Tris Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The only way I can see a deal happening at this stage is if Sturridge is coming the other way.

Hughesy Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Could we seriously be screwing them for £25m + Sturridge??? (Im sorry but that deal is too good to be true) Ouch that has to hurt city after starting at just £8m.
cn174 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 This fella on sky sports news is really starting to get on my nerves. I knew this would happen
hawkiiz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 we can not take sturridge on loan! what is all the fuss about anyway? he is no Van Nistelrooy. he is a young fairly untested striker that is payed by our RIVALS! WHY should we let him inside our castle, looking to "save us"? Trojan horse anyone?
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 So we get a player on loan, young untested and highly unlikely would want to be here? Yeah he is really going to want to help keep us up... We have to say no, there is no time left. We are going to get shafted bigtime on this deal if it happens. He destroyed us within 10 minutes of coming on at Ewood. We desperately need a midfielder in and one who is better than Moko on top of that. Santa Cruz hasn't had a decent 90 minutes all season, for £25 million I'm willing to risk Benni, Diouf and Roberts from now until June.
Roost Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Newcastle have reportedly failed in a bid to swap Spurs' Darren Bent with Obafemi Martins. Wow!! I cant believe that Spuds didnt snatch their hand off - Martins is a very good player, Bent is, well, just average. Weird day
T4E Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The deal means nothing if we've no time to spend the cash. It'll all have disappeared by the Summer.
deftangel Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Perhaps it's just a ruse to get people to KEEP WATCHING
mckenny16 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I really hope there is a master plan if the RSC news is true. If he goes, and no-one comes in, we're screwed. Frankly, I would expect relegation. A good striker, and a butt-kicking midfielder who is made out of solid titanium and gold would be great. So you want Iron Man to be our new offensive midfielder?
Hi Mack Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The only way I can see a deal happening at this stage is if Sturridge is coming the other way. Sturridge is a decent prospect! Hes shouldnt be brought in as a replacement for our main striker! I think its Johnson and a striker from elsewere!
Ronin Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 So you want Iron Man to be our new offensive midfielder? If he can tackle, can set up pin point passes and score, why not
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Perhaps it's just a ruse to get people to KEEP WATCHING That had occured to me also, perhaps Stroke Boys viewing figures are down A talented youngster with a point tp prove plus £25 million or a sulky striker who will be off in the summer either way....ummmm I noticed Stroke Boy has said nothing on the subject for the last 20 minutes, perhaps his battery has died on his many mobiles Daccourt to Fulham
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The deal means nothing if we've no time to spend the cash. It'll all have disappeared by the Summer. Spot on.
TugaysMarlboro Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Think our friend Nicko is having a look to see if this is true. Clearly, David Villa is going to replace Roque. It's also good to see that Danny Murphy is signing a piece of paper today....even if it is just a contract extension. I'm sure he'd get withdrawl symptoms if he didn't have a pen in his hand at some point today.
philipl Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Wow!! I cant believe that Spuds didnt snatch their hand off - Martins is a very good player, Bent is, well, just average. Weird day What use is a player who is unlikely to be fit before March??? This is clearly a City stunt so they can say they backed Hughes. SSN are obviously delighted as well because it keeps the advertisers happy. 30 minutes is not enough time to drive to Eastlands keeping within the speed limit, never mind have a medical and send Sturridge in the opposite direction.
American Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 we can not take sturridge on loan! what is all the fuss about anyway? he is no Van Nistelrooy. he is a young fairly untested striker that is payed by our RIVALS! WHY should we let him inside our castle, looking to "save us"? Trojan horse anyone? Overly paranoid anyone? Yes, you.
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Queresma is their new focus.....Strokers has backtracked massively in the last 10 minutes
hawkiiz Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 A talented youngster with a point tp prove plus £25 million or a sulky striker who will be off in the summer either way....ummmm we need to stay up before we can even think about summer! it is not like we will get £25m now (how high is the REAL bid anyway?) and nothing in the summer. we get the clause money in the summer, so its no crisis either way. the crisis is if we lose him and dont get anyone in. andwho exactly should that be?
roversmad95 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I'm sure JW and Big Sam do have a replacement lined up, just incase City came in late like this....... you tend to think they knew city would come in late with an offer we couldnt refuse... must have something... please have something lol....
ihtd Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If only Travylad, if only. I knew we'd get screwed over with an hour to go by Citeh, i really hate that club with a passion. Hope if he is to go, BS and JW have got something really big up their sleeves waiting incase this happened. It would be complete stupidity to sell RSC without a replacement as we all know, we'll never see the money come June so its pointless just taking the money.
herbergeehh Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What about the Pog? We need a midfielder too!! Is Andy Burton = Stroke Boy? Hasn't winked since I tuned in about five minutes ago.
mckenny16 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What use is a player who is unlikely to be fit before March??? This is clearly a City stunt so they can say they backed Hughes. SSN are obviously delighted as well because it keeps the advertisers happy. 30 minutes is not enough time to drive to Eastlands keeping within the speed limit, never mind have a medical and send Sturridge in the opposite direction. But it is long enough to for both clubs to send an e-mail to the FA. The deal could be granted dispensation to be sorted out with 24 hours.
rebelmswar Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 We all knew this was going to happen. We need to make some serious phone calls or emails within the added time. FFS Man City!!!!
B.R.F.C Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If City want him this badly then we need to take them for all they're worth. Should be asking City for the likes of Johnson and Sturridge plus a good deal of cash. We are in no position to sell and to be quite honest we really shouldn't unless the deal is exceptionally good.
