My salary and qualifications say otherwise. Although you know what they say about the general IQ of true football fans, which of course you are.

:D

I really hope we don't sell him. Then I can get back to critcising the manager for not signing a right winger and turning down 18m for a player that can't be arsed.

You are being quite smug considering Allardyce has made many of the samemistakes that Ince made and we aren't safe yet

Barry/Roque comparisons don't make sense, the history of both at their clubs is totally different. Barry has been Villa nearly his whole life and is on course to break the all time apps record for us, he didn't hate Villa overnight, he just wanted champs league when his stock was the highest he'd been. Remember that whatever nasty quotes came from his mouth, so did the quote 'If Aston Villa were in the champions league I would never even think about leaving this great club'

He wanted (wants) champions league football before his career is done. Roque doesn't have the same attatchment to Rovers as Barry did to Villa, combined with the fact that however unlikely...Barry has a chance of achieving what he wants here because there is money there to invest.

Looking at the replacements and prices I still think it's worth selling RSC. The replacements might be a bit expensive and not as good but RSC has barely contributed this season anyway, McCarthy looks good again, and you'd make a big profit from it even if the next striker was quite expensive. 19m is a great deal for him.

I bet you supported Ince. Blah blahblah. Don't need 18m roque is better than messi. Why would we need 18m blahblah blah.

Or something like that.

Roque Santa Cruz: 'Four or five clubs were interested in me, but it was Mark Hughes who made the difference'

So we are preventing him earning 100k p/w and from working with his dream manager. He is going to be desperate to play for us. Really desperate. Good job he is such a professional.

Are you real Bucky, how can you say Sam has made the same mistakes that Ince did?.

Sam has got us out of the bottom 3, still unbeaten, still in the Cup, sorted the defence out and not even splashed any cash on new players yet apart from signing Givet on loan.

Ince is not good enough to clean Sam shoes never mind manage a prem club!!

I'm not saying he's necessarily going to sulk, but it's not all hearsay. He's come out in several interviews and said that he wants to move. Whether it's a case of "I'm happy at Blackburn but would be happier at City" or if he's unhappy here remains to be seen. But just as it's silly to say that he 100% will sulk, it's equally silly to say that he 100% won't and that it won't affect his game.

Interviews which he has claimed were taken out of context! I know that could be him covering up his comments so he doesnt get into trouble but there is more evidence of Roque wanting to stay than wanting to leave!

If the fans make Roque feel uncomfortable or unwanted on the pitch of course he will leave, especially if there is 100 grand a week waiting for him in a big city, with a large fan base & connections to the rest of the world!

What we as fans should be doing is making Roque know that we dont want him to leave! chant his name, make him feel wanted & maybe that will bring back the form that we saw last year! But by suggesting that he wants out, is engineering a move away or booing him as was suggested earlier, when there is no evidence of him wanting out will cause bad feeling towards a player who we all know is capable of getting us out of the trouble we are currently in!!!

I said MANY of the same mistakes. I said mistakes because that is how they were described during the Ince regime:

Not signing a right winger (because he didn't have the scouting network and couldn't read)

Playing Keith Andrews (because he was his mate)

Playing Mokoena

Playing Derbyshire on the right wing

Do you not agree with that?

You can't say he hasn't made any of the same mistakes because we are winning. Ince won a few games, we even looked the part in some of the matches.

Don't forget Sam signed Alan Smith and Joey Barton, I would hardly consider him in the same league as Capello or Mourinho

Keith Andrews has looked the part under Sam, i agree he is still an average player but we have not got any other option but to play him because of injurys to key midfielders and the lack of transfer kitty that Sam has been given by the board, which is why he has not signed a right winger yet. Derybyshire and the axe have not played a lot of games under sam as well if you look closer.

Ince might of won was it 3 or 4 games while he was in charge at Ewood, but not once did i go to ewood or any away matches thinking that we are going to win this match with him charge, unlike what i feel now with Sam in charge. He has got the team playing like a team and gone back to basics by making us a very hard team to beat and given us every chance of staying in the prem.

