Esulx Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Would love to see this in the news tomorrow... Robinho tells Kaka not to come to Citeh because they're hopeless and promises made to him wont ever likely be fulfilled. Sparky hears this and has a huge argument with Robinho in Tenerife over a sambuca in an 18-30 bar. Robinho exits stage left to Brazil citing 'family reasons' and tells the Saudi's that it's "either him or me". Too much imagination???

I just wish he'd done all that carry on whatever it was and cleared off back to Brazil before Christmas!
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 WOW - Might be in the news pages tomorrow...three papers know the story but it is obviously a difficult one...the new Ronnie Biggs?...if you knew the legal issues involved you would know why I can't go into detail. Oi! you pinched that one off me! I claim 10% Ronnie Biggs? see!
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Cant we negotiate with Danny Sturridge now with him being out of contract in less than 6 months??? Thought we could. Only if we're a club from a different association
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Julien Faubert the next one out of West Ham, he was highly rated when they signed him but he's never really shown anything over here. Right back or right wing, worth a look?
philipl Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Julien Faubert the next one out of West Ham, he was highly rated when they signed him but he's never really shown anything over here. Right back or right wing, worth a look? Faubert was going on a sale to Nantes I think it was but West Ham are paying him over-Egged wages and the deal fell through. Would be exactly the same problem for us. Looked to be pretty decent when he came on as sub v Fulham. Just read that Lyon now expect to sign him.
nicko Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Can we leave the 'other club' questions to PMs please? And any Brazilian issues will not be mentioned either. Thanks, The Journalist. On Sturridge. Man City can afford NOT to sell because they have the money. The player is happy there just now and willing to see how things pan out in the summer. I don't think that swap can happen...but you could work on getting him later. In the meantime other Roque replacements are being checked out - price, availability, etc. Don't press on names because I have no idea about the pecking order - apart from Janko being probably number one.

Cocker Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Can we leave the 'other club' questions to PMs please? In addition to the above can you remember this:- Right, here's the final warning for those who appear to be a bit hard of thinking!!! This thread is Nicko's thread. It's a thread to talk about rumors and stories that Nicko posts on here (are you keeping up so far.....good!!) It's also a place to ask him Rovers based questions (not questions about other teams.... are you still with me.... great!!!) Thats the end of it. guess where the debate about Paul Ince goes....... yep, you got it in one.... the PAUL INCE thread!!!! Hope that's not too tricky for you all. Next person who takes this off topic will be banned until the end of the transfer window so they can't take it off topic again. Simple as that. If you get banned for not remembering this don't come crying to the mods. Thanks
OJRovers Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Big Sam probably had the players go to Ewood to analyse the Newcastle game good points (second half) and bad points(first half). He is into all the technology and the media theatre at Ewood is probably the best room for everyone to be able to see the screen and listen to what they are saying.
nicko Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 nicko... any input on the "d9 bent" thing or the real reason for all the players being at ewood? No idea on the plate. The players were in for some kind of presentation - Sam used to do that at Bolton all of the time - he is big on breaking down the season into sections and getting into their heads. Seems to be working so far.

nicko Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 interesting. do you know what kind og sections he divides it into? month to month? so they work after a monthly "points budget"? would be nice to know more about how they work, if its ok Sam used to set targets at Bolton at the start of the season, break the games down into quarters [or near it] and set realistic points totals they should achieve. It helps at a 'smaller' club because you can be realistic but you also need the comfort of knowing you are never too far below what is expected and get depressed. I would imagine at Rovers - where the fixture has some nasty spells - that he will be working on something similar but one aimed at keeping them focussed on keeping their heads even when results dip - as they may do. That was how he did it at Bolton, I imagine it is what he will apply at Rovers. Breaking own rule here... Palacios is signing for Spurs.
Bennisfromheaven Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Mark Hughes did that too. No doubt it was drummed into em all on the required coaching course. .....& we wonder why Ince failed!?!
thenodrog Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Breaking own rule here... Palacios is signing for Spurs. Hughes's cup of woe runneth over. I guess Spurs will have been suckered into paying big money in wages. Lets hope that is the case and the rest of the squad get disgruntled.

The boy genuinely did not want to go to London for personal reasons that I don't want to go into, but in the end the money was good. Great signing. Real player. *Rovers-related because it is two relegation rivals.
Eddie Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 nah.... we don't want him doesn't look that good to me... he just looks like another moody french man... He's a pretty decent player, worth a look although it won't happen.
The Rover of Finland Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Nicko, is there a chance Spurs would sell Huddlestone? They have now Palacios, Jenas and Zokora there. I think the guy is a huge potential and would be great CM with Dunny.

The key is that you drive that info, not fans of other teams asking questions.
Bennisfromheaven Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Bigger chance now. But one question...Redknapp is no fool - why does he not play him? Have you heard anything about the guy that would put us off signing him? His manner, attituted, injury prone or hes just not that good etc? Also, it sounds like Jenas might want to leave so that could keep Huddlestone at the club!

Also, it sounds like Jenas might want to leave so that could keep Huddlestone at the club! I think Huddlestone is just a bit 'soft' and wants to play too much, which is not ideal for the bottom of the table. He has talent, but might go missing in the hand-to-hand combat coming up. Jenas wants out too - I think both could go. Anyway, on a Rovers note. Your man Janko is popular...http://www.lequipe.com/Football/breves2009/20090121_105053_hoffenheim-sur-janko-et-jovanovic.html
MeanGreenMachine Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Bigger chance now. But one question...Redknapp is no fool - why does he not play him? Harry likes his all action midfielders, not a sitter like huddlestone? Imo closest sort of player to tugay in prem.
