67splitscreen Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The hungarian Nicko mentioned last night, Wiki says he is a striker who plays in MF for his Country. Has to be Darb's replacement to be here so quick. But...............

47er Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Nicko-----the Sun is quoting the "Egyptian Beckham" as saying a 6 month loan deal with Rovers is sorted and he's on his way. Is that correct? if so that presumably means no Spit.
gazsimm Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 i think we need a creative midfielder before the transfer window shuts, without Dunn in the team we look clueless in midfield as it showed in the 1st half last night against Horwich
gumboots Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 play 433 with 3 strikers against any team thats remotely adequete and we'll be destroyed. you need a 451 with two quick midfielders to play off the striker holding the ball up. As we dont have one of these, i'd prefer to stick with 442 so whats happening with this ruskie bloke? I wasn't suggesting playing it permanently. Just that last night it worked well inthose particular circumstances. I wouldn't presume to suggest tactics to anyone as I have little or rather no knowledge of them. Don't even play any of the footie games on the computer so don't even have a theoretical knowledge.
The Prof. Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The Spurs bid for Roque came in AFTER the Derbyshire-Olympiacos move was set up. Derbs goes, a replacement for him is due in. A better replacement for Roque will still have to be found. The Manchester paper story about City's final bid would have been written without the paper knowing about the Spurs development. So now we have a simple equation. Rovers CAN get more for Roque than expected because two clubs are in...but they have to get a replacement sorted out - and now they have more cash to spend. But no time to spend it.
mohelger Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Just to clarify - does the Derbyshire-deal include an option for Olympiakos to buy him at a set price as well?
67splitscreen Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Just to clarify - does the Derbyshire-deal include an option for Olympiakos to buy him at a set price as well? All the reports I have read (4-5) state no option to buy.
nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You're saying a replacement for Derbyshire is due in, Nicko, is that a loan or a permanent deal? I take it you have a name, being announced at 11 o'clock? It's a permanent...and I think it will come out sooner. Depends when the disco stops. DERBYSHIRE...I think there is a fee of £2.5 million agreed if he is a success...not sure how that is defined - games or whatever. HUNGARIAN...Trialist, could be a squad man...not central to the immediate plans but one for the future. EGYPTIAN...I think that one is in the lad's head now...if the new arrival is who I think he is then the Egyptian is off.
Antgrad Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's a permanent...and I think it will come out sooner. Depends when the disco stops. If it's going to come out you may as well tell us now, then we can add it to your scoop list.
Craigman Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's a permanent...and I think it will come out sooner. Depends when the disco stops. Is that Edin Dzeko (Disco) stopping in Lancashire Nicko ?
nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 If it's going to come out you may as well tell us now, then we can add it to your scoop list. No, let this one slither out in its own time. And I can't claim this one...don't want to either.
Bobby G Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 So new arrival isnt a striker, but rather a right back or right winger, cause that would clash with the Egyptian's position.
nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Is that Edin Dzeko (Disco) stopping in Lancashire Nicko ? Careful..it's like reading too much into pop lyrics... I mean disco as in 'last dance at the disco' and as in total desperation, anything with a pulse etc.
LeftWinger Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 No, let this one slither out in its own time. And I can't claim this one...don't want to either. Don't want to? Is it not good news from our point of view? Has Fowler re-signed ?
nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 So new arrival isnt a striker, but rather a right back or right winger, cause that would clash with the Egyptian's position. The new guy I hear is coming can play anywhere across the front line...doesn't score much. Can you tell what it is yet?
Sandiway Blue Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 No, let this one slither out in its own time. And I can't claim this one...don't want to either. Is he that bad?
dellinsert Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The new guy I hear is coming can play anywhere across the front line...doesn't score much. Can you tell what it is yet? Only points to one man for me, Diouf?
Sandiway Blue Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The new guy I hear is coming can play anywhere across the front line...doesn't score much. Can you tell what it is yet? Diouf? EDIT:Beat me to it Dell!
67splitscreen Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's a permanent...and I think it will come out sooner. EGYPTIAN...I think that one is in the lad's head now...if the new arrival is who I think he is then the Egyptian is off. A man of many positions then. is he a RB, RM or a good old winger. Edit tooooo slloooww.
thenodrog Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 No, let this one slither out in its own time. And I can't claim this one...don't want to either. Spit? Damn you two beat me too.
my_name_is_Earl Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The new guy I hear is coming can play anywhere across the front line...doesn't score much. Can you tell what it is yet? Rolf Harris? I'm having a guess at Alan Smith.....
hawkiiz Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The new guy I hear is coming can play anywhere across the front line...doesn't score much. Can you tell what it is yet? babel? that description suits everyone from spurs...
