rebelmswar Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 He said surprised not horrified so there is hope that it will be really low.

nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 £3.5m? Am I close? Will be that in total I understand. You can buy a lot of tissues with that cash.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 If Diouf signs it will divide the fans and will be a controversial signing. I wouldn't go for him, but if Sam wants him and reckons he can help keep us up then so be it.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Egyptian story is so old it's wrapped in bandages... Enough to make you spit? You're in the wrong job Nicko £3.5 million for a player of Dioufs age and ability is a good deal when you look at the mad money been paid for untested Championship player If Diouf signs it will divide the fans and will be a controversial signing. I wouldn't go for him, but if Sam wants him and reckons he can help keep us up then so be it. I think recent performances have earned Sam enough respect from the fans to allow him to pull this one off
Bobby G Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Ya but Sunderland selling him for a profit after the non-season he has had? Now thats crazy! I wouldve been happy with them recouping the 2.5 million...But at least we finally have a right winger!
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 As Diouf can play on the right and can put a decent ball into the box (from what i've seen at Bolton he could) is it time we say once and for all Roque is going nowhere this transfer window? Roque comes across as a player that won't sulk and if he really wants a move in the summer then he will have to get back into some decent form so the incentive is there.

I wouldve been happy with them recouping the 2.5 million...But at least we finally have a right winger! I think we can blame City for inflating peoples prices. Not only do we now have a right-winger (and cover for the strikers), but it means we can also play Emerton at right-back instead of Ooijer. Now if we can add a decent quality central midfielder and keep RSC then I'll be delighted by Januarys work.

I wouldve been happy with them recouping the 2.5 million...But at least we finally have a right winger! ...and AT LEAST one season ticket holder who will be absolutely repelled at the thought of seeing him in the once proud blue and white..the day after seeing one of the worst ever 45 minutes of hoofball i have seen in 50 years of watching footy. A sad sad day if this is true.
gumboots Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You're in the wrong job Nicko £3.5 million for a player of Dioufs age and ability is a good deal when you look at the mad money been paid for untested Championship player I think recent performances have earned Sam enough respect from the fans to allow him to pull this one off Since I don't like allardyce he's nothing to lose with me as far as this one is concerned, but I do have to say it might be the one and only time I've ever been tempted to boo a Rovers player.
spencey7 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 THREE-POINT-FIVE MILLION FOR A SPITTING, WIFE-BEATING, DISRESPECTFUL, DIVING, CHEATING, CLOWN. This whole era since Hughes left just seems like a nightmare. We couldn't be less ambitious if we were in the Conference. Please let me wake up.......
gazsimm Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Since I don't like allardyce he's nothing to lose with me as far as this one is concerned, but I do have to say it might be the one and only time I've ever been tempted to boo a Rovers player. thats really going to help the cause by booing your own player
LeftWinger Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I bet Keith Andrews will be happy with this signing. He's just become everyone second least favourite player
disgruntled Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Spencey7: Grow up and realize where the club is these days

This whole era since Hughes left just seems like a nightmare. We couldn't be less ambitious if we were in the Conference. Please let me wake up....... he will improve the squad and fill the much needed right wing gap, so its good news for rovers by the way if you are really a fan of this club.
nicko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You're in the wrong job Nicko That has been said before...
gumboots Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 thats really going to help the cause by booing your own player Read again. didn't say I would but I'd certainly be tempted. Since I've never booed anyone it would be a huge change from the norm and i don't see myself doing it but it's the biggest temptation to do so I've ever felt. we all knew allardyce wanted him; nobody really believed that he gave up on him that easily and now when we're thinking the transfer window's about to close and we're still not going to have a decent right-sided player they plan to bring him in because we have little choice but to accept him, all other avenues and enquiries having supposedly been explored. OK it'll probably happen but I don't have to like it.
gazsimm Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ...and AT LEAST one season ticket holder who will be absolutely repelled at the thought of seeing him in the once proud blue and white..the day after seeing one of the worst ever 45 minutes of hoofball i have seen in 50 years of watching footy. A sad sad day if this is true. it will be a sad day if we get relegated untill then give the manager his support and get behined the team. Diouf is a better player then Derbyshire so surley that means we have made the team stronger!!!!
gumboots Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 he will improve the squad and fill the much needed right wing gap, so its good news for rovers by the way if you are really a fan of this club. Why is it that when anyone voices a different opinion someone always has to say they are not a real fan. Being a real fan is wanting the best for the club. You may think this player is it. Others don't. There is no right and wrong here. It's not about being a real fan or not. It's about your perception of a player. i don't think this guy is actually good for our club. He may slightly improve our first team options but i suspect he'll bring more bad stuff than good to the club as a whole. That doesn't make me less of a fan than anyone else. It just means that my opinion on his merits and disadvantages is different from yours.

OK it'll probably happen but I don't have to like it. If sam wants to sign him then so be it. If it helps us stay in the prem this season, then whats the bloody harm in signing him. Booing him is just childish and damb right bloody thick.
kolobos Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Its just like the Savage signing all over again (and Bellamy to that matter).......you hate them when they play against you, but love them when the play for your team. Diouf will give us what we need, a right winger who can not only deliver a half decent cross but also attack full back.........something Brett doesn't seem to be able to do.
