Hughesy Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Rocky is a blow but maybe it'll force Sam to play the player who has scored the most goals for us this season! Regardless of weight issues! Here's hoping eh!! Big, small, fat, thin. He scores goals, roberts misses them!!

Rovers_Dan Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 time for the boys to really stand up and be counted tonight. with a lot of commitment and a bit of a luck i think we can get the 3 points we need. my prediction is 2 nil to the rovers!! see you in the 8 belles at 6!

If anyone wants to say hi I'll be the one outside with a grey hooded jumper and black jacket (and Rovers scarf of course) puffing away on my cigarettes and drinking my London-priced pint. Andrew
Blue n White Rover Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Huge game! My nerves are already fried!! Can't wait for this one would be happy with a draw, but a win would give us huge confidence going into the Arsenal game. A player will make himself a hero today with the winner. Keith Andrews, step forward

If he does, we might get Waggy back to watch his beloved Big Sam Maybe Theno will love Incey for buying him I'll stop now, it's never gonna happen
AggyBlue Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 The subs bench will be interesting tonight, do we have enough senior players left to fill it.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Looking at the table and the run in I would say a win is badly needed and could relieve some serious pressure on ourselves. But when you consider the strength of the team it’s looking likely that we will put out I would probably take a draw right now if it was offered.
Eddie Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 That's a good one for me. Bunn is more likely to be a top keeper. Rocky is a blow but maybe it'll force Sam to play the player who has scored the most goals for us this season! Regardless of weight issues! I'm not as positive as you on the keeper issue as I'd like to see a bit of experience in this situation, but I agree that Santa Cruz being out might not be the worst thing. Hopefully we'll then play 4-4-2 and might actually try to score some goals.
den Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Well it just beats me how we are better off with Rocky injured. He's our best striker by quite some way.
bigbrandjohn Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Well it just beats me how we are better off with Rocky injured. He's our best striker by quite some way. Roberts McCarthy with Diouf feeding the opportunities works for me. Roque and Diouf always feels a bit weird as a front two.
Eddie Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Funny how our best striker by "quite some way" isn't our top goalscorer.
den Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Funny how our best striker by "quite some way" isn't our top goalscorer. Who is our best striker, then Eddie? Doubt any of the others would command anywhere near the fee Rocky would - even without City's interest.
Eddie Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Age is a factor in the fees. McCarthy is our best striker and if the two were the same age he would command a similar fee (City's interest not included).

Sorry Eddie, but if Benni can't be bothered to stay at a reasonable weight, and hasn't done all season, then how can he possibly be our best striker? Our best striker at the moment is Rocky.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 You would think with Roque possibly out that Benni will start tonight, but i am not so sure he will due to the weight factor. Sam has been quite vocal about Benni's weight and general level of fitness, to include Benni in the lineup when he clearly is carrying too many pounds could send out the wrong message. Personally if Roque is out i'd start with Benni and Roberts, but i wouldn't be surprised if Sam has different ideas.
philipl Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 I think we will find Sam has been playing mind games. If not, I'll call the knacker's wagon now. The BBC are early candidates for the bullet- tonight's game is at Ewood Park folks.
alexanders Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Is the game postponed due to frozen pitch AGAIN or are the norwegian live update on acid ?
kandi Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Funny how our best striker by "quite some way" isn't our top goalscorer. maybe because of penalties?(some things never change, right Eddie?)
Ozz Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 ROVERS: Robinson, Ooijer, Samba, Nelsen ©, Givet, Tugay, Andrews, Warnock, Diouf, Roberts, Pedersen.
Blue n White Rover Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 ROVERS: Robinson, Ooijer, Samba, Nelsen ©, Givet, Tugay, Andrews, Warnock, Diouf, Roberts, Pedersen. 4-5-1 i presume. Is Roque on the bench?
Bobby G Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Disappointed that Roque wont play... Bench: Bunn, Zurab, Moko, Dunn, Simpson, Benni and Carlos.
the swede Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 ROVERS: Robinson, Ooijer, Samba, Nelsen ©, Givet, Tugay, Andrews, Warnock, Diouf, Roberts, Pedersen. With the team, I believe in 0-0
modes98 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Benni only striker on the bench. Dunn and Carlos. Simpson, zura, moko and bunn the others.
