nicko Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Never knew that papers didnt publish on X-mas day. Proof that the BBC, Sky and the internet sites could not live without newspapers.

Blue n White Rover Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Is there any truth in the Ex-Argentina coach taking over from Sparky? Or is that just him trying to get himself in the frame for the job? If that did happen it would me more likely that Roque stays.
Mc Love Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Nobody works on Christmas day....yeah right
Iceman Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Nicko, what happens if there is a huge development on Christmas day? Do the newspapers leave it,until the next day or how does it work. Im sure they dont want to report on a day old story, which has been covered by radio and television as breaking news.
tchocky Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Why on would there be "a huge development" on Christmas day? That would mean club leaders/agents would be at work on Christmas day. Really doubt they ever are.
Iceman Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 You never know, stranger things have happened before.

Im sure they dont want to report on a day old story, which has been covered by radio and television as breaking news. There have been a couple of things going on over the past two days - there wasn't a paper today to report it. The Bellamy chase is getting warmer, the Pennant race stranger. And I've got a wee belter about Wigan that will come out in the morning. Cheers...
Clitherover Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 ''And I've got a wee belter'' I'd go to the doctors about that fella.
thenodrog Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Orr...won't be going to Rovers...out of contract in the summer...Championship player. Thats confidence for you.

imy9 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-20996114/ Well I would not say no to Real Madrid, if this interest is true could a bidding war begin?
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-20996114/ Well I would not say no to Real Madrid, if this interest is true could a bidding war begin? If they rate Diarra at £20 mill then Santa Cruz is worth £25mill especially with ruud out long term with injury.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 If they rate Diarra at £20 mill then Santa Cruz is worth £25mill especially with ruud out long term with injury. Counts for nothing when he has an £18 million release clause!!!!
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Counts for nothing when he has an £18 million release clause!!!! Question if you believe Rovers or not! They say it don't exist. I genuinely don't know because Rovers in the past have denied it when one has existed
stuwilky Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I genuinely don't know because Rovers in the past have denied it when one has existed Have we?
dingles staying down 4ever Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Have we? I was thinking of Bellamy but the more I think about it, it was Bellamy who said that one did not exist not Rovers.
67splitscreen Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 If we have to lose RSC, I would prefer he went to Real. Same money, but we won't come up against him in the future, well not this season anyway.
Presty On Tour Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Does Santa Cruz have a virus by any chance?
thenodrog Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Diarra? Pennant? Valencia and now RSC? I guess ' that mob' Madrid must fallen on hard times or more likely the £:euro is making our lot look cheap. But I cannot imagine that the residents in Madrid are throwing street parties about those propects joining their club. Good players without a doubt but I think it's fair to say that none of em would get into the first team at OT. ........ Exactly.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I can't remember where I read it but weren't all the Man Utd players extremely impressed by RSC and were asking Danny Simpson all about him? Any player who impresses the Champions of England, Europe and the World must have a chance of getting into their first team.
Mc Love Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Real will take Roque i'd say! What was Nicko's belter on Wigan? EDIT: found it! http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-20993142/
den Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 "with reports suggesting a clause allows him to leave for £18m in January false, Rovers know they hold all the cards." That's as explicit as it gets isn't it? I know they didn't insert the words "or indeed any other sum" after "18m" but that's what he meant. In some ways, if he's going to leave, we would be better with a clause. Otherwise the bidding would start much lower.
Eddie Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Except the rumours of the clause have lead to the initial quoted price being around the 18 million mark. If clubs know that there is a clause then they will obviously bid below that at first, knowing that they can't be worked higher than the clause.