Capello and Mourinho are among the very best of managers in the world, so that comment is just stupid.

back to topic now i say anyway, i wish i could merge this onto the sam or ince thread but sadly i can't

Bring back Shabani Nonda then on the cheap, reckon this strike trio would at least notch up a few goals.. even for half a season

Nonda's banging them in for Galatasaray according to Wikipedia. I thought he had dissapeared into oblivion and playing in Qatar or something.

So what you are saying is basically Ince and Sam have not done anything different. The only thing that has really changed is your perception?? We beat Stoke 3-0 and Sam said he hadn't even done anything. The new manager effect.

Why are we even talking about this? It was a flippant remark to Jal about not being smug about Ince before Allardyce has achieved anything. The point still stands and will stand until we are safe from the threat of relegation.

Not signing a right winger is not going to help our cause. As everybody stated under Ince. I was barracked for saying maybe Ince wants to wait until Jan before signing anybody. This wasn't good enough for anyone, he should have signed people in the summer. Now Sam appears to want to wait until the summer and this is supposed to be part of some big master plan. Crazy

if he has not got the money to spend on a new decent right winger Bucky, then Sam can not do anything. If santa goes though then maybe he might have some money to spend on new players. He could go out and buy an very average right winger now but if he is not going to improve the team what is the point.

Ince had two months to get a new rightwinger and it was in the summer when transfers are easier to make, Sam is working in this crazy window and no one is cheap or at a descent price. So now its better to wait. Thats not crazy it reason.

The key word being IF. Sam may well have money in his kitty but he's not stupid enough to spend for the sake of it, and has already said it is more difficult to buy players in January. With or without money from the Santa Cruz transfer, we're not likely to have the sort of transfer cash available that we have at the moment for a long time, so fair play to Sam and the club for wanting to be sure about targets before spending it.

Would it be rude to point out that the Egyptian lad Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, who says he is coming, is in fact a RIGHT WINGER!

Ironically Paul Ince brought him in on trial and Sam Allardyce seems to be ready to sign him.

Such harmony.

Gueye - the big Senegalese lad from Metz who was over last week - is signing for another French club Sedan on loan.

Doesn't sound like a great loss...

Sedan is a type of chair isn't it?

Anyhow, do you have any word on the validity on these reports of us signing that Egyptian right winger/right back? [edit]: Nicko's last message wasn't up when I typed this message.

See, a message without personal attacks, handbags or suchlike. Now behave people or I'll come and take your toys.

Quite a coupe for them wouldn't you say?

The Egyptian stated that he is coming over on loan then mentioned 1.5 million would this be a loan option to buy?

We know Rovers went to the game and the player's agent was with them...

The player seems to think he is coming after the Egyptian Cup final which is tantalisingly on February 2 - deadline day.

I have to say it could be BS, but I suspect the loan move is probably being discussed.

I don't know how he can play in the game, come in to sign AND get a work permit in a day.

If he can then he must be a bit special...

I knew that. I mentioned that the only RW we are being linked with was one Evil Ince tried to sign.

It's sweet irony and I'm starting to feel I am one of the only ones that sees it.

I'm tired of arguing. I can't even make a minor point without riling everyone. I'm thinking about suing some members.

No one is trying to upset you bucky, but when your write rubbish like sam has not done nothing yet since he has been at the club, that just makes people angry, because its quite crystal clear that Sam has changed things round at Ewood and any sensible fan would know that.

Ince might of signed a couple of good players like Grella, Robinson and might of found this lad that sam is reporting to be looking at, but his tatics on the pitch were not very pleasing on the eye at all.

According to the earlier link.

It said, several reports in Egypt that he had already signed, I assume you can apply for a work permit from outside of the UK, maybe that's why no official announcement yet, deal done subject to the permit.

The only way they could pull this off is if [a] he comes over and does his medical and agrees terms applies for a work permit and [c] goes back to Egypt long enough to play in the Cup final.

All of which is possible...but the deadline for signings is 3pm on that day HERE, so quite how this is going to work is beyond me.

You would need a Tardis to pull it off never mind a private jet.
