Hughesy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Well we could have signed Bullard for instance - £5m, 50k wages and a crock!! He puts a hell of a shift in, and as Le chuck says - loves getting stuck in - he sometimes gets abit hot headed, but thats something I love to see in a player. Something we have been lacking for ages.

4ever&ever Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Diouf is still a dirty horrible rat and that won't change. OMG Get over it
jonv Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Diouf is still a dirty horrible rat and that won't change. Are you following the wins and losses of the football club, or are we doing a Dr. Phil 1 on 1 with 'how bad' one man can be? Whilst he's in the Blue and White, if he shows passion and fights for us, then I can only cheer him on. Whilst he's not playing football, I have no real interest. To me he's a footballer. Not a nominee for community ambassador.
Blue n White Rover Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Diouf is still a dirty horrible rat and that won't change. Neither will the FACT that he got us a crucial goal yesterday that took us out the Relegation Zone!
Lathund Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I take full credit for his second half perfomance last night. I thought he was awful in the first half, and posted so in the match thread suggesting that he be subbed immediately. To which he obviously had to respond by going out there and making me look clueless.
Hughesy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Diouf is still a dirty horrible rat and that won't change. Ha ha Dioooooooooooooooooooouf!!! He's already a crowd favourite, stay the other side of the fence though if you wish.
Gav Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 The guys a first class ****, regardless of him wearing blue n white, fighting in Iraq or helping my grandmother across livesey branch road. Hope I've made that clear Next
Backroom DE. Posted March 12, 2009 Backroom Posted March 12, 2009 The guys a first class ****, regardless of him wearing blue n white, fighting in Iraq or helping my grandmother across livesey branch road. Hope I've made that clear Next You're clear, but I'm not sure what your point is, other than stating the obvious. Yeah, he's a bellend, but so was Savage, so was Todd, so was Bentley. We still gave them support when they wore the shirt, Diouf should be no different whilst he's here and putting in the type of effort he put in last night.

Savage was a wind-up merchant, but appears to be a really nice guy. Todd had anger issues at times, but again seems to be a nice person off the pitch. Bentley screwed us around and has a big mouth, but is harmless. Diouf is appears to be quite an unpleasant person and really not the sort of character I want to see being any sort of role model or someone I'd like to see at the club. I wouldn't boo him, but I also wouldn't be as vocal in my support for him as I am for other players on this team. I always enjoyed having Savage and having other fans hate him because you knew he was just out there enjoying himself and liked getting to people, Diouf on the other hand is a totally different type of person. I'll be glad to see him leave the club.
thenodrog Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Diouf is still a dirty horrible rat and that won't change. You are becoming as tedious as waggy and it appears that won't change either. Rem waggy's recent judgements? Waggy's the guy that hated Sav but rates Bobby bloody Zamora highly! He loved Ince's management at BRFC and hates Sam Allardyce's! How can anyone take his judgement seriously now? It also appears that eddie is in your corner now too! The '3 stooges' possibly? You all really need to be less immature and to cultivate some sense of perspective, Diouff is a professional journeyman footballer of quality who is currently signed by BRFC and is currently displaying a very strong and determined willingness to work extremely hard and fight for our cause.... he is not a prospective son-in-law ffs!

T4E Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 No, Savage was a plank too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-I-stomach.html I love Sav. It's a shame his career went down the pan.
Kelbo Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 It boils down to this. we were short of an experienced wide man, where would we find a player of premiership quality for £2,000,000??? Only Diouf fit the bill at the time and Sam got him, he puts in a shift and works really hard, is a winner, hates losing and has provided the team with the balance we were short of. Pederson is also putting in performances again, Sam is utilising his throw more, Givet is quality at the back and the team are looking fitter, hence they are still competing in the last 20 minutes. So, Sam has made two good signings whatever people think of Diouf, he is doing a great job for the team and his goal at Fulham, simple as it was could prove priceless!! he is a Rover, has done nothing wrong at the club and we should support him as we would any other player!!

Only Diouf fit the bill at the time This is the key why we signed him. Compare Jermaine Pennant and his ridicilous wage demands. He hasn't had the same impact at Portsmouth yet. I dislike Diouf, but I actually warming to the feeling that he is wearing the blue-white shirt. He scored a goal and also he RUNS a lot. He is very good defensively as well as offensively.

I'll be glad to see him leave the club. I'm getting sick of this. Please read my post from several pages back. A relative of mine met him at a clinic when he was injured at Bolton and said he was a surprisingly charming bloke - pleasant and friendly to his kids and nothing like his public image. Yes, he's no angel, he'd been an idiot, but I'll judge him on how he gets on in a Rovers shirt and from stuff I hear from those I trust, not the tabloid press.
roversmum Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Let's face it - I've been there myself. When you are passionate about something it is easy to get wound up and do things on the spur of the moment and some find it more difficult than others to deal with. I am not talking about those stupified with drink here.
Eddie Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I'm not judging him based on unconfirmed tabloid speculation, this is stuff that we have all seen and is well documented. I have no doubts that he has his nice moments and is probably very pleasant and approachable most of the time, to be honest most people are. He has, however, shown himself to be capable of very unpleasant acts and is clearly very aggressive. Why does my support for a football club mean that I have to accept any old character that gets signed up? At what point would you draw the line if it isn't your basic moral standard that you would apply to every other situation?
