Nicko, portuguese newspapers are referring that Newcastle United want pedro Mendes.

Their idea is to get him on loan with a possible signing fee of 1.6million €.

If it's so cheap; i think we should try to get him.

Any truth in this?

I think there is, Nicko confirmed this last night in his 11 o'clocker. Not sure what type of deal though, decent player but wouldn't want him at Rovers.

Samba is not going anywhere as we speak. He was unsettled under the previous management, but seems happy enough with Sam.

can you shed any light on why he was unsetled under ince (or indeed any general dirt...)

Nicko

Any truth in the rumours that Everton are after Pavel Pogrebnyak? Any idea how much and whether we might possibly look to invest any of the RSC income on him. All in my dreams I suspect but I really rate him and wonder if he would be in our price range.

What if Diouf was signed and turns out he saves our arses. Will you still hate him? It's pathetic how some fans don't support their team because of stupid reasons. No wonder we have empty seats.

I'll hate the rat whatever he does.

Do you really need to have light shed on that? The only one not unsettled was Ince himself who thought he was doing a good job - just had bad luck. The probability was that most the squad were unsettled during Ince' time. The same player Ince had have just gone 3 games unbeaten in the prem - all three should also have been wins - the team deserved to win in all three. could that ever e said during Ince's time?

I don't like Diouf and don't really want him here, he's a dirty spitting cheat, but if he puts on a blue and white shirt then he'll have my full backing, we are battling relegation and it sounds like he is available relatively cheapily so we could probably do worse.

I'm not even sure of what his best position is though, I know he's played upfront or wide right in a 5 man midfield but has he ever played as a right midfielder in a 4 man midfield?

Any news yet nicko on players leaving the club?

not even WHEN they won.

There are so many good footballers past and present, who have been bad boys yet they were or are brilliant when on the field. George Best, Maradona, Cantona,Bellamy,Benni, Diouf etc etc. Its not acceptable their behaviours, but its part and parcel of their characters and you would be foolish to change their ways. The best thing with players like Diouf, is to just allow them to do what they do best and its not spitting, but playing good football. We would be foolish to not sign such a character, who not only has something to prove, but also if its 2mill we got nothing to lose.

"He captained Pleasington and Mill Hill St peters after Alaric Lowe left for FC Barcelona. He signed for Blackburn Rovers on 6th January 2009."

Hilarious.

Lol someone is obviously on there now cos it keeps changing, he was a part time plumber it says now. Not me by the way, although I did make changes to Oliver Holt's which wikipedia removed most of, damn them!

I dont think for 2 mill you will find a more capable player than Diouf, loads of experience

true, but we still have the potential to lose 2mil, that was my only gripe - the fact 2mil is nothing in your eyes

i agree its cheap and i think it might be worth it, i was just shocked at the way you said it

according to todays sun newspaper michael johnson the city midfielder maybe allowed to leave , possibly squeezed out by all the new arrivals, i though he was a really good prospect but seems to have gone off radar recently , young ,english, good engine , decent passer ,eye for a goal just what WE should be looking for ?

Why not? I can't see any of the big four even considering him, think Villa/Everton would have bigger fish to fry too. If he's available at a knock down price he'd be the sort of signing I'd like to see.

If he's so good, why, quite a while ago, has he faded from the squad of a team, struggling near the bottom of the league? Not ready for the Prem I suspect. We don't need those kind of players at the moment.

i could see him going to a city, like newcastle or somewhere in london. could see him at fulham before us

there is a chance though, depending on allardyce's persuading skills which i highly rate
