gumboots Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 im jst going to pretend to know what your talking about, your intellectual capacity obviously isnt great soory. It's gallows humour if you are talking about being hanged and trying to keep your spirits up. People talk about relegation as though it was going through the trapdoor of the scaffold therefore it's gallows humour as we try to keep cheerful despite the imminent threat of relegation. And I'm a graduate from the days when degrees were hard to come by so I think my intellectual capacity is not really in doubt.

Presty On Tour Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, the is no chance Joe Ledley will go to Stoke.
alexanders Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 When the window closes, again like January last year, we will struggle to see any players who actually moved who could realistically have come to Rovers who would meet those two criteria. I agree. Not many of those who have been signed this January window would I like to see at Ewood and especially not for the prices being paid. What about going for Jonathan Greening? We would weaken West Brom and at the same time he is a decent player.
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko, the is no chance Joe Ledley will go to Stoke. Tell Stoke City that...about 5.01pm.
spencey7 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Stroke boy on now name dropping again lol, Leroy Lita just rang him apparently. Bet it was his mum. Oh now Micah Richards is on too What...? I've no access to SSN today - Does he actually claim that the players themselves are calling him directly, live on air? What a crock of sh*te.
LeChuck Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If Sam has a quality midfielder on the radar that would be doable before the deadline then I'd take £12 million + Bent for Santa Cruz. Bent will always score goals and showed at Charlton that he won't go missing in a relegation scrap.
alexanders Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Veloso missing from training to sign for Newcastle - watch this space...

Your typing on the other hand I hate to disapoint people, but we're not going to sign anyone else. Sorry Alex- Greening is crocked for at least 6 weeks
Fylde Coast Fan Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Spurs are buying Keane, their offer for Roque is off the table.
Backroom Tom Posted February 2, 2009 Backroom Posted February 2, 2009 What...? I've no access to SSN today - Does he actually claim that the players themselves are calling him directly, live on air? What a crock of sh*te. Yes he claimed they were ringing him whilst he was speaking on air. Nicko you must know a bit about him from journalist circles, is he really privvy to ANY inside info or just a hack?
gumboots Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Your typing on the other hand Yes, I noticed that mistake after I posted and couldn't be bothered to go back and correct it. I've actually got typing qualifications too, oddly enough!
chocky Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Yes he claimed they were ringing him whilst he was speaking on air. Nicko you must know a bit about him from journalist circles, is he really privvy to ANY inside info or just a hack? It's probably his mum ringing him...
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko you must know a bit about him from journalist circles, is he really privvy to ANY inside info or just a hack? I heard he wants to be an agent when he grows up. Maybe he will end up phoning himself.
jim mk2 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Talking of guts, the people at the Rovers have absolutely busted their guts all January looking for players who are better than what we have and can make an immediate impact. You sure ? At present we have gained Diouf (could be a good signing) and Givet (not played in 6 months), failed to address the midfield weakness and have now lost our best right back in Emerton. If that's busting their guts some people might soon be venting thelr spleen over managerial incompetance.
Fife Rover Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Portsmouth are certainly busy this window: 12.45: BREAKING NEWS... Portsmouth have confirmed the signing of midfielder Angelos Basinas who joins fellow Greek Theofanis Gekas at the club... more to follow... Is that more news or more Greeks?
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I think Darren Bent will be cleared to speak to a club shortly...probably Sunderland...but there will be others for him before the 'deadline' shuts.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Any idea if Big Sam is going to sign anybody at all? Replacement for Emerton/Roque included.
rebelmswar Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 "The Premier League has announced it will grant applications from clubs to complete transactions after the 5pm deadline today if there is email confirmation from the two clubs involved that a deal has been agreed in principle. The club signing the player must also satisfy the board that the prevailing weather conditions have prevented the signing from being completed by the deadline." Yay more time to worry and fret.

If Santa Cruz were going to Manchester he'd have no problem so they presumably wouldn't get a dispensation to do it later. if the guy you're trying to sign has to travel to or from London etc they would. Mind you clubs like city get round most things.
philipl Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Jo to Everton on loan. I don't know whether Bent will be let out from Spurs. Reports circulating that Defoe is out for two months minimum. I think we can conclude that City were absolutely tight in refusing Rovers any players whatsoever today. Incidentally, I am not minimising the size of the crisis we have on our right flank.
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Stroke Boy stalking Darren Bent now I wonder why? See post 6243... OK, who's phoning him?
garyh123 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I think Darren Bent will be cleared to speak to a club shortly...probably Sunderland...but there will be others for him before the 'deadline' shuts. Nicko, say he agrees to join sunderland or any other club for that matter, he has no chance of getting up to the north east today so what do clubs do with transfers in those circumstances? Arrange for medical to be done down there today & agree the deal based on that, or can they agree deal based on medical to be done tomorrow?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nicko should list some "stories" and have a red herring in there. We'll soon see if Stroke Boy is reading.
Guest Kamy100 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 All very quiet at Ewood. My glimmer of hope is that on previous deadline days when we have signed players nothing has leaked out so it could well be that things are being worked on, even last window we narrowly missed out on signing Affaley (sp) so there is still hope.
