Well the LET reckons we are going to be making a solid move for someone pretty soon.

To quote John Williams "There is one player we have moved on. I would say we are very close to making a bid for one player".

LET reckons the player in question is Diouf.

Thing is - what exactly is there to do and move on, before making a bid??? It must be Givet who is having a trial - maybe he has already completed a few days training? (Nicko?)

yeah, i only know one bolton fan and he hates nolan, megson and hunt

I know at least 20 bolton fans (mates) and work with at least another 30 (work in bolton), and not one of them has a good thing to say about him for the last 2 years.

What about the screamer against us last year ?

Yes we can blame 99% on Ince.

Sensible move at this stage to avoid creating the sort of disquiet there is at Man City where the whole squad apart from the ones agitating for the Manager's head think they are going to be replaced! At the moment, does City look like a dream move for anyone? That's why the money is so daft!

Good news that a right winger is on the radar. That is by far our greatest weakness.

Fill that position then Bert can go to right back or central depending on who else we get.

You should look higher up the command ladder than just Ince philipl.

Geremi would sort a lot of our problems: Defensive midfield, Right back. Similar to Emerton in a lot of ways. I also think he would offer the work rate and strength we need. Plausible. Like Neill he is vulnerable if exposed but seems to work well in a rigid formation.

Nicko - have you followed up this Semioli story? Sounds very interesting. I don't know too much about him but does seem to have the pedigree and the attributes (pace, dribbling) which we need to add to the side. Could just be his agent fishing though....

Not a bad player, you don't play for Real Madrid and Chelsea if you're that bad.

Thing his main problem is the fact that he's quite versatile. He tends to get shifted around a team quite a bit. Impressed at Boro as well. Think he'd be a good Sam type signing. Lost his way a bit in the last couple of seasons, but then that happens to most players when they sign for Newcastle.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

He could be a useful squad player and if Kinnear isn't playing him along with his age he could well be available on the cheap, nothing to get too excited about though I don't think.

Nicko, assuming that the Arabs give Sparky enough money to buy Roque, are there going to be any disagreements on price? I keep reading that Man City won't pay over the odds for any player, yet the price range for Rocky keeps ranging from 15m to 20m according to various reports. How much of a stumbling block could that prove to be at the last minute if both parties decide they want the transaction to happen? I am sure Rocky wants to maximise his cut after all...

Why's that then?

I do the funnies.

I believe those numbers are being crunched right now between Roque's mob and Man City...who knows what other small print there is.

If Roque thought he was getting £5 million in six months he might need some persuading to take a 'cut' now.

And his handlers will want their percentage.

Sad, but true.
