I'ts nothing to do with Ince surely, don't think we can associate this one with him. If Ince had put it in place then surely he would have been here at the start of the window, not 12 days or so in to it.

Interestingly enough the macclesfield website, as well as other websites class him as a midfielder.

Stats for last year, Apps : 1(10) Goals: 1

Haven't found this year yet.

Although possibly after finding this link http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-20731144/

It says he wouldn't be able to play for us until this transfer window. Still if it was confirmed before then you would have expect it to have been announced, BFS probably gave it the go ahead.

More info behind the deal on the Macclesfield website:

http://www.mtfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,1...1516596,00.html

"Previous Silkmen boss Paul Ince had invited the young striker along to train with the Ewood Park club several months ago. But with Premier League rules preventing any movement of players outside of the transfer window, the move could only be formalised at the turn of the New Year."

Hardly a "shun" as the journo put it. At least the guy's got his head screwed on and claims he's not ready to play abroad just yet.

I think that his attitude deserves a lot of respect. Far too many players are happy to sit on the bench picking up money for nothing.

Unless of course he thinks he can get a better offer.... LOL

Someone has updated Nick Blackman's wikipedia page, if its anything to go by then he has had a long injury which is why he hasn't played much. Still one goal to his name doesn't exactly make him stand out as a prospect for this year, maybe it's the second coming of Jon Stead??

look at maccs website.

he was injured last year, but have mad 11 apps as a sub. as they cant guarantee him playing time, they are happy to sell... yippie. was ince trying to hurt the club for fun??:angry:

Not sure you are right on this one, Nicko! i have heard from some reliable unnamed sources that he will be in today for a medical & talks!?!

oh please. where did you hear? if you are joking, please stop

It is exactly what the People said in the first place, they have just copied it from there.

That's what I was thinking but then we can criticism Tribal and not nicko (who actually wrote it), a bit like when nicko released the clause info and no one said anything until Hughes mentioned it and suddenly the crime of the century had taken place.

It's a strange one but still I would have thought if Ince had completed and finalised the deal then the lad would have been here at the start of the window, BFS must surely have had final say?

But anyway regardless of who bought him it is odd, he is 20 this year which is of course by no means old but if he can't even get into the Macclesfield team in league 2 then what can he offer to us?

To be fair it's nicko's job to break stories, they don't always do things that fans are going to like, it certainly isn't Hughes job to do it.

It would have been just as odd if nicko had selected the Man City team in the last game and was barking out orders on the touchline, still he couldn't do much worse.
