Brownie Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Event at The Hordens Tuesday 10th Feb 2009 Following up on the great successes of the David Speedie and Matt Jansen evenings, we have another Rovers legend but this time one still currently with the Rovers. Miimms was an integral part of the Jack Walker revolution, playing huge part in Rovers' promotion year under Kenny Dalglish and playing during the 1994/95 Premiership winning season. Bobby was brought back to Blackburn by Paul Ince and is now a valued member of Sam Allardyce's backrrom team. Do not miss the chance to question Mimms about the Premiership winning season and how life under Allardyce is different than under Ince. Tickets as always are £5 and payment can be made by paypal to david.brownie@ukonline.co.uk or over the bar at The Hordens.

Brownie Posted December 25, 2008 Author Posted December 25, 2008 Sounds good. What date are you looking at? Good point ! Tuesday 10th Feb
Sandiway Blue Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Thanks! Bit of a shame as i can`t make this one as i am on 2-10 shift ,i really would have liked to have gone.Ah well,i hope it`s a good night for you and hopefully i might be able to go to one of these do`s another time.
brightonrover Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 As Bobby is both currently connected to the club and has links to a previous generation of players there's a fantastic potential for fascinating insights into the club. He must have lots of great tales about when he first joined as a player and the difference between now and then within the club (how it's run etc). It surely wouldn't take a trained investigative journalist/Michael Parkinson to winkle out some stuff about Ince and his staff and how they related to the players (to confirm or deny some of the rumours) and the difference Allardyce has made at the club. Certainly hoping to get to this one and Well Done to Brownie for these events!
mac Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 could we ask Bobby to hold the mic up to his mouth ?
Brownie Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 could we ask Bobby to hold the mic up to his mouth ? Go away you, with your bloody hot brandys !
Bobby G Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Ask him to compare Bunn and Hennessy, as well as Robinson, and how they all match up...
MCMC1875 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Was he the one who caught the coach to away games at the junction of the M62/A1?
Ste B Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 could we ask Bobby to hold the mic up to his mouth ? Might have had a chance hearing if we didnt have people chuntering on about how "bloody hot it is" Can we ask him to be careful he doesn't drop the mike ?
Brownie Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 QUOTE (Ste B @ Dec 30 2008, 16:04 ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Might have had a chance hearing if we didnt have people chuntering on about how "bloody hot it is" Can we ask him to be careful he doesn't drop the mike ? I think we'd hear Mimmsy without a mike and standing in the smoking shelter ! Apparently. according to Andy Bayes, he's hilarious. Could be the best one yet and possibly the most interesting with reference to Ince and Allardyce.
Ste B Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Was not a dig your way, more at Mac who was one of those chuntering away. Intend to be there again for this.
Blue n White Rover Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 MAybe you could ask him the difference in the training regimes between Big Sam and Ince. What the players have done differently and the quality between the two managers?
LynV Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Board members should all wear their user names so we can identify each other.
Stuart Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Board members should all wear their user names so we can identify each other. Someone you'd like to get better acquainted with? (Yes, I know, not me - before you say it!)
LynV Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Someone you'd like to get better acquainted with? (Yes, I know, not me - before you say it!) Have no idea what you look like, nor u me. It would just be nice to see the faces behind the posts.
bazza Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I'll get "bazza" stamped on my forehead, then; or on my bald head and walk round looking at my shoes.

How was it like on the last day at Anfield winning the title and what you remember from the day? 5. Plans for the future? Hope they help
Alan75 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Keepers dont appear to be able to catch the ball as much these days and tend to punch Is this due lightweight balls, (not the keepers) modern day gloves or the lack of ability. Is the game developing into a non physical sport - are keepers over protected these days. who was your biggest influence in becoming a keeper. Brownie you may find some more questions here. tonyoz Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 1) Was Ince really that bad? 2) How do you weigh up the choices: sitting on the bench earning a comfortable wage - or leaving for a less successful club but playing every week? 3) How do you know when you have found a new goalkeeping gem? Who is the best young goalkeeper around at the moment? and what about a Youtube-type record of the event so that far flung supporters can enjoy it?
Brownie Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Thanks everyone, some really good questions there. Hope a few of you are going to attend the event, I cant always guarantee Box Office names ! Brownie
Amo Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 1) Was Ince really that bad? I can't see him making any controversial remarks about the guy who hired him. You'll probably get a generic "He was great with the lads, but it didn't work out for him" reply.
Brownie Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 7 days to go. More questions required please. Anything about Rocky, Ince, Sam, Diouf ??
