Btw Stevo - I had Ryan Taylor's name only few minutes after Nicko mentioned that we were looking at a versatile right winger/back :)

I bet it is Ryan Taylor or Steve Finnan, because Nicko hasn't answered yet.

He seems to dissapear when he is saving his story for the 11 o'clocker.

He also said it wasn't a glamorous signing.

Apparently West Brom are looking at unsettled striker Angelos Charisteas. Could that be the striker that we are also looking at for a Roque replacement?

12 million Euros + Saviola for Valencia??? I would take that if I were at Wigan! Saviola at Wigan would be crazy!

I didn't want it to be Charisteas either, I just thought with his name being previously mentioned he might be linked with us again if Roque does go. I would much rather Lazovic!

Nicko, or anyone, any ideas who the alternative right sider is that Big Sam is gonna go for as rumoured in today's LT:

Also, apparently Santa Cruz is being discussed in a board meeting today after Man City sent in another bid. That is according to MEN.

Some updates.

RYAN TAYLOR - Just been with Brucie and he won't sell Taylor, but the lad does know of the Rovers interest and is keen. Bolton want him too. I have a hunch he won't move in the window.

RIGHT BACKS - Still watching them...interesting line about Chretien in an earlier post. Obviously could be bought - but has to be seen again.

ZORO - Could fill the vacancy, but looks like a squad man with that profile and CV...playing in a closed-door game with Huddersfield right now.

ROQUE - I hear Man City are doing business today...but not hearing Roque's name being mentioned much...we could know more later on.

I was wondering how we thought we had a chance of getting Taylor when he seems to be in a rich vein of form at present until I read that he is out of contract in the summer. Are Wigan in a position to write off £1m or so?

what do you think the chances of the roque -> man city transfer going through are? are we talking dead set or just a possibility? Is it something that is going to drag on until the last day of the window?
