Bobby G Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Double post. Not much news going around this morning, other than the Arshavin flying to London one.

Jim Royle Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Highly rated in Spain... Its getting a bit late in the game for transfers I think. Alot will be known today if Roque is in the squad or not. I wouldnt dare not play him. We cant risk it at all. On a sidenote, I was wondering why Valencia was going to United now, but I realize the deal will go through in the summer, and that leaves huge question marks over Ronaldo's future, doesnt it? Maybe not Ronaldo's future but what of Nani's future - he has been a relative failure for £17m and given that SAF has just bought the two Serbs, certainly one of which is a wide player and now maybe adding Valencia to the mix - could be the right time for cheeky little bid! (or loan enquiry). If RSC is sold it could be an option added to the new striker. I'm sure Nani's ego wouldn't allow it but would you never know. You wouldn't be safe in the blackburn end upper though given some of his shooting accuracy, but one every now and then ends up in the back of the net.
imy9 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Nicko- Are Rovers actually interested in Bent or is Harry trying to get rid? How much do Spurs value him at and how much do we? With 2 days left it is leaving us with little time to find a replacement so has to be proven premier league quality, I think Bent and Crouch are it.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Nicko- Are Rovers actually interested in Bent or is Harry trying to get rid? How much do Spurs value him at and how much do we? With 2 days left it is leaving us with little time to find a replacement so has to be proven premier league quality, I think Bent and Crouch are it. Nicko has already said that Bent was offered to Rovers and declined. Crouch is the Rovers main target.
Billy Castell Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I now think we should keep away from Crouch, as his wages will cripple Portsmouth, and they may dig themselves a bigger hole with the money for Dos Santos. Should RSC go, we should try for Ebanks-Blake, Doyle or McCormack, and then really go for a marquee signing for midfield.
hawkiiz Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 as for ronaldo, the times are saying he could go to real for 91m... and stories about our egyptian beckham having signed keep popping up

Billy Castell Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Is there any talk of a midfielder coming in, or is the club entirely focused on Daddt Long Legs?
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 That Diouf sounds a nice chap... I don't like anything I've ever heard about him as a human being, but he's played some good football in the past and I'll never boo anyone in a Rovers shirt. Until he starts up with the kind of behaviour he's famous for at our club I think we should give him a chance at a fresh start.
dave birch Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 That Diouf sounds a nice chap... Couldn't give a farnarkerlers, as long as he does the business on the park and the rovers win!

dave birch Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2192308.ece Probably less severe than the knife that was held at my throat v Everton back in the 60's.
hawkiiz Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 That Diouf sounds a nice chap... what are you hinting? did he beat up pedersen? ;lol; edit. oh that. id still give him a fresh start. he is a hot-head, not a killer
Alan75 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2192308.ece Wonder if he would suggest the same to Chris Samba
Bobby G Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I dont see the big deal. In the heat of the moment things are said. Im sure similar things are said/done when team-mates argue or fight but it doesnt reach the papers.
thenodrog Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2192308.ece I'd should imagine it's perfectly normal behaviour when he was growing up in Senegal. I hope you are not being racist by condemning African culture Alan. People get accused of that on here for much less you know.

I hope you are not being racist by condemning African culture Alan. Don't worry about Senegal, It seems to be part of the culture in England at the moment.
bellamy11 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I'm pretty sure if he didn't play for us there would not be ONE apologist. Fact is, he is going to have to be kept on a very short least because he's clearly somewhat puddled.
thenodrog Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Wonder if he would suggest the same to Chris Samba Doubt it. He'll know that Chris will probably have a much bigger knife.

Fact is, he is going to have to be kept on a very short least because he's clearly somewhat puddled. You'll get no argument from me on that, but, he hasn't done anything wrong ....YET. When he does, well.... he'll get hammered, won't he, and he'll deserve it, but until......
Hughesy Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Diouf will fit in well at ewood... lets forget his past and give him our support. If he does something wrong here then fair enough... then you can have a go at him. Next few days should be very interesting
thenodrog Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Don't worry about Senegal, It seems to be part of the culture in England at the moment. There's no honour like that any more in our inner city ghettoes Dave. They've moved onto guns! In fact we have fallen so far that one is now just as likely to get shot and raped in Manchester or Brum as in your outback! It's shocking!
Bobby G Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 nicko where do things stand on the Roque and replacement front this morning?
Jim Royle Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 nani's not conisdered a failure by the mancs i know.. So 8 league appearances, 5 as sub - 1 goal is enough to satisfy your manu supporting acquaintances Expectations of a £17m player must have decreased somewhat recently
