gazsimm Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Diouf is a loon. He can move if anyone wants him. I would be stunned if Wigan fancied him and I am hoping Rovers find better. Samba is not going anywhere as we speak. He was unsettled under the previous management, but seems happy enough with Sam. Thought it was significant that Bunn played last night - and not Brown. Makes me think Sheff U could get him sometime soon. Sam is willing to let Villanueva go and has been since he arrived. I'm not sure he is Sam's type of player which is why he was dragging him when he was the only player with the vision and skill to make an attacking pass. The best thing I can say about Carlos is that he would look a player in Coyley's team. Has Diouf upset you or something Mr Nixon, its quite clear you dislike him!!!, Diouf was a good player at Bolton under Sam and if Sam can get him back to how he was then, i think he will do very well at Rovers. As for Carlos i think Burnley is his level i am affraid, the only good things he has done this season has been against lower league teams.

The Prof. Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 i think with diouf, he's abit like rooney per say that he won't score an AMAZING amount of goals but the work he does goes uncounted for... he will put in good crosses and use his pace for a good counter attack... i think he provides more assist and build up a play much more than anyone gives him credit for. he's a play-maker forward and not a out and out scorer like benni Diouf is like Rooney! Are there 2 Dioufs?
thenodrog Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Because he's a dirty diving spitting **** simple as that. Like I've said before I've never hated any footballer as much as I hate that rat So I guess it's sitting in some Rishton pub next to waggy watching it all on the telly. Just be honest Gav if you are growing out of going to Ewood just say so.
gazsimm Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Dont know what to make of Diouf other than he might be better than Matty Derbyshire but the thought of Roque out and Diouf in fills me with dread and sees Rovers heading only one way. I think u will see Diouf playing as winger at Rovers rather then playing up front. When Roque leaves i am sure sam will be looking to bring in a top class forward.
thenodrog Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Has Diouf upset you or something Mr Nixon, its quite clear you dislike him!!!, Hmmm..... I thought that. Methinks he doth protest too much.
waggy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 So I guess it's sitting in some Rishton pub next to waggy watching it all on the telly. Just be honest Gav if you are growing out of going to Ewood just say so. because people have principles, and refuse to sell there soul to the devil, there growing out off going to ewood
Hughesy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 So diouf on the wing for as little as £2m. Who would you rather played there? Derbyshire, emerton?? Looks like the best bet to me. Yes he is a clown, but so was savage before he joined us. As for Principles - I support Blackburn Rovers FC and whatever that contains. I wasnt keen on Savage, Yorke, Ferguson but i didnt moan off and use it as an excuse. ROVERS TILL I DIE!! Shame the same cant be said for you.

Just be honest and admit it waggy..... you'll feel better for it and I'm sure that your mates will tire of taking the p1ss eventually.

Ewood and I Would Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Arrrgh what is some people problems with comparisons on message boards? You compare two apects of two things and someone interprets it as you saying the two thing are EXACTLY the same. It's happned twice now just over the last two pages. No one said Diouf was as good as Rooney, they merely compred the type of striker they are (i.e support striker who sets up more than he score). Same with the Okoxha and Carlos comparison, someone pointed out that Okocha wasn't "Sam's type of player" either but then some idiot comes back and makes out like the person had said Villaneuva is EXACTLY the same and as good as Jay Jay. This is the most annoying thing about message boards and can never work out if the person replying is taking the mick or just doesn't get comparisons.
The Prof. Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 i hated Robbie Savage before Rovers signed him, but it still did not stop me going to watch Rovers!!!! Savages affect on the team was probably my biggest football surprise!

Fife Rover Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I also dislike what I have seen of Diouf in his earlier encounters with Rovers, but that does not mean I cannot also see that he has certain attributes that could be very useful to Rovers at this point in time. One that I can see is Benni playing off Diouf, and scoring a few as a result. I see Diouf as a Bellamy type (though obviously not as good).....decent pace and skill on the ball and the ability to go wide and get in decent crosses; just what benni needs. What do you think of that Nicko?
gazsimm Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 i explianed this before,i watch most games in the pub,be it manure, liverpoo or chelski,i refuse to go tonight though do you post on here while u are in the pub as well waggy!!, Do you not think Sam has settled in quite nicely at Rovers Waggy?? . If Ince was still in charge we would be bottom of the league now and probably long gone into the championship, at least under Sam we have a realistic chance of watching Premership football at Ewood next season. any way back to nicko's topic!!!!!!!
braddock Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 hi nicko, apparently Peter Lovenkrands wants to play in the Premiership. i think i would prefer him to diouf, any ideas as to who he would be interested in playing for and who would be interested in signing him?
Ricky Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Back on topic now please, getting sick and tired of trying to keep this thread in check. Please think before you post. I dont care where Waggy watches the games from and I'm sure 99.9% of members on this messageboard don't give a toss either. Please help us to keep Nicko's thread at least slightly easier to read by discussing things that Nicko has mentioned and not going off topic. Posting rights have been and will continue to be removed for people taking this thread off topic. Thanks Ricky
islander200 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Nicko is ther anything happenin? Is there any interest in any of our fringe players?
Gav Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 So I guess it's sitting in some Rishton pub next to waggy watching it all on the telly. Its great sitting next to Waggy in the pub, had many an happy day or three But if I decided not to go down because of that rat, I'd certainly not be watching it on the telly either.

What if Diouf was signed and turns out he saves our arses. Will you still hate him? It's pathetic how some fans don't support their team because of stupid reasons. No wonder we have empty seats. Nicko any news on Pennant?
Iceman Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I get the feeling things might pick up on deadline day, so dont worry. Nicko any further news on Ben Haim?
Oklahoma Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Nicko, portuguese newspapers are referring that Newcastle United want pedro Mendes. Their idea is to get him on loan with a possible signing fee of 1.6million €. If it's so cheap; i think we should try to get him. Any truth in this?
