Nicko, is there any chance Big Sam would bring Bellamy back to Ewood, given Defoe has now signed for Tottenham and he does not have many likely buyers now?

Not a snowflakes chance in hell I'm afraid. Bellamy has "bigger" clubs wanting him and he's used us as a stepping stone before and this time it's West Ham's turn.

why do people want bellemy back? he's a nutter. I wouldnt have him back ever.

I hope sam adds some pace to the squad in January. We really need a proper right sided full back, a creative midfielder and a right winger... Anything else would be a luxury with our budget in my opinion.

Not a fast moving transfer window this one.. hmm..

Givet, Sim the italian dude, Hyppia, Ben Tal, Neil, Geremi, Diouf.. not exciting but better than the summer rounds I guess. Any news on these Nicko?

Just waiting for Mr Ireland, Alan Smith and Joey Barton to be linked to us.. then I may finally believe my team is the craziest in the league..

One thing I will give Sam credit for is he ALWAYS seems to know which players are unsettled and willing to play for a smallish club (in reference to size of town).

Ireland's been one of the best players in the league this season. Besides, he shouldn't be mentioned in anywhere near the same breath as those two. He's just a comical character who makes bewilderingly stupid decisions. Like telling the Ireland coach his grandma had died when his girlfriend suffered a miscarriage - admittedly news he wouldnt want to make public but obviously a silly thing to do.

Also getting his girlfriend's car painted this colour:

And getting a hair transplant because he was being bullied about his baldness by the rest of the team

You know, if all of you would stop coming on here @ 10:45 PM GMT & hitting F5 a dozen times in some vain attempt to appear as an "insider" to whatever morons (that would be friends &/or employers if you're one of those Sky/Sun/ESPN idiots) in your lives would fall for such an idea, then maybe the site wouldn't crash for 4 hours and Alan could post his "11 O'clocker".

Something to try for Thursday perhaps boys and girls?;)

This morning's lancashire telegraph report that deal for Diouf is now unlikely, they understand that the Sunderland manager has decided to keep him. They also say that he was Sam's top transfer target.

The Semioli link is interesting, he's a very good player. Would be a bold move, Italian wingers are often quite different from the ones you find in the Premier League. But he probably wouldn't cost that much, being on the fringes at Fiorentina.

QPR linked to City's Michael Johnson this morning. Good player.

not too much news/rumours.

JW says they are close to making a bid for someone they will not make a lot of bids, but try to get their targets. so far no bids made of received.

apparently Givet is about to get a trial.

Carlos still has a chance to win a contract with the club.

thats it as far as i can see, so no real news.

and...

bentley looks to be dropped by Redknapp.

MEN today running with the story that no bid has been lodged for Roque and this is strange given the need for a striker and the fact they bid for him twice in the summer. Does make you wonder if Hughes and the Owners transfer targets are so different that they can't agree. Seems very strange anyway.

MB, City are probably waiting until the last moment. Otherwise they could be aiding a fellow struggler. Can't see them wanting to do that.

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. If they wait until the last minute and then take Roque it'll leave us with little or no chance of getting a suitable replacement and thus they have harmed one of their relegation rivals. If Roque does have this release clause then there is little Rovers can do about this, if however the clause is not active until the Summer then Rovers are in a strong position as they can tell Roque's people that he will not be able to leave if there are any last minute bids.

Either that or Man City are waiting to see if the owners sack Hughes in the next 2 weeks!

Kamy: Nicko revised his intial clause statement by saying that it wouldn't be active until the summer. We hold the cards here, we have to be tough as it'll only screw us over in the short term.

I have removed about 10 posts of slanging between members. Can I point out that if you do not wish to read Nicko's posts then you don't have to click the topic and only reply if you think it will add to this topic.

Nedum Onuoha

Any substance in this?

Nicko says that if 3 or more clubs are being linked it is rubbish.

Nicko?

It appears he is the only player we are being linked with, now that Diouf transfer is suppposed to be off. Apart from that no other Rovers link to players in the media today.

I don't believe there was a Nicko update last night and currently no news from him today. He maybe busy writng an article about football being a game of 2 halves and the second half often being the worse half.

Would you have Bentley back at Rovers? Cut down price of course.

yes. but only if he is motivated to play for rovers, and the price is low, and no stupid clauses in his contract. he would without doubt be a great player for us.

Roque is obviously starting to become a 'live' one. I heard - and this is yet to be confirmed - that there is a large 'pay as you play' element to the offer because of concerns over his injuries.

If that is the case it is more than a bit cheeky.

The most likely signing just now does seem to be Givet which is alive despite rival interest from Newcastle.

Pretty sure that Rovers have yet to decide on a right back - they seem to be looking at a couple.
