Terrific working out in some quarters...top stuff...best bit of the day so far.

I am just waiting to see how long it is until Gilbert and Sullivan Boy comes on to the strains of 'ta-run-ta-run-ta-run' to break into song and tell us about it.

Likely to be quiet tonight nicko with clubs waiting for the best possible deals and leaving things till the last minute? Seems to be lots of speculation and not many deals being signed at the moment all over the league.

Wonder what time managers and chairmen actually get up tomorrow? Assuming they actually go to bed tonight!

Given has to be the one that is holding things up I guess, he's the big name that was undergoing a medical today, like someone else said though, a failed medical might not stop City, the worst that can happen is lose a few million which wouldn't exactly be the end of the world for them! Still if that holds up the Roque deal then it's good news for us!

With Emerton being injured and us having problems down the right side, any idea why we are not interested in Pannuci? Wages? Past it?

22hours to go boys and girls!

Nicko, any idea on the egyptian lad? Do you know whats going on as he was adamant he will be joining. Maybe some of arab journalist friends you could contact?

I asked him earlier in the thread, said it was unlikely now with work permit issues, plus the fact that if he is meant to be playing in the egyptian cup tomorrow he'd need a time machine for it to go through!

I guess the only way it could happen is if everything's been signed already and it's just been kept on the radar. You can put dates in place for when transfers go through so I guess it's a slim possiblity.

given fails medical at citeh

barcodes need the dosh to buy darren bent from spurs

spurs need to sell bent to finance move for santa cruz

No......................

Mokoena fails medical at Chelse so........

Blackburn cant afford to buy Gerrard until they get the 18million from the Mokoena sale.

Liverpool cant afford to buy Titus Bramble until they recieve the 3.2 million from us!

 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :tu:

It'd be sad to see Santa Cruz joining the perennial underachievers that are Tottenham Hotspurs. All they do is spend a king's ransom every season and then flatter to deceive. Sure, they won the league cup last year, but even a miserable little club in the Pennines like us has done THAT!

Man.City, I could understand to a degree, because they have the financial power to become another Chelsea should the right manager come along *cough*Mourinho*cough*.

In many ways we are already past the witching hour.

Pretty well everyone from outside the EU is a no-no now because there is no time for the Home Office to exercise its discretion and issue a work permit.

Physical logistics now come into play. The time it takes to fly or drive a player from A to B are key constraints in the 10 hours max that are available to do business tomorrow.

And as one contributor has already pointed out, this is the weather forecast- severe weather warning from now until noon tomorrow!

Not only is Given at the bottom of a transfer web with a failed medical, so is Defoe's badly swollen foot not yet yielding up what lies beneath the bruising leaving Spurs not knowing whether to sell Bent and what sort of striker they really need. Rafa's enigmatic answer on Setanta just now rather suggests Keane returning to Spurs is by no means a done deal!

The whole thing looks like a car smash but at least Rovers are in possession of RSC if you all get snowed in tomorrow morning whereas City and Spurs for all their massive spending still have significant holes in their squads!

I guess though if two clubs can agree and the player wants to come a deal can still happen pretty fast, think of Robinho in the last window, that came from nowhere, surely he needed a work permit?

Given has signed for City according to the SSN headline now.

nicko can you confirm whether Given was the one that failed the medical now?

We have been watching "Meme" Tchite tonight.

Racing against Barcelona.

Tchite

Can you translate it??

Surely if Tottenham sold Bent to Newcastle, we wouldnt let Roque go because then that would limit our options for a replacement further.

Im feeling confident Tottenham will re-sign Keane rather than Roque.

Stroke boy live on SSN!!!

The Rovers now have in their ranks with the reinforcement and the Senegalese striker was at the Barcelona-Racing managing the transfer of another attacker

The image of Blackburn and is expected to Diouf and Tchité Tchité has one foot out of Racing

Sam Allardyce will be reunited with El Hadji Diouf in Blackburn after having previously had at Bolton, after the Rovers, as announced on their website, their services have been made by a figure close to two million pounds. "It's a great player. Sometimes it gets a little quirky, as everyone knows, but I know how to control and become the great player he was at Bolton," Allardyce told the technician.

But Blackburn is not closed by the winter market closes Monday at 17:00 pm in England. In fact, despite the signing of Diouf, the Rovers are still looking forward, particularly in El Sardinero. Emissaries of the entity trying to take the English League of andalusia Racing Santander striker Tchité, who were watching the games this weekend to Barcelona. They have only hours to close the agreement.

Given has finally 'passed' his medical...although certain long-standing injuries may make the fee come with a 'pay as you play' clause or two...which seems to have been an issue since Friday when he was cleared to go to Man City.

Now Newcastle have the money to buy a striker...both they and Sunderland will go in for Darren Bent...Sbragia tried not to laugh when he said he had 'not done that one at present' earlier.

If Spurs sell Bent it will give them cash for a striker...which would be either Roque or Keane...but Daniel Levy once signed Rasiak, so you can't be too sure.

As for Tchite...not fit, not the answer...IF Rovers went to that game it could only be Zigic again.

The Russian work permit rumour is doing the rounds...but he isn't a replacement for Roque...maybe a little 'extra' for the squad.

So, that's the 11 o'clocker early for no good reason.

I think a move can be done, but whether Rovers push through with it will depend on other factors tomorrow.

If a better, domestic striker comes up then they will be signed instead.

This brinkmanship lark cuts both ways...some game.
