it would be city if anyone

i doubt it though

Yeah was a City fan that told me. I told him it was rubbish but then when I thought about it... it did make me wonder. They want another central defender, he has played for Hughes and is probably available for less than the £8m they were on about paying for Toure.

people think too much sometimes. it is possible but we could ask for £10mil for him with his age and potential, their billions and the fact we really dont need to sell, especially if we get money for santa.

Newcastle are planning on "spending big" again, aren't they? Last I heard they were trying for Baby Ferguson too..?

Samba has the potential to become a Tyneside Class defender. For us, his technique and positioning is messy, but with a bit composure on top - for them, it will be Titus Bramble times three..

That being said, I expect Blackburn to be extremely tough on players like Samba. He has a great future, and until a really big club shows up, we will show the suitors where they can stuff their money. I think our best players should stay, or go to a top four / foreign team. As soon as we sell Samba or whoever to Newcastle or Spurs or Everton, it's a big punch in the belly to someone who thinks that, regardless of economic strength, we should be as good as, or better than, those clubs.

The Tevez thing is shocking, I know it sounds bitter and to be honest it is, but as a Villa fan I'd be livid at how we're trying to fight our way in to even have that bracket of players open to us by getting CL yet they can swan in at 17th or wherever they're lying and have a chance of Tevez? Always liked Tevez but talk about money merchant, unexpected!

Enjoy it while it lasts Hughes you ####, you'll be out that door within 2 months.

Given the price for RSC I would normally say that it was a great deal.. but having seen what we have done in the past...

RSC out.. 18m in the coffers for board members.. and a substandard if any replacement.. I would rather keep RSC..

Sorry probably not entirely appropriate.. but I cant see us spending 1/4 of what we make on sales...

This morning's lancashire telegraph have quotes from Diouf saything that Sam has been in touch and wants to sign him, also that he expects his future to be sorted quickly. He also says that our old friend Steve Bruce is interested. The telegraph have got the quotes from an interview he has given to a Senegalese newspaper.

The Sun article that is pasted says it has to be a loan for Diouf because of the not playing for more than two clubs in a season rule.

Is that right that a loan can get round that rule and did he turn out for Bolyon this season or was he just registered by them?

We all know it happens, but how would you feel if Santa Cruz came out and said I was talking to Mark Hughes the other day and he said he wants me.

Even though we know it happens behind the scenes, it shouldnt be explicitly stated, should it now?

But have the Rovers or Sam come out and said this?

It is a quote from Spit the Diouff isn't it?

Apart from the fact he might be joining us, most people would treat that with a dose of cynicism. If Sam is in trouble then so is Steve Bruce.

Spit the Diouf signed for Sunderland in July 2008 so hasnt played for two clubs this season; his last game for Notlob was 3rd May, against Sunderland!!!

He's hardly prolific though is he... 0 in 12 for Sunderland, 21 in 114 for Notlob, 3 in 58 for Liverpool. The guy is living off his good performance in the World Cup of 2002.

Stay clear of him as far as I'm concerned.

i think with diouf, he's abit like rooney per say that he won't score an AMAZING amount of goals but the work he does goes uncounted for...

he will put in good crosses and use his pace for a good counter attack... i think he provides more assist and build up a play much more than anyone gives him credit for.

he's a play-maker forward and not a out and out scorer like benni

Diouf hasnt played for Bolton this season, he joined Sunderland in summer. As someone else mentioned.

Diouf has pace, is tricky, loves running at his man and can also put in many of good crosses. All things which we lack quite abit. He also doesnt mind getting stuck in and winding up the opposition.

Vid of him

Season starts 1 July so Bolton might have registered him as their player before the transfer.

I believe you actually have to have turned out for the team you're registered to for it to count. That was what held up Daniel Cousins move from Rangers so Fulham last January, he had played 10 mins or so for Lens at the start of the season.

Diouf is a loon. He can move if anyone wants him. I would be stunned if Wigan fancied him and I am hoping Rovers find better.

Samba is not going anywhere as we speak. He was unsettled under the previous management, but seems happy enough with Sam.

Thought it was significant that Bunn played last night - and not Brown. Makes me think Sheff U could get him sometime soon.

Sam is willing to let Villanueva go and has been since he arrived. I'm not sure he is Sam's type of player which is why he was dragging him when he was the only player with the vision and skill to make an attacking pass. The best thing I can say about Carlos is that he would look a player in Coyley's team.

Just a quickie...

TEVEZ...wants out of Man U...said a few things in Atgentina...and his 'people' are trying to get Man City to take him...whoops.

STEVE FINNAN...slight Rovers interest...but could be going to Tottenham...if he is fit.

PEDRO MENDES...may leave Rangers...a bit of Newcastle interest.

Heard a GIVET rumour about a rival club...not writing it yet, but it's a concern.

Did he definitely say it though or is it a chance of a mis translation. I remember the story about him saying Ronaldo should go to Madrid was a mis translation, at least according to RFW.

Any news on BFS's view on the players yesterday, did anyone do enough to stay!!!!

Perhaps Carlos has done enough to persuade Sam he is worth keeping until the end of the season at least and deciding then.....
