Bennisfromheaven Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 OK, so we know the striker situation but since there is more money available should Roque leave, barring Diouf can we expect another signing, loans etc? For me we still need a midfielder or two, someone in the tugay mould, we will never get someone as good but we have been blessed that he has defied age for so long! we also need someone who will talk people on, anyone know if Gerrard is available!?!
dellinsert Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 ermmm milan or blackburn tough decision Wasn't he supposed to be considering Portsmouth?
donis1410 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Wasn't he supposed to be considering Portsmouth? but then it was a quicker escape route to france than lancashire
leftfooter Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Spurs have been in since Wednesday. The only delay is Rovers need for a replacement... Rovers WILL bat away all Man City offers until it reaches the money Spurs are prepared to pay. So was the Spurs offer accepted?
Bennisfromheaven Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 So was the Spurs offer accepted? .....not until a replacement is found i presume .......giving city a chance to bid 25 million!!

dom_rog Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Just heard that Marc Janko has been contacted by Rovers in the last few hours. Is there any truth in this???
Craigman Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Just heard that Marc Janko has been contacted by Rovers in the last few hours. Is there any truth in this??? According to Sky Sports he has just signed a new contract with them.
joey_big_nose Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Just heard that Marc Janko has been contacted by Rovers in the last few hours. Is there any truth in this??? Logical if we are considering bidding 10 million for Crouch. I wonder if we will match Salzberg's 9 million valuation? Any news on central midfielders or right backs (considering the first half against Bolton we desperately need both)?
donis1410 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Any news on central midfielders or right backs (considering the first half against Bolton we desperately need both)? I think with the signing of the spit shows that emo might revert to his most successful position of last season at right back, I personally would like to see danny simpson get more of a run but oh well
Oklahoma Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Nicko, any truth on Rovers interest in Eliseu from Malaga?
dom_rog Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 This is not very important but I think Rovers acadamy scouts have been lookin into this young 12 year old named Joseph Henderson. Meant to be one for the future!!!
Jan Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I think with the signing of the spit shows that emo might revert to his most successful position of last season at right back, I personally would like to see danny simpson get more of a run but oh well I'd like to see Danny Simpson get run back to Manchester myself. If he was foreign no-one would care about him at all, and he'd already be gone.
hawkiiz Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 official says diouf is coming, but not in time for boro. http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...1538944,00.html
Jim Royle Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Pompey must be right up the creek to even consider a deal to sell Crouch to one of their relagation rivals. Lets hope they are! RSC has done wonders for us BUT at £20m you have to accept it given his ten year injury record and providing the replacement is acceptable. Is Crouch acceptable - every time I see him play for England I say yes but his club returns aren't so impressive. However to get Crouch who has no injury record and pocket c£8m - £10m for investment elsewhere is a no brainer Now is Crouch up for returning to NW? - at least he can look after Gerard on their nights out round Southport!
nicko Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Nicko, any truth on Rovers interest in Eliseu from Malaga? New one to me. Any Roque replacement will have to be pretty impressive...or else.
BRFC1995 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Just heard that Marc Janko has been contacted by Rovers in the last few hours. Is there any truth in this??? i think this will happen just googling jankos name and every story is about rovers chasing the guy all winter, even a mirror article 6 days ago about us bidding 6m, and a piece from an austrian newspaper that says 6m is a phenomenol offer. the guys goals to games record is utterly ridiculous regardless of the league he's in. Hoffenheim and celtic appear to be the main competition and i think we'd be picked ahead of both, we were apparently offering the likes of neill, bellamy and bentley 55kp/w as a maximum so there is absolutely no way i see that ceiling being obliterated for crouch.
speeeeeeedie Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 official says diouf is coming, but not in time for boro. http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...1538944,00.html Decent signing. Right wing, hard to tackle, will win plenty of free kicks (and penalties!). Will allow Emerton to play elsewhere; fullback for some, central mid for others, and even the bench for a few. What was the general consensus when we were in for Savage? Were people threatening to throw their season tickets into the canal then too?

spencey7 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Diouff was bought by Lpool for 11m, Crouch bought by Lpool for into the teens of millions Crouch to Pompey similar, Bent to Spurs for 17m. God only knows the combined total transfer fees for these players so I'd say your opinion amounts to very little Spencey and there are lots of football managers whose opinions differ with yours. I know who I'd believe. So you deal with it. And Diouf and Crouch did so well at Liverpool after their big moves didn't they? That's why they're still there! Hang on... And Bent at Spurs has been a revelation. Those three players were NEVER worth those ludicrous sums - and they sure as hell aren't now. I am more proud than you can imagine to disagree with you thenodrog. Your antiquated, incoherent, garbled views on football are a struggle to read to be honest. I'm surprised you're allowed to post on here at all given your persistent racist vitriol against all nations and races.
Mr Creosote Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Yay! My own personal stalker's back. Why does my opinion matter so much to you? Why does it cause you so much distress? Just put me on ignore! It'll help keep your blood pressure down. You'll have to fight it out with Fourbogs for me

That's why I signed on with Red Bull."
Mr Creosote Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Scotty makes a valid judgement regarding what might be a very tall story about Peter Crouch coming to Rovers, which as others have pointed out doesn't make sense from so many angles. On the other hand, you have made a pointless post which only contains a personal insult, and completely ignores the guidelines currently in place. I expect you to be banned shortly. One on the way for you as well then!
Oklahoma Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 It's in here Wigan was interested but it seems Rovers have been following closely. Buy-out clause: €600.000
