AJW Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 thanks for clearing that up nicko , 14 hours up t'chimney makes t'brain go a bit foggy!
benlloninho Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The striker is a player who would only come in if Roque goes. The 'right sider' is a player you have inquired about but is not the biggest name in the game...a steady Eddie. That has Leon Osman written all over it. IMO. ps thanks for the updates Nicko
Taggart Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 The striker is a player who would only come in if Roque goes. The 'right sider' is a player you have inquired about but is not the biggest name in the game...a steady Eddie. A steady Eddie ? we already have a few of those that can play in that position - Reidy(injured i know) and Emerton, is it an improvment on them, and more importantly, can he put in a decent cross and provide some service !
1878 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 That has Leon Osman written all over it. IMO. ps thanks for the updates Nicko Osman?! You're joking aren't you? He's a quality player, very underrated and has started every week for us for several years. I doubt Moyes would even think about selling him. No chance of him being your man imo.
neophox Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Right sider....Jermaine Pennant....oooops (could be Steve Finnan after hearing reports from Spain) Looks like Givet and Zoro will sign tonight.... Ooijer, Khizanishvili, Mokoena and Vogel should be available this window and may leave....
RoverRich Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Could just be Steve Finnan Nicko said right sider and everyone assumes right winger. Could be a full back...
neophox Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Could just be Steve Finnan Nicko said right sider and everyone assumes right winger. Could be a full back... should be but we have BERT! Maybe its Ooijer leaving then

I doubt Moyes would even think about selling him. No chance of him being your man imo. None of the things you have mentioned prevent us from trying to buy him.
Stevo Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 It surely wouldn't be Osman, such a solid player and an essential part of the Everton squad. He'd cost a hell of a lot I would imagine. I'm thinking it may be Ryan Taylor but he doesn't really fit the steady eddie category :S Hunt is a fair shout actually Neophox
Amo Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Hehe. Oliver Holt would love us even more if it was Steven Hunt! He launched a tirade against him after he injured Petr Cech.
1878 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 None of the things you have mentioned prevent us from trying to buy him. If Moyes not wanting to sell didn't stop you trying then the pricetag probably would
imy9 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 None of the things you have mentioned prevent us from trying to buy him. Wikki states that he has played FIVE league games this year!? could be him but I reckon Finnan is probably a good guess.
rebelmswar Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Now I know it....It's Steven Hunt ! I would be happy with that, puts in a lot of hard work. Wasn't Sunderland knocked back after offering 4.5 mil or something?
AJW Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 stephen hunt plays left midfield.....decent player tho
EwoodGlory Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 DELPH - Fulham want him, but only if they get a buyer for Bullard. His details have been removed from the Leeds website, probably not us in for him, but is he on the move?
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Wikki states that he has played FIVE league games this year!? could be him but I reckon Finnan is probably a good guess. No it couldnt be him. We have as much chance of landing him as Arteta. Its not even worth bothering to think about. Looks as if Man City's main aim is Bellamy and not Cruz. Surely if they desperately wanted Santa then they'd have made a renewed bid for him and not Bellers? All they would need to do is slap £20m down on the table and he's theirs so why are they wasting time..
47er Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Nicko-----apologies if someone has already mentioned this guy but has anyone thought about resurrecting Nugent's career? He joined Portsmouth with a big reputation and an England cap and has been a total flop. He's a local NW lad, still young and worth a try at some point? If we lost Santa for 18M and got him for say 3M and got him back to form we would be laughing. Loads of money left over for other areas that need strengthening. Just a thought.
