hawkiiz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 according to SSN, Arshavin has lft his hotel and is heading for a London Airport. Apparetly Arsenal just cant afford the fee how could Arshavi go to london without a fee agreed? did he go just in case or what? so this makes it easier for us to land the Pogster?
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Don't be too hasty with that trumpet I've been waiting seven months...give us a break...looks like playing the Last Post on that one now.
TugaysMarlboro Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Well it's an interesting start to the day at least.
budha Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 how could Arshavi go to london without a fee agreed? did he go just in case or what? so this makes it easier for us to land the Pogster? They would need the medicals and personal terms done.. if the fee would be agreed at 4PM.
Eddie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Who were you rooting for Doddsy? Back on topic: I've the feeling today is going to be either uneventful or full of good news, but not bad. Don't know why I feel that way, but it probably explains my still being able to support this club without the assistance of medications. Uneventful is terrible. Coming into this window we were probably a short a good striker, a central midfielder, a right midfielder and a right back. We've signed a left back / centre back who provides useful cover and another player who could fill either the striker or right midfield role, although is hardly inspiring in either. We've then lost a striker and a player who regularly fills either the right back or right midfield option, but was also an option for central midfield. In other words, we are still short a central midfielder, a striker and a right back. I don't think there is any chance we'll sign a central midfielder. Uneventful is terrible.
Oklahoma Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 According to newspaper "O jogo", Zoro has signed for Rovers and he is only waiting for a work permit. O Jogo Translation: Zoro already signed for Rovers The transfer of Zoro from Benfica to blackburn Rovers depends on englisf FA. The centre back already signed for the english club - the paperwork between the teams has been done - , so all is left for a work permit so that the player can play, tiil the end of the season, in the side managed by Sam Allardyce.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 People are talking about the FA extending the deadline what with the weather. Has it been done before?
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Yes, Pompey and City had it done last year
Oklahoma Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Portuguese press mentioned the possibility of Quaresma, Inter Milan attacking midfielder, could go to Tottenham on loan. Any truth in this?
herbergeehh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 After the sitter he missed last night, I wouldn't be surprised
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 A small point here...the deals just have to be 'in progress' at 5pm...paperwork and the likes can follow. So it's still going to be a long day. You would laugh if I suggested Spurs were in for Kanu, wouldn't you? Don't be surprised...

herbergeehh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Seriously? They really do need a big striker, don't they? Pavlychenko must be thrilled.
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Waiting on word on Poggy and possibly Zoro... No idea how anyone could do the Roque out - replacement deal now. But Man City are involved, so anything is possible. This time last window Robinho and Man City was not even on the radar remember.
TugaysMarlboro Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, not sure if you've talked about in in a previous page, if so i've got my pen and paper ready for 100 lines. Is there anything in this Kuranyi link? Or is that the Daily Mail plucking names from a tophat?
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm saddened that Danny Murphy has settled in at Fulham on days like this. Playing "Where's Wally" with him on deadline day used to be good to watch on SSN as the clock ticked. Trying to get everything sorted early today so that I can watch Stroke Boy in all his Glory later this evening
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, not sure if you've talked about in in a previous page, if so i've got my pen and paper ready for 100 lines. Is there anything in this Kuranyi link? Or is that the Daily Mail plucking names from a tophat? I have never even heard of him being watched. Sam does take gambles, but that one seems a bit of a long shot. Still, it is only 10am.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm sure it's just pish, but a few people are claiming Roque is at the Lowry.

Playing "Where's Wally" with him on deadline day used to be good to watch on SSN as the clock ticked. Trying to get everything sorted early today so that I can watch Stroke Boy in all his Glory later this evening Stroke Boy is being warmed up as we speak. Gilbert and Sullivan Boy is outside a hotel, trying desperately to help Arshavin and his agents get a bigger contract at Arsenal. Hilarious. Wonder if Sky are being used here to tempt another Premier club to come in for Arshavin at the death??? I'm sure it's just pish, but a few people are claiming Roque is at the Lowry. Maybe he is an art lover.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Maybe he is an art lover. :D The Lowry Hotel.
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I do have fears that City may put in a huge bid (more than £20 million) pretty close to the deadline. I can't see Sam agreeing to any deal at a late stage, but the board/trust thats a different story. They would probably be licking their lips if a really large bid came in, we sold Bentley without a replacement...
thenodrog Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 A small point here...the deals just have to be 'in progress' at 5pm...paperwork and the likes can follow. Just how can that be monitored and verified?
hawkiiz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 spurs are obviosuly going Loco today. increased bid for Keane, and Kanu?? what are liverpool thinking? are they going back for crouch or what?? have spurs given up on Santa then? or would it be easier for this site to handle if we only reported on who spurs are NOT linked with?
