You are right T4E. We should definitely give Diouf a chance. Regardless what he has done in the past whilst at different clubs. He deserves to be given a chance by the Blackburn faithful.

Where have I heard that before???

Is this another attempt to defend Ince?

Only a mudslinging idiot would think that.

According to many on here, everything I say is an attempt to defend Ince, when in reality it is an attempt to expose peoples prejudices.

I don't have a problem with Ince turning out to be a bad manager (for us). I have a problem with people deciding that this was going to happen before it had.

A lot of people on this thread have been criticised for doing the same with Diouf. (I have the same opinion on Diouf as I had on Ince, the person in charge of the decision decided he deserves a chance to show us what he is all about and we should respect that decision).

Irony.

Bucky with all due respect, there is a colossal difference between an unproven Premier League manager and a proven Premier League player.

According to that poll, 86% of people were prepared to at least wait and see how he got on. Yes, there were some against him from the start, but that suggests they were a very small (albeit vocal) minority.

Aren't you an analyst of some form? Sort yourself out. ;)

Sincerely,

Mudslinging idiot

I puposefully said "many" and not "most". So your post really has no relevance whatsoever. I didn't claim they were in the majority.

Plus the poll doesn't really make any difference, quite a few that were anti-Ince said they were willing to give him a chance but then decided to critcise every decision that he made. (Of course some were bad decisions but nonetheless).

Anyway, I only raised it as a point because it made me smile. Other posters have noticed so we can enjoy the irony together.

With all due respect I agree that managers and players are totally different. I still don't think you can use the argument that one should be treated fairly and the other not.

Also Diouf's past seems to involve far worse incidents.

(iPhone acting weird; hard to type properly)

Well I'd say you are stupid to criticise people for accurate foresight. Shooting the messenger for Gods sake! It's obviously a gift that you don't share. ;) Some have it..... some don't. Any silly sod can try to sound clever using hindsight. Know what I mean Bucky?

I was not best pleased when I heard we signed this unsavoury character, however, I have not heard anything about his antics over here for quite sometime now so I am prepared to give him a chance. I won't forget his dive that gave Bolton the penalty against us but to be fair we had a pretty good diver in training when Bentley was playing for us so I'll reserve judgement. I do have high hopes his ability out wide will provide some good chances for the likes of Cruz and Benni.

Yes you can use that argument.

The manager has the whole team and club at stake, everything from training, positions, tactics, etc.

A player just has to do what he is told and behave himself.

It is easier to accept a player that has proven ability at this level than a manager who has no experience whatsoever at this level.

A manager can destroy a team in short order (as was proven by Ince) it is much harder for a player to have that type of negative effect.

I don't care if Ince was the Virgin Mary before he came to Rovers I still feared and did not agree with the appointment. I also do not care if Diouf sacrificed cats to the Grand Pooba of Slobobia, its what he does from now on that is my main concern.

waggy your like a bloody elephant! :P

For the umpteenth time I didn't want Sparky simply because the LT ran a back page interview with Craig Short who said that he was massively the choice of the players which I thought could lead to unhealthy foundations to his starting position.

Glad to say that I was wrong! Mightily wrong in fact and I have been damned glad to own up and admit it! Over to you waggy!

If we get to the final day of the season, still battling relegation, in real danger of going down, get to the last 5 minutes of the last game of the year needing a win and Diouf pops up with the goal that saves us, for you to have any feelings other than complete and utter ecstacy is absolutely barmy.

No one is bigger than the club. It's often said when people want to leave - but it fully applies in this situation also.

Actually can i disagree with you about one other thing - it should read those who take the slightest notice of facebook petitions are whatever you want to call them. It's not the petition that's daft. there are petitions about all sorts of things all the time but most people know which are the right ones to take notice of and which are the stupid ones. Facebook ones are generally about stupid issues and we all know that.

Promising debut today in an unpreffered position, willing to get stuck in and work for the team and looked handy on the ball.

Let's hope he becomes a success, also it was good not to hear any booing for him.

It's been too long since I saw a Rovers player actually take on a man and get in a good cross from the wing. Not including Bentley.

Without doubt the one bright spot on a miserable afternoon.

Probably best played on the right wing but at least Diouf is a valuable addition to the squad which may prove priceless in the longer term

Wash your ears out.

Dirty spitting horrible rat.

Diouff showed real quality and will hopefully play a big part in our clubs future and yet you turn into some huffy Drama queen! I'm sure that you would be so much happier in some Rishton boozer with waggy for company.

Just to echo what others have said I though Diouf was very good when he came on considering he hasn't played much. He won the ball back before villas 2nd goal (and before warnock made an error) an looked a real handful. I was surprised at how hard he was to knock off the ball and his crossing looked good aswell.

Hope he can improve with fitness and he is a good option for five in midfeild against the top four.
