Guest Kamy100 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 How would people feel about Roque going to Liverpool and Keane coming the otherway as part of a swop deal? Rafa is a fan of Roque and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he could decide to move for him. Although I dunno if Keane would want to join us.

A good idea but it would make banking the best part of £10m a little difficult wouldn't it?
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Media speculation, or our City final going to stump up the asking price for RSC, if there is one. Nicko ???????? Bull IMO. Full story from the MEN. Final Bid Whoop's philipl beat me to it in the Transfer links.
Majiball Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 She was also the same woman that refused to sell Desmond a ring in a flashback, she told him he is meant to have second thoughts, I preume it be Daniels mum. Sorry waaay off topic. Red Shoe Lady, defo Danny's mum. Lost does exactly as it says on the packet. Well its the last week, guess we'll find out what dollar we have

That struck me last night as well apart from the problem that LFC are skint. Hopefully there is some actual movement in that direction to make City wake up or go away. Incidently, I very much agree with FLB's comment- a bit of oil in the engine is a very good thing! Rod Liddle pours scorn on the transfers done so far this window His relegation review will upset more than 50% of all teams in the Prem!
nicko Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Man City believe they will sign Roque and Sam was out watching a replacement. It has always needed two things to happen...[1] the right fee and [2] the right price for someone to come in and take his place. I don't know how the target did last night and what he will cost. That's today's mission.

Majiball Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I wonder who Sam went to watch. I hope it was soldado of Getafe, nice hat-trick yesterday. Goitom scored. Zigic scored as well. uche as well.
alexanders Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Heard anything about Dzeko Nicko? Might he be an option?
Bobby G Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Ill bet its going to be a loan for Zigic, or second back up option is Uche... Best case would be Janko... Overall disappointed. Id like to hope if we sell him, we get in a couple more players too.

Zigic is on loan at Racing so if anything it would have to be a permant transfer then provivded he can be released from his loan he would come. Janko, I've said my piece, no thanks too big a risk with our dollar. TBH I'd hoped we would get in a loaner with reasonable pedigree and saved the cash for real transfer window.
Sandiway Blue Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Look on the bright side,if we leave it until the last day of the transfer window we get to watch `stroke boy` have a fit on Rovers signing some average joe..

Rafa is a fan of Roque and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he could decide to move for him. Although I dunno if Keane would want to join us. This could well work IMO, with Liverpool missing out on Heskey they probably still want a target man & with Roque being a younger & better player than Heskey that would make sence. Also, Roque would get the move to a champions league club & Robbie keane would be more likely to start more games! Makes sence on all fronts!!! ........except i hate Robbie Keane!!
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 TBH I'd hoped we would get in a loaner with reasonable pedigree and saved the cash for real transfer window. Saviola being banded about. Coach not interested in him, would like a move this window. ?????? Edit. Unbearable Saviola Ramos...move to a smaller club.

Far better than Roque going to Man City for 20m in my opinion. Roque would be going to a proper club, we would not be strengthening our relegation rivals, and we'll get someone of proven pedigree in. Keane has always struck me as someone who would do very well for us. He's probably someone who needs to be playing week in, week out, as one of the main men to perform. A little like Bellamy in that sense - good player who is somehow not quite good enough to make it at the big clubs, but would be an invaluable asset to mid-tier teams like us. If only it could happen.

Majiball Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Mark my words, if we dont spend the cash in this window, we will not see the light of day next summer where it is spent... Its a crap situation for us to be in. Sell RSC plenty of money to spend but no-one worth spending it on and silly Jan prices. I can't believe that the money would get swallowed up if not spent. Saviola being banded about. Coach not interested in him, would like a move this window. ?????? Good player, crazy wages though. Thoreau? The Philosopher??? Sorry you've lost me.
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Good player, crazy wages though. Maybe a loan option, with a 50/50 on wages.
modes98 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 How would people feel about Roque going to Liverpool and Keane coming the otherway as part of a swop deal? I touted that a months back, when Keane was frozen out. It would be a great deal for us, the only worry is that Keane would look to move on in 12 months. I would much prefer that move to getting £15m from City.
Eddie Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 The Philosopher??? Sorry you've lost me. Lo(a)ner.

I can't believe that the money would get swallowed up if not spent. to be fair though, 20million for roque is silly prices too. if we got paid that I would expect any club to ask for "their cut" - if you will- for any replacement we went in for.
