brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Liverpool selling Keane without getting one in doesn't suprise me at all. None of Rafas tactics make any sense and it's becoming clearer that he his powerbase in the club is growing....I'm pretty sure that story linking him with City in the papers yesterday didn't pop out of thin air!

Moorey Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 There's some bad news coming up for Burnley. No PMs on this - I won't be replying. Chris Eagles to Everton?
Ray-Von Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Eagles to Sunderland, David Healey the other way?
herbergeehh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Kuranyi would be a long shot, but he's a well known player with good pedigree - unlike Pog, Dzeko and Janko. I guess fitness and form is as important as pedigree at the moment though. 6 in 17 for Schalke (9th in Bundesliga) this season. He seems to have lost his way a little, after being labelled the "perfect" striker - Brazilian skill and German graft - in the Euros in 2006 (?). Anyway, it's a good name - we need to be hearing those once in a while.

None of Rafas tactics make any sense and it's becoming clearer that he his powerbase in the club is growing Rafa should be bloody carpeted for blowing 5m in just 5 months on a player that he did not need and did not fit in with the Lpool style of play. Wenger must be aghast. I can only think of 2 or 3 clubs that would treat it so lightly.
budha Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Rafa should be bloody carpeted for blowing 5m in just 5 months on a player that he did not need and did not fit in with the Lpool style of play. Unless the rumours are true and Keane was Parry's, not Rafa's, pick.
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Almost wholely accepted now that Parry and the rest signed Keane...although it wouldn't be the firste time that he's blown millions on a player that he neither needed or was any good. Nice to see that Reira is back to his Man City best now too
hawkiiz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 i friend of mine was talking about some spitting incident with keane, and thats why he didnt play yesterday etc. but if they sell, they have only one real striker. and they er talking premiership???
Oklahoma Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, did Bolton make an approach for Fred? £4.5 million? Could he good for us?

The bald fella on Setanta thinks Bent is going to Liverpool if Keane goes to Spurs.
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, did Bolton make an approach for Fred? £4.5 million? Could he good for us? No, they are chasing midfielders all over the place...and not finding any. Big trouble ahead for them...but they are not alone.
doctorryan Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Uneventful is terrible. Coming into this window we were probably a short a good striker, a central midfielder, a right midfielder and a right back. We've signed a left back / centre back who provides useful cover and another player who could fill either the striker or right midfield role, although is hardly inspiring in either. We've then lost a striker and a player who regularly fills either the right back or right midfield option, but was also an option for central midfield. In other words, we are still short a central midfielder, a striker and a right back. I don't think there is any chance we'll sign a central midfielder. Uneventful is terrible. Our definitions of terrible differ there Eddie. I'll say what some here are perhaps afraid to say: I expect to stay up, period. Even if we don't gain anyone new today; even with Emo down 'til next season. There are just too many awful clubs in this division right now, regardless of the money being spent. In spite of Paul Ince and the cheap @#/?s that are the Trustees of the Jack Walker Settlement, I expect Premier League football at Ewood Park next season. Queue the "we're a small town club" whining. My advice to you all: Become supporters of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Food tastes better, things like the weather never bother you and you laugh at everyone else all the time. For some of you I'd imagine it would be the equivalent of coming over to the other side of the Lord. Now, about Sturridge and this Russian chap............
dellinsert Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 No, they are chasing midfielders all over the place...and not finding any. Big trouble ahead for them...but they are not alone. Is there anything in the report linking them to Barry Ferguson?
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Is there anything in the report linking them to Barry Ferguson? Wrong Hun...it was Mendes they wanted...but he did not want them.
TugaysMarlboro Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Stroke boy replaced? Transfer deal of the window if you ask me!
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Just how can that be monitored and verified? By the same people who let Pandiani sign late, Mascherano and Tevez come in from MFI or wherever and Benjani to join Man City when the Good Doctor had re-written the terms...
thenodrog Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 In spite of Paul Ince and the cheap @#/?s that are the Trustees of the Jack Walker Settlement, You obviously have all the figures to hand? If so please use them to explain that comment.
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Stroke boy replaced? Transfer deal of the window if you ask me! Failed a medical.
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 You using the French version of "terrible" Eddie? Will he pass the "2nd" medical Nicko....please say yes
disgruntled Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Looks like not only Zenit are using Sky Sports News, but Spurs have been back on the blower. I'm convinced Spurs do all of their transfer dealings via them.
Gav Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 There's some bad news coming up for Burnley. No PMs on this - I won't be replying. Great stuff, best bit of news on this thread so far
budha Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Setanta and Sky websites have now picked the Kuranyi-link. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_4885146,00.html
LeChuck Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 "1032: Barnsley have agreed to sign Michael Mifsud from Coventry City on loan until the end of the season" Bit of a fall from grace isn't it, wasn't he being linked with multi-million pound moves to Premiership teams not long ago? In fact, I'm sure quite a few on here were suggesting we should go for him.
herbergeehh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Setanta and Sky websites have now picked the Kuranyi-link. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_4885146,00.html Andreas Möller (excellent midfielder btw) admitted: The player is not for sale. Isn't that a contradiction to the whole article?
Heinz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Uhhh.... I'm pretty sure thats NOT what he said ;-)...
