They have got Heskey to lead the line now but MoN might be despairing of Carew and have noticed how well Heskey and Crouch functioned together for England on one or two occasions. Certainly if Villa want to go to having four absolutely front line out and out strikers in their squad, they are short at the moment.

But there have been foreign suitors for Crouch and right now there are striker crises at Everton (Cahill having a scan) and Newcastle (Owen out) whilst Wigan could be about to have even more spending money if Valencia goes and you cannot rule out the chap who signed him for Pompey who might still want a striker if he loses out on RSC. Even Chelsea are short numerically on striker cover.

Agreed, except for the Wigan part. Whilst they will have the money they lack not only the credibilty but Bruce recently went on record (if the report is to be believed) touting himself once again for the Newcastle job. The way JFK is performing (in the true Roger Melly sense of the word), and because it's Newcastle, there will likely be an opening for a new manager up in Loony Toons quite shortly.

Some of you in Blackburn under estimate Blackburn. I live on the south coast - less than 5 minutes walk to the sea. Often travel to Blackburn for the games and to meet people I know up there. I come up via train or coach as I cannot be bothered to drive the distance. I use public transport in and around Blackburn - with no complaints. We can all get complacint where we live - but it is often when you move away from a place and return that you learn how good the area is.

The north of England is often a lot more friendlier than the south, who can be a bit snobby.

For crouch or anybody with his type of income, it wouldn't matter where they lived. They know that their careers are often finished by 35 years old - they have loads of dosh and then can go where ever they want to do so after their careers are over. So for awhile they make do with their surrondings.

Well said Pafell.

No disrespect to the city, as I'm sure it has a lot of character, but Portsmouth looks like a bit of an anomaly in the south as it appears to be quite drab and run down in many respects. I'm sure that didn't worry Crouch though, who admirably appears to just want to get on with playing football.

The Ribble Valley is actually remeniscent of the Cotswolds.

He'll have played with hundreds if not thousands of different players throughout his career.

I doubt he'll know Fowler/Warnock better than he does the majority of his current team mates, if he was wanting to play with friends he'd probably stay where he is.

fair enough. im just asking if anyone know who our players are good friends with. it could be a way to get quality players in, dont you think? a lot of times we have seen 2-3 players moving from club a to club b in the same season - one of the factors could be friendship, and that can also be with other transfers. they dont even have to be good friends, but if they know each other, surely warnock would give PC a call to tell him if BRFC is a good place or not?

There seems to be no confirmation of the broken foot if that is what it is as yet.

If true, it could either put Spurs into the market for two extra strikers or more likely take Bent off the market. That in turn could up the pressure on Spurs to move one of their lesser performing midfielders out quickly.

Huddlestone and Lennon will NOT be sold irrespective of what happens. Jenas is another matter. Bentley if they can get the almost all of the £15m for him.

it is not understandable that sam allows nolan to go to n'castle for 4mill when he is clearly the sort of player we urgently need right now. it is a unbelivable!

My thoughts are similar. Not the prettiest player but a strong attacking injury free midfielder who had his best years under SA. I would have expect Notlob to ask for more.

Very excited at the prospect of the next few weeks for Rovers. An attacking lineup consisting of Benni Mac, Diouf, Pedersen and Crouch would be fantastic. I would be very confident of a 10th place finish comr the end of the season.
