There's only one thing worse than a tease, NICKO

If it doesn't come out I will tell you at 11pm.

If it does come out before that I will just shake my head.

That one is written and off to the Mirror already.

I'm concentrating on more serious matters like the 'Roque and a potential replacement' situation...

I have a worrying feeling it will be Harewood. He has played on the right before now when he's been needed there at Villa and his opportunities really are limited at Villa. Hmmmm......

Clue - it's not Harewood. He thinks he is going to Portsmouth.

I stress 'thinks' because I can't see any advantage in that for anyone.

By the way, Villa fans...John Carew played in a closed-door game yesterday and missed a penalty.

Diouf had big bust up with Ferdinand on Tuesday night & Quinn got involved. He will be shipped out before window closes & rumours up here are blackburn & 1 other want him

Can you confirm this Nicko

You are very warm...

Heard the bust-up was quite 'serious' as it happens.

It has to be Spit - bfs likes him and it all went quiet on him after the lid was lifted.

There appears to be nobody else about (we will be led to believe within our radar) and it is being left to the last minute to try and soften the blow announcement to the Rovers fans ( akin to the Andrews signing).

As for Harewood - wouldn't be any point to letting Derbyshire go if it does end up him and just a waste.

Glad Harewood is ruled out. After Nickos comments, it has to be Diouf unless he's pulling a fast one for a laugh. To be honest, I think Diouf is better than Derbyshire and could be the creative element on the right of midfield.

Definitely. The fact that Sam has moved Emerton to right back, in an unenforced manner a couple of times due to tactical reasonings suggests that he may be willing to play him there more consistently.

Derbyshire for Diouf is an excellent swap at this stage of the season, especially as Derbyshire's only games nowadays seem to come as a wide player and Diouf is far, far better in that role. We also know from his time at Bolton that he's got the stomach for a fight.

I can't see I like the man at all, but then I really didn't like Neill, Todd or Savage, and I managed to deal with that.

IF OKLAHOMA COULD TRANSLATE THAT JORNAL RECORD STORY ABOUT VELOSO I WOULD BE MOST DELIGHTED... ;)

Newcastle are also in for Veloso ? They have offered the same amount as Bolton.

Harewood- definitely no way is he ever coming to Rovers (now there's a jinx for you!)

Diouf- we have had a month to find better and failed so not bad, not good.

Roque- City surely must be aware how quickly Spurs got Defoe and Palacios after the fact they were in deadly earnest hit the press- two days in both cases. If City don't counter bid against Spurs today, got to assume Sparky has lost his battle to bid for him at a serious level.

Well if we really have managed to move Derbs out and get Diouff in we might have lost quite a lot of moral character in the side but we will definately have a much better set of footballing options. Diouf provides ability down the right and pace. And you would have to say that McCarthy, Roberts, Cruz and Diouff would represent the best stable of strikers to turn out for Rovers since, well I am not sure when!

It is just a shame our midfield continues to look bereft. If Dunn is fit we are a decent outfit. If he is not we are poor. This needs addressing.

For Blackburn's sake, i hope you don't get him. You could do a lot better

For Sunderlands sake, i hope someone takes him off us quickly as he's causing far too many problems up here.

I am another that is not overjoyed at the prospect of having Diouf as a Rovers player, but I do admit that in the present circumstances, and given that Sam knows how to handle him, he is probably our best option just for now. However it still leaves us with the need for the long term to find a better and more acceptable player for the right wing position. Seems a shame we can't also sign the Egyptian guy as he seems to have some promise for a future signing. Problem being that the poor lad has already been looked at twice and given reason to think we are signing him....what is he going to think if we tell him "no for now, but maybe in the summer?"

I know what I would say if some club treated me like that!!

If you are talking about diouf, i'll be chuffed to get anything for him. Can't understand why you want him though
