nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Didn't the sale of Kuqi almost fall through as it was faxed to a local chippy by mistake? Yes, needed special dispensation. And extra salt and vinegar.

gumboots Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Looks like another deadline day without any action at the Rovers. didn't think we'd do much in the buying department but did think there might be another decentish loan out there somewhere. Looks like the old souness adage applies again.
Iceman Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It must be said though, apart from a few signings by pompey it has been a quiet day all round or is it just me that sees it that way. Loads of rumours, but nothing to get excited about. I do however see with 1 min to go, that we might see players signing all over the place.
modes98 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 And why would 25 million trigger a release clause as that suggests? what use is the money now? if they wanted him a sizeable early bid would have done it. The story says that last night was the deadline and they missed it, meaning we have no time to buy a replacement. It is not a release clause like the one in the summer, it was the level of cash it would take for rovers to sell.
Ewood and I Would Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Yes, needed special dispensation. What's the difference between regular dispensation and special dispensation? A journo committing tautolgy, tut tut
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What's the difference between regular dispensation and special dispensation? A journo committing tautolgy, tut tut It's a long enough day without a clown like you butting in all of the time. I thought you would have learned your lesson with previous bouts of attention-seeking gibberish. Just do one.
philipl Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Another player these threads were screaming out for Rovers to sign, Callum Davemport, is having a medical at Sunderland.... To be honest after the blow over Emerton, we just need a decent average Premier League player who can kick right footed... Anyway, the BBC are reporting that Newcastle are not doing any business today- they are in serious trouble then.
rog of the rovers Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 nicko whilst your around could you put us out of our misery and tell us were NOT signing anyone?
Ewood and I Would Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It's a long enough day without a clown like you butting in all of the time. I thought you would have learned your lesson with previous bouts of attention-seeking gibberish. Just do one. Calm down dear, it's only the internets....
nicko Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I heard Big Sam had gone home an hour or so ago. It would be a surprise if anyone came now. But it's the same story in many places. Bolton are NOT signing Larsson or anyone else. Had a shocker. Still, the relegation zone is full of trash. Sad thing is you have probably missed a chance to rise above that.
gumboots Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 nicko whilst your around could you put us out of our misery and tell us were NOT signing anyone? He could tell us but if we did he'd look daft and also would we believe him or would we go on hoping?
Iceman Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 You can tell what a quiet day its been, by seeing Mr Nixon dragged into all this random chat lol Anyway, is Obafemi Martins not injured, which means Spurs would not entertain a swap for Bent.
rog of the rovers Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I guess thats a no then. Still had Diouf been signed today rather than last Friday we could have had some excitement
DeadlyDirk Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Another player these threads were screaming out for Rovers to sign, Callum Davemport, is having a medical at Sunderland.... To be honest after the blow over Emerton, we just need a decent average Premier League player who can kick right footed... Anyway, the BBC are reporting that Newcastle are not doing any business today- they are in serious trouble then. Keegan walked after he wasn't allowed to sign any player before the end of the window, wonder if Kinnear would think of doing the same? He probably needs the cash though. This email confirmation thing to the FA for dispensation seems a funny one, what's their emails I might put a few deals in
Ewood and I Would Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Just of interest are there any rules saying you HAVE to receice transfer requests on deadline day? For example, if we did give City til yesterday to put a serious offer in for RSC, would we be breaking any laws by turning off all the phones and fax machines today?
Hi Mack Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 He could tell us but if we did he'd look daft and also would we believe him or would we go on hoping? Dissapointing transfer window..............Again! Like Nicko said we could have pulled away from the pack with a couple signings but were just in the mire with the rest of them!
RevidgeBlue Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Still, the relegation zone is full of trash. Sad thing is you have probably missed a chance to rise above that. We've been saying that for a good number of windows now nicko.
Wolverine Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Brilliant - a twelve year old on SSN endorsing how good it is: "It's brilliant, you keep it on all day and its very exciting."
DeadlyDirk Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anichebe. Everton to Hull City. Surprise. It is odd, Moyes can't one week complain about having no strikers and then the next day send one on loan. I guess he doesn't rate Anichebe at the moment.
Ewood and I Would Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 He could tell us but if we did he'd look daft and also would we believe him or would we go on hoping? Yeah like when he said City wouldn't be siging Robinho on the last deadline day
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Good acquisition for Hull. Will stay up I feel.
BuckyRover Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I heard Big Sam had gone home an hour or so ago. It would be a surprise if anyone came now. But it's the same story in many places. Bolton are NOT signing Larsson or anyone else. Had a shocker. Still, the relegation zone is full of trash. Sad thing is you have probably missed a chance to rise above that. Haha, fantastic! I was only joking when I intimated he might have gone home to put his feet up. Turns out I was right. The messiah! Let's hope he can turn water into wine. He is going to have to with our squad.
LeChuck Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Anichebe. Everton to Hull City. Surprise. That is a surprise, although I had wondered about his future given that they seemed to prefer playing 4-6-0 rather than put him upfront. Can't see him scoring many goals for Hull though, they're really going to struggle.
John Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Cannot believe we have not really strengthened... oh well, seems like the priority this window was keeping Santa Cruz.
