Hopefully the desire/passion to win is still there. Sort of looking forward to this one.

Part of me thinks that we are due a poor performance/result though, as all new managers tend to get a honeymoon period, and Sam's could be coming to an end....

Got my tickets (thanks to ticketmaster), and decided to drive.

Will probably park at Uxbridge or Watford then train / tube it in

There is free on street parking in the residential side streets 5 mins walk from the ground.

Try somewhere like Perivale just off the A40. On the central line and will only be 30 - 40 mins to Putney Bridge via Notting Hill.

A40 is the only call but myself would be tempted for the M25 M4 route. especially if you are late. Dont fall for the park n ride rubbish. It is cold and at 5 15 you want to be listening to the footy radio and dreaming your way home, not on some massive public transport mission. No need. Go A40 in A41 past Shepherds Bush and keep going over Hammersmith and into Fulham. Parking is fine if you are early. If you are running close to 3 then ignore the above and go M25 west, M4 A4 into Hammersmith and turn right down the Fulham Palace Road. You can park round there on Sats. Stay north of Putney Bridge though. Left or right anywhere. Eight bells at Putney Bridge for a nice pint and a leer at the barman's missus. Who is not to be missed even if kick off is early.

priceless

Im sure all premiership teams have undersoil heating.

Portsmouth don't. A "spineless" decision not to get that done if you ask me. I blame Tony Adams.

Birmingham don't have it either. They were in the Prem last year. Apparently there is a Premier League ruling that all Clubs in the Premier League must have undersoil heating. I don't know whay they bother with these "rule" things.

2-1 Rovers today.

Benni and Woberts. Benni will score with his one and only chance in the 20th minute, smashing home a 10 yard volley while pulling one of his stockings up and reading the Evening Standard. Tony Gale will get the equaliser on 44 mins but then signs for West Ham at half time. Woberts will score with his 15th good chance of the game on 89 mins when he outmuscles the Thames and calmly slots home via the corner flag. Woy goes mad and has a right go at the linesman, which he has previous for.

Big Sams good mood is ruined somewhat after the game when news comes through that Man City have upped their bid for Roque to £12m, three bags of leeks, a second hand Max Boyce CD and a framed signed Katherine Jenkins picture. It's going to be a long transfer window Sam.

Getting all ready, except stupidly left my Rovers shirt at home. If anyone sees the guy in the Vandelay Industries t-shirt with a woman with a centenary shirt, say hi.

Hopefully we'll get approval on our apartment this morning followed by a victory this afternoon!

Good luck American !

Happily Jamie Bullard who always seem to ruin the fun for us is out and won't be putting free kicks at the end in the back of the net.

Though I am a bit anxious over Simon Davies who seems to return for todays match.

Predict;

1-2 Rovers

Benni and Andrews.

I'd take that deal.

3-1 this time we'll put it to bed early.

"It is very cold here in Putney - must still be below freezing. We had freezing fog this morning and the sunshine mentioned in yesterday's forecast has not yet appeared.

I stopped off at the ticket office about an hour ago while out for a run. I spoke briefly to a manager outside the T/O who told me that (a) the covers are on the pitch and they are working hard to make sure it is playable (B) Blackburn are reportedly reluctant to play. It must therefore be a possibility that the game will be called off. That said, I spoke to another couple of official looking blokes up by the Hammersmith End who said that the game was "definitely" on.

I think that it would be very wise to keep the car radio on/keep an eye on SSN in the pub as I suspect that there will be a pitch inspection when the referee arrrives.

As always, DSTM."

A massive fine here is surely essential, did we not have to pay a fine when the Sunderland game was off a few years ago?

Totally unacceptable in todays times, puts more pressure on us if results go against us today
