Hi Nicko.

Any news regarding Ryan Taylor possibly moving clubs in the transfer window....maybe to Blackburn?

Right full back, or right midfielder? Never seen him play, or at least never noticed it, but he was supposed to join all the top clubs at one point wasn't he? Age and nationality would suit Rovers.

Nicko. the site "calciomercato" are reporting that Man City have a 20million € bid for Trezeguet prepared but only of they miss their first targets, Roque Santa Cruz and Lukas Podolski.

Any truth in this?

Also, any truth in the story that Rovers want Makukula from Benfica?

I know Makulula is for sale for around 4 million €

TREZEGUET...doubt it...but I think there may be another striker ahead of Roque on the Man City shopping list...wait for 11pm.

VILLANUEVA...how can you be planning to sub the only player who looks like doing anything?...and then still sub him?

TAYLOR...contract up in summer...Bolton sniffing...ok...but nowt special.

MAKUKULA...was watched by Hull in the summer and rated not good enough.

Just a quickie...

TEVEZ...wants out of Man U...said a few things in Atgentina...and his 'people' are trying to get Man City to take him...whoops.

STEVE FINNAN...slight Rovers interest...but could be going to Tottenham...if he is fit.

PEDRO MENDES...may leave Rangers...a bit of Newcastle interest.

Heard a GIVET rumour about a rival club...not writing it yet, but it's a concern.

Well said Alan.

He'd seen enough. Carlos could make it but leaving him on against an agricultural co operative more used to hay making than play making, teaches neither side nowt. So probably Sam fancies him and was giving him protection. He loves his set pieces Sam. And seeing that left foot soar like a Condor over an Andean mountain would have given him a bonk on larger than a Mayan pyramid. Our gringo will be back.

That was my thought as well. I would love it if he would get a chance against Fulham...

Sheer poetry :)

Aye, my own thinking about Carlos when it was revealed we weren't going to buy him in January and were willing to let him look elsewhere was simply that Sam had only just arrived, knowing next to nothing about him, so couldn't possibly sanction a 4-5 million pound purchase of him. And at the same time, probably felt it was unfair to the lad to force him to stay knowing no deal was in the offing. But the fact he started today suggests Sam has seen enough of him in training to think he might be worth a punt at a cheaper price (And I'm sure Saprissa know that nobody will pay 4-5 mill on his showings so far) in the future. Hopefully he gets some cameo appearances and, if he impresses, maybe we try again in the summer for less. I'd still be happy if we paid 2-3 million for him, I'm positive he will make it big some day. I think he suffered firstly from not getting given a fair chance when he was playing well early on, and then from finally being given his chance but at the onset of winter, making him play in conditions he won't be used to in his homeland. Particularly since he is a technical player, I think this damaged his performances a lot.
