet when the implosion at Pompey and West Ham should have reduced pressure - been incredibly slow wrecking the ability of at least half the league to do business sensibly. I wonder if Robinho is going to end up at Chelsea? I guess that would seal £40m for Roque.
BRFC1995 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 the sun thinks we,ve sounded out stoke for Faye, not opposed to it, not much to shout about either. Robinho gone walk about back to brazil for his birthday after row with hughes, so funny........i'd love them to go down so much.
doctorryan Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 ROBINSON BAD FRIEDEL GOOD Argument over are you Chewbaccca? are you Han Solo? I've never known of any earthlings who can understand the furry @#/?.
roversmad95 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 40 million is never going to happen.. i want 100 million pounds for my self. just becuase i said it doesnt mean im going to get it. if someone said to me heres 10 grand id take it even though its now where near 100 million he only said 40 million as that is how much we will get if we stay in the prem... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2148378.ece
dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Every new bid for Santa Cruz from now on should be met simply with this being faxed back.... City now have some spare cash.......should be faxed back £60 million. Its not like they are going to need it for Kaka
dave birch Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 The chances that Roque will leave have increased dramatically. Sam has set his stall with a 40mil quote. There'll be negotiations downwards, but I think we'll get a fair(from a size point) wedge out of it. It will be a stupid amount, and most certainly not worth it, but if they want him, why should we let a fool, who wants to splash the cash, not throw some in our direction. The only proviso I would make is that they do it soon. Two to three days at the most. Oh, and cash, in full, no payments over 5 years.
Bobby G Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Two things have emerged in last couple of days. Publicly we have stood firm in the transfer dealing with City and in fact our position has strengthened considerably compared to when Sam took charge and said he wants to leave. Secondly, City have failed to sign Kaka, which means desperation can kick in, and I would be very unhappy if we only got 15 million for him now. Maybe 15 million plus add-ons up to 20 million at least. I have a feeling we will reel in Janko quickly if we decide to sell.
Guest Kamy100 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 This morning's lancashire telegraph reports that Rovers are close to signing Zoro. Also comments from Sam that he may only sign one more player, he wants quality players who can go straight into the first team, they are impossible to get in January. He also says that he has a 'Limited Budget'.
Bobby G Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Zoro? Ahhhhh no please...Possibly a poor man's Ooijer. No point getting a centerback and play him on the right. Either get a proper right back or nothing. I do hope Gueye does sign as he sounds potentially an exciting gem.
