Fraserkirky Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 If we managed to buy Mbami,Diouf and Chimbonda, I would be absolutely delighted! Not sure about givet, do we really need him? Or is someone away to leave?Left-back and centre-half are probably our strongest positons. I think we should take anything 15million+ for RSC. Buy a replacement and bank the cash for summer.

Stevo Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Yeah but having Gamst in means that the midfield is symmetrical in terms of name length, Diouf and Gamst link up with 5 letters, Grella and Mbami with 5 and Dunn in the middle with 4. You have to think about these things...
mattyboy6000 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I disagree there. If anything, Pedersen is better than both of them. they're both crap!

Anyway I think these two could easily be the two nicko are waiting to reveal..
Stevo Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 My bad - Grella = 6 letters/symbols and M'Bami = 6 letters/symbols lol Yeah I think we may have cracked it, can you let us know Nicko?

Actually...there are only 5 letters in Grella- G, R, E, L, A. It's just L appears twice ;-) And the apostrophe in M'bami isn't a letter either...but M is used twice, like in Grella.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ja...transfer-window Picked up on a spying expedition to Blue Moon.. reset your Roque clocks £18m + Ben Haim... rather just have the £18m.
Stevo Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I'd take 18mil+Ben Haim, would rather it was Onouha though. Could try and sneak in Jo on loan until the end of the season as part of the deal? Admittedly I haven't seen him play much at all but there must be SOME potential in him?
bennyboyt11 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 more I think about it, the more I want to make a decent profit for Cruz now as I fear his desire and form for Rovers has long passed...
philipl Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 £18m cash all up front plus Ben Haim- wow! Ask for more.
T4E Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 £18m cash all up front plus Ben Haim- wow! Ask for more. Thats a pretty astounding deal if the cash is immediate. I'll be over the moon if it goes through on those terms.
rovers1995 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Thing is selling a striker and getting a defender, we should have asked for another striker, we need strikers.

The world has gone mad. A left-back that costs £12m and is paid £100,000 per week. And I thought Chelsea were bad... We should be asking £18m + Ben Haim + Sturridge, the comfy chair and their recipe for lemon ice-cream
Tom 1 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Well surely 18m can help towards a new striker, whilst also solving any defensive problems at the same time?
rovers1995 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Well surely 18m can help towards a new striker, whilst also solving any defensive problems at the same time? What striker would you buy that will settle into the premierleague easily, we are in a relegation fight and we need all the goals we can get. Selling our top striker to a relegation rival is not the solution. If Benni gets injured or loses form again, we are BUGGERED.

I'm not being funny here but the very fact your getting 18m for him is madness enough, he's done nothing this season, your effectively getting top dollar for one good season...his stocks never been higher. For 18m you will find a striker that can score you some goals and improve the rest of the team as well. I mean in fairness he's scored how many this season? I don't think RSC being gone will be the difference between staying up and going down to be honest....but the money you get for him might be.

Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Podolski is not going to come here in a million years.

We know he can score goals in the Premier League and also, if(and I dont think we will) go down then he looks quite content to play in the Championship. Would be a great signing I think. Been on fire this season scoring 16 league goals.

Its crazy money, we could find a striker to make as much impact as he has this season for £1m, let alone the rest of it. He's done nowt this season, there's nothing to replace in terms of performance. It's not the daunting prospect that some seem to think.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I'd take the deal if Sam is given most of the funds from the deal. Ben Haim i assume is being brought in because Ooijer is looking to go back to Holland (AZ still interested in Andre Nicko?). i can't see him starting ahead of Samba and Nelsen, Sam might want to play him at right back though...
Hughesy Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 That M'bami fella is out of contract in summer so would be quite cheap in the window
