Correct I did, however they didnt alert me to his talent. I have thought it for at least 6 months. United havent signed him though...and never bid for him... we sure they wanted him??

Yassine Chikhaoui would be a very good player to sign. (Just spotted him on youtube ha ha)

I don't believe they wanted him or Valencia

They were unsettling them prior to the Wigan v Man Utd match on the last game of the season.

That was my interpretation anyway.

We have 2 left backs, we are also looking at Givet.

Tottenham want a left back and Harry doesnt like Bale. Im sure nicko mentioned something some time ago

I can see your thinking Hughesy, but I dont agree.

Warnock is the number 1 left back, Olsson isnt ready yet and isnt good enough to be relied on in case of emergencies.

Givet would be a good back up and will be good to challenge both Warnock and Nelsen.

I agree, if anything then Warnock will move back into midfield and Givet will come in as left back.

Givet ISN'T a left back. He is a left-footed defender and he is capable of playing the position, just like Ooijer can play right back. He is a bit quicker than Ooijer so doesn't look quite so out of place, but offers nothing going forward. He is a central defender and if we sign him we should expect him to play there whilst offering experienced cover for Warnock should he get injured.

On top of that, no one can be expecting Givet to be brought in with the view to him starting. He hasn't kicked a ball in anger in months and we can only be looking at him to add cover to our back four.

This morning's lancashire telegraph reports that Rovers are about to make a bid for a player who is versitile and can play down the right hand side. They do not give a name but it sounds as though this nickos man Chertin (sp).

Down the right side, meaning both defence and midfield, or defence?

Yup meaning that this player can play Right Back or as Right Winger.

I was under the impression Chretien style of play was like Alves of Barcelona (obviously not as good) and thought that if that is the case then he deffo could play on the right wing, although I have never seen Chretien play, looks like i'll have to look him up on Youtube.

IF Chretien is an offensive right back I think Emo can continue on the right wing.

Emo will have the opportunity to make a 2-1 situation with Chretien allowing him to either go in (where he is best) or passing Chretien going forward. This has totally lacked with Ooijer as RB, but worked very well With Bentley - Emo. Altough Bentley also knew how to put in a really good cross.

Interesting that Rovers should close to a versatile right-sider...I will take it that is Chretien, but I am not 100 per cent sure. There are other right backs under discussion and review.

The Roque thing rumbles on...last I heard £15 million straight cash gets him...with Roque giving up any claim on a pay-off...sounds right to me.

Givet should be in today...as long as the plane lands...interesting suggestion from someone that Samba could play defensive midfield...quite a good thought.

Spurs certainly need a left back and were watching Warnock...but with the clubs both in a relegation battle I think that is a hard deal to do for many reasons.

Anelka - no chance.

However there are whispers about a striker, working overtime on that right now.

Givet ISN'T a left back.

D'oh, I'd been hoping that Warnock could play left wing and Givet left back. I think Warnock has all the attributes to be an excellent left winger and certainly superior to Gamst. It could still happen, I guess, because the No. 1 rule of left footed defenders is that, no matter how bad a full back you are, you will play left back at some stage (Just ask Nisse and McEveley).

Iv always thought Samba could play higher up, but due to the fact he is probably our best central defender then it just doesnt seem possible as it would weaken us at the back.

Thought Warnock was on there radar!

Dropping Kishi, or maybe Givet, would allow him to move into the slot.
