Ozz Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I watched Ferdinand last night, and for some reason I just wanted someone to make a complete fool of him. Just wouldn't get tired of pasting his face with a frying pan like Vic and Bob.

gumboots Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 No. You wouldn't need any excuse to feel that way about Anton Ferdinand surely? Exactly what I said to my husband. It sent the guy up in my estimation as I've often wanted to thump him and his brother.
roversmum Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 That trick against Roberts and the feigning injury were typical of him.
waggy Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 anything to deflect from spit being a vile character
Iceman Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Hahaha, i assume if the Ferdinand Brothers are spotted by mrs gumboots and roversmum, that the handbags will be out lol I think Spit Diouf will prove to be a quality signing. We could easily accomodate him and Villanueva, but that would mean: Either playing Carlos down the right, and Spit down the left, with dunny and grella in the middle or having 1 up front with Carlos behind the striker. But no doubt, diouf is just what we need.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 anything to deflect from spit being a vile character What he chooses to be with his life is HIS business. If he performes well for the club then all the better.....he's recieved so much shyte from some on here you would believe them to be model human beings of near God like purity! A very good signing indeed.

gumboots Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 anything to deflect from spit being a vile character Not at all. I still don't like what I know of the guy and am gutted that many seem to see him as a wonderful signing but once it's happened then you have a choice to make. You either take yourself off into a corner and stay away from all things rovers, which I very nearly did, or you think of all the positive things around your club, concentrate on them and wait to see what happens. I don't condone anything Diouf has done and i wish he wasn't here but he is so we'll just have to hope that I don't have to cheer his scoring the winning goal that keeps us up as I'll be torn between delight for the club and the desperate wish it wasn't him.

You're off your rocker. I wouldnt care if Fred West scored the goal that kept us up, as long as someone does. Incredible.
John Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I wouldnt care if Fred West scored the goal that kept us up, as long as someone does. Ditto!!
ABBEY Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 if we signed fred west it would be bloody murder trying to get a ticket and the ticket office would make a killing and the atmosphere would be dead unless we sold boddies bitter.
Sandiway Blue Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 I don`t like Diouf`s PREVIOUS behaviour at OTHER clubs, but if we are going to get out and stay out of the relegation zone,we are going to need all the help we can get.Make no mistake,Diouf is a quality player and more importantly plays well for our manager Big Sam who seems to know how to get the best out of him, much the same as Hughes got the best out of Bellamy at Rovers. Diouf comes to Rovers with a clean slate and as long as he gives 100% effort on the pitch he WILL win the Rovers fans over. In my view he should be judged on what he does for Rovers and Rovers only.
den Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 In my view he should be judged on what he does for Rovers and Rovers only. Yup. Do the business on the field and behave himself. No problems by me.
thenodrog Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 you'll not be saying that when he disgraces our shirt You've abandoned it!
herbergeehh Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 if we signed fred west it would be bloody murder trying to get a ticket and the ticket office would make a killing and the atmosphere would be dead unless we sold boddies bitter. You're not supposed to do them all at once. It leaves no pun alive for the rest of us.
roversmum Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I am not happy with the way Diouf has conducted himself in the past, Waggy, and I was not happy when I heard he was coming to Rovers. However, there is no question that Diouf is a talented footballer and if he knuckles down and works hard for our club then I will support him. We need all the help we can get at the moment. I still can't stand the Ferdinand brothers, it's bad enough that there is one of them but TWO is two more than necessary.
Backroom Tom Posted February 5, 2009 Backroom Posted February 5, 2009 You're not supposed to do them all at once. It leaves no pun alive for the rest of us. Yup he's really buried any chance we had of getting one in.
gumboots Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 You're off your rocker. I wouldnt care if Fred West scored the goal that kept us up, as long as someone does. Incredible. Why? Because I'll end up cheering anyway. Of course I will but it doesn't mean I can't wish someone else scored it. You have to retain some feelings of what is right and proper as a person, whilst still wanting the best for your club. If I was in danger and some repugnant oaf saved me I'd probably kiss him but it doesn't mean I'd like the thought of it. What you feel and what you do can be quite separate.
Sandiway Blue Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Yup he's really buried any chance we had of getting one in. I think we have flogged this one to death now....
LeftWinger Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 if we signed fred west it would be bloody murder trying to get a ticket and the ticket office would make a killing and the atmosphere would be dead unless we sold boddies bitter. I think Fred West would actually be a good signing. Or am I just looking through Rose tinted glasses?

If I was in danger and some repugnant oaf saved me I'd probably kiss him but it doesn't mean I'd like the thought of it. What you feel and what you do can be quite separate. If we get to the final day of the season, still battling relegation, in real danger of going down, get to the last 5 minutes of the last game of the year needing a win and Diouf pops up with the goal that saves us, for you to have any feelings other than complete and utter ecstacy is absolutely barmy. No one is bigger than the club. It's often said when people want to leave - but it fully applies in this situation also.
BuckyRover Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 No, but atleast he's not saying it before. You are right T4E. We should definitely give Diouf a chance. Regardless what he has done in the past whilst at different clubs. He deserves to be given a chance by the Blackburn faithful. Where have I heard that before???

DeadlyDirk Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I'm still not sure of exactly where he is going to play for us though if we stick to a 4-4-2. It leaves Ooijer very exposed at right back without Emerton in front of him if Ooijer was to play an orthadox RM role, he's not well known for his defensive abilities. He could play in a 3 man attack or a more advanced wide position but it's a bit of a gamble changing our formation at this stage. Could work though and I think it's the best bet at the moment.
