waggy Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I'm guessing by your remarks that you've given in and are now watching live at Ewood Park??? watched it in the pub

thenodrog Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Well done wagster. Have you got your own chair in the corner yet?
Hughesy Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Whilst we are telling Diouf what to do, maybe we can ask some of the others to put as much effort in as he does.
Backroom Tom Posted April 4, 2009 Backroom Posted April 4, 2009 Special mention for Diouf today, superb effort and looked our biggest threat on the deck. Loved the celebrations at the end as well. As predicted he's quickly becoming an Ewood favourite, hate him when he is against you but love that kind of player in the team.
Exiled_Rover Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 He was not happy at half time walking down the tunnel and word is he had to be restrained at full time. He's certainly a character...
Backroom Tom Posted April 4, 2009 Backroom Posted April 4, 2009 Some of that 'character' can prove vital when in a battle though, can get the rest of the team fired up
jodrell Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 He was not happy at half time walking down the tunnel and word is he had to be restrained at full time. He's certainly a character... His interview is pure quality asked about the bust up at the end of the game, He said he was not happy about spurs time wasting and told them we had 3 points in the bag.As one of those that did not want him to sign I am starting to warm to him. could he be Savage Mk.2
rover6 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 He was not happy at half time walking down the tunnel and word is he had to be restrained at full time. He's certainly a character... "A character". Talk about euphemism!!!!
Darwen Rover Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Really impressed with Diouf to date, both commitment and quality... as many have already stated; like givet and Samba our better players.. time to be stand up and be counted and these boys are certainly doing that!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Although he seems to be having a positive influence on our team both on and off the pitch, it was quite worrying watching him constantly in the faces of the Tottenham team and referee. There was no need for it after we stole the game from Spurs. We've seen in the past, on numerous occasions, what happens when he goes over the top and it's not something I would like him to do at Blackburn Rovers.

To the many people who are currently gushing in praise about Diouff and Sam Allardtyce yet at the same time are openly admitting that their first impressions and posts were wrong please admit that they know nowt and will endeavour to utilise more grey matter into all future posts and avoid the lynch mob mentallity? ............ it'll stand you in good stead when Joey Barton turns up in the summer.
ihtd Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I really like the guy at the moment, he's just what we needed and for all i care he can abuse the opposition all he likes if we stay up. I'd rather settle for a guy with a bit of Lombardian ethic than have some yoghurt knitting pansy in our midfield right now. He is starting to become like Sav was for us, and for some people who just want to moan about his past, they just cannot get over that.
jim mk2 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 He was not happy at half time walking down the tunnel and word is he had to be restrained at full time. He's certainly a character... Hard working player who puts in a good shift and has a touch of quality we lack. Pity he's lost some of his pace. His less savoury side was in evidence at the final whistle when he tried to win up the Tottenham fans. I understand why because they're an orrible lot but he shouldn't have done it.
Eddie Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 His work ethic is great and he's played pretty well since arriving, but I didn't enjoy his display after the final whistle.
roversmum Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 jonv - it was a Sky Sports interview as they voted him Man of the Match.
broadsword Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 He's a total barmpot, what has he done to his eyebrows?

jim mk2 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 What was the issue? All I saw was him and Gomes having an argy bargy.......... (or is he Brazilian?) Gomes was remonstrating with Diouf for winding up the Spuds followers. Other Spurs players joined in and Diouf had to be led away by Rovers players (Nelsen I think) for his own good.
Hughesy Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I thought it was good to see - he obviously cares to do that and he isnt afraid to get stuck in. He is the sort of player you need in your team as he can wind opposition up and also helps spur the rest of the team on.

I don't think Nelsen was anywhere near cos whilst the verbals were flying I looked to see if he was coming over as he should have done as captain but he was miles away applauding the crowd.
T4E Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Diouf is fast becoming one of my favourites. He plays the loveable rogue brilliantly, if all of our players cared as much as he does then we'd be well out of this.

He plays the loveable rogue brilliantly, if all of our players cared as much as he does then we'd be well out of this. Agree with that, he's just like a pantomime villain and seems to thrive off it. Batty, Savage, Diouf - you call them rotten when they're playing for someone else but you love them to bits when they're playing for you. Off the pitch he's also the nicest bloke you could wish to meet. When I went down to Brockhall the other week with some of the disabled supporters the first team players were just coming out for a training session and it was a bit of a hard job pushing those in wheelchairs up an incline as the wheels were sinking into the turf. Diouf noticed this and came running over from a distance away to help. Once he'd done that, some of the other players offered their assistance. He seemed a particularly enthusiastic trainer during the training session as well.
John Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 There was a genuine urgency to his play yesterday, which suggests he cares.
