EwoodGlory Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Yeah, him. Portsmouth failed to sign him, so Sam probably picked him up at a guess. I heard he failed a medical.
PAFELL Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 so nicko, the zenit striker might still be on? and have olympiacos agreed a future fee for buying derbs? According to setanta - the russian has rejected a move to rovers - as a relegation battle is beneath him. Oh he also said no the everton. This really, if true may means he is afraid to test himself in the prem.
EwoodGlory Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Quote by his agent apparently Oleg Artemov told chempionat.tv: "Paul is not going to Blackburn. We have already discussed with him the issue and came to the opinion that this is not level of Pogrebnyak. "There were other options too, with Everton and Hoffenheim, but they too ceased to exist. Other offers have been received but it is unlikely that anything will happen before the transfer window closes. "He will remain with Zenit. He has another year on his contract with the club and I do not exclude that this agreement will be extended for a longer period of time. This work is under way."
donis1410 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 So that leaves us with Fred yes? I reckon we should move for jenas too!!!
EwoodGlory Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 From Independent Blackburn Rovers tell Harry Redknapp he will have to pay £22m for striker
I_saw_Batty_score Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ROQUE - Amazingly there is a rival bidder and an auction. Spurs have come in and are willing to pay £20 million. If Rovers want an auction they should try and get Rafa involved too. Torres looked well off-form tonight and Keane is at the wrong club. I reckon Roque could be massive for Liverpool and he would be available for the Champions League.
PAFELL Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Selling to fellow relegation rivals... no way. Unless rovers went for crouch at pompey, which could help pompey go down. so leaving wba, stoke and pompey relagated and rovers safe. Bent and bentley and huddlestone and no cash would be ok for me. But as I have had a lot of wine tonight, I am allowed a dream. Though bentley hasn't been doing all that good since he left. The timing of any 'over seas transfer' is in my opinion, pushing things a bit close to the deadline. But signing players, doing deals with uk teams makes life easier. Though rovers could also take the upper hand, sign the russian and say no to city and spuds with regards to RSC anyway. I must admit, according to tv highlights he played well tonight. Though I thought I saw RSC say to Bennie 'I hand balled it' and the bolton keeper wink in his right eye and that is the direction where bennie put the penalty kick. conspiriacy theorist eat your heart out. Rovers to beat Boro at the weekend, so 4 points clear of the relegation zone and a game in hand
donis1410 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Even more interesting.....well good night and we will see what tomorrow brings!!!!
beerwins Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 From Independent Blackburn Rovers tell Harry Redknapp he will have to pay £22m for striker Wouldnt surprise me 1 bit if spuds just doing it to throw a spanner in the works for city, wasnt there a bit of ill feeling over the palacios deal? man city never really wanted to sign him but im sure it didnt help spuds come to a an agreement over a price with wigan.
Backroom Tom Posted January 29, 2009 Backroom Posted January 29, 2009 Here's Nickos article, the striker watched is Dzeko http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-21079065/
broadsword Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Where to Spurs get their money from? Another right's issue?
joey_big_nose Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Interesting possibilities in terms of swap deals with Spurs. I am a fan of Huddlestone but he just does not seem like the kind of player we need right now. Jenas, although I have big reservations about his ability to tackle and fight, could fit into the side and would be a massive improvement on Andrews. Bentley is a player we need - but I sincerely doubt he would fancy coming back. Bent has talent but I can't see how we would play him in the current set up. Plus I think his wages are enormous. All in all the only one of those four I could see actually fancying a move to Rovers is Huddlestone. But I cannot see where he fits in with Grella already in the side. Jenas perhaps - but he hardly seems Allerdyce's type...
bonger 26 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 anyone watched Dzeco play is he any good? how old? dont think i would mind jenas he has decent pace and can split defences maybe 15 mil plus jenas would be a good deal as long as we got the right replacment even more so now as derb has gone
Blue n White Rover Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Dzeko is 22. Not sure if he is any good though. Derbyshire is having talks with Olympiakos, official website confirms it.
Antgrad Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I don't think we could have watched Dzeko in Wolfsburg's win last night. He didn't play.
Hughesy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I think Roque's non-reaction to the fans chants tonight showed that he will be off. £25m if we have an auction. Or either £20m + Sturridge or Bent + £18m. Interesting times ahead.
Paul Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I think Roque's non-reaction to the fans chants tonight showed that he will be off. Didn't see this as I shot out at FT but my lad, who was in the BBE, made the same remark. Watching last night I found myself thinking about the lack of signings, sadly one thought I had was this "what quality player would want to play in our current side / come to Ewood?" We have fallen a long way and I suspect the lack of transfer activity has as much to do with our performances as anything else. The idea of swapping RSC for a couple of Spurs makes me smile. London is a big draw so lets be realistic. Huddlestone swapping Spurs for Rovers? I don't think so. One can imagine a City player coming but not any from the south.

If RSC had made a big deal by clapping the fans, the press and TV would all have been full of Santa's good-bye this morning wouldn't they?
AndyNeil Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Fans read into a situation what suits their particular view point ... I think that we would be foolish to sell RSC - the real need is for a quality central midfielder, somebody who can drive the play forward.
Roost Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Tom Tomsk, is that not a Russian Sat Nav Now that is f**king hilarious.................

Guest Kamy100 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I heard at the game last night that Rovers are looking at bringing in Mahmadou Diarra from Real Madrid, he has not figured much this season and could be available, whether he wants to join Rovers of course could be another matter. Allardyce must like players named "Diarra" as also heard that we are looking at former Liverpool player Alou Diarra.
hawkiiz Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 hah! if the russian monster wont come because of our club stature, why on earth would anyone from real madrid come? i can see robinson talking one of his spurs friends to come, or warnock talking to some pool people. but who are they friends with? anyone know?

A professional sportsman will go where he is wanted. There are many players dahn sarf who would jump at the chance of regular first team Premier League football with Blackburn Rovers.
